I was very impressed with the urgency FlowMasters took with the project. They always showed up early and equipped and ready to work. We had Kevin, who is really good at the trade and neatly completeld the drain project.
With so much rain I noticed a possibly unrelated leak in the area where they had been working. Tina was quick to send out the original crew to investigate. I was encouraged and amazed that they would respond so quickly and with the confidence and integrity to honor stand behind their work. Turns out it was an unrelated issue but I was impressed with the professionalism from Fernando and Chase and everyone at Flowmasters. Feel blessed that they are all trustworthy and professional.
Great service from Flow Masters. First Sebastian came out and assessed and diagnosed several issues, explaining each in detail and offering a range of solutions at a range of costs. Soon after, Kevin arrived to make repairs and install a fixture and fittings. Both gentlemen were professional and handled service with friendliness, knowledge, respect for my home. Midway through the work, another issue was discovered, Sebastian explained it, demonstrated the problem, and stayed late to repair it. All in all, great work.
I used them in March, and should have written this earlier. I would advise making sure u know their rates and what they propose to do. Our tub leaked and it turned out the plumber needed a part to test the drain, and had to,leave to go get it since it wasn't in his truck. Turned out he couldn't fix the problem (understandable, it was the tub, not the drain) but wow, the charge was the hourly rate of $250, for 11/2 hours due to the trip to get the needs part, so $375! No break for me in light of the fact that he couldn't fix it!
Do Not Use Flow Masters. Over $2000 in “repairs” !!! Update: even after reading their reply below, do not use them, they will charge you for things they break and fix things that do not need to be “fixed” . They say they didn’t charge me for the sink they were not supposed to “fix” then what was the extra $600??? Like I say below, they will validate the time they spend at the house looking for a leak by finding things to be replaced that do not need to be replaced. If they don’t find a leak they will find something to make money off of you! This is just bad business! Original review below 👇🏼 I’m a landlord, I was out of town when they came, my tenant was at the building when the repairs were done. They “fixed” several pipes and a pipe on a sink that had nothing wrong with it, they insisted to the tenant that this was the sink to be fixed even though she said no it was the one upstairs, they did it anyway. They basically come in to find a leak and if they don’t find one they find other things that “need to be fixed” that don’t need fixing . Then they broke a piece of pipe and overcharged us $600 over the estimate with no real explanation of what the over charge was for! BEWARE. They will try to keep finding things to “fix” just don’t use them!!
There are rarely times when you feel actual joy when engaging with a home repair service. You can feel satisfied if you are really lucky. But joy? Really? With a plumbing outfit? Come on, man! But that's how my experience went with Flow Masters. Here is the tl;dr. Flow Masters responded quickly, came to check things out, gave me a clear quote the same day, and then stayed on to repair what was supposed to be an easy task, but turned complicated the more they dug into the situation. It took them 8 hours on this job!! But they stuck around and finished the job with total professionalism. Flow Masters isn’t trying to be a successful business. From my vantage point, they already are. They are building a brand. One that understands that good, honest customer service is actually good business. So if you are looking for a plumber, maybe their stellar 5-star ratings were enough for you. But if it isn’t, and you still need more than the 600+ stellar reviews to convince you, here is my unvarnished endorsement of the company. Call them up. You will experience joy. From a plumbing company, yes! Here’s the detail: I have a 5-zone under-floor radiant heating system. One of the zones stopped working. It was the end of February, and it was really cold. First, I called the guy who installed it. He asked a few perfunctory questions and then said the pump needs to be replaced because he has “seen a lot of them fail” after installing them, so this must be it. He didn’t send out an estimator to actually diagnose the situation, because he was too busy to care. He just said it would cost me “a few thousand” and left it at that. The tone was more like, “hey man, I’m super busy, but you are lucky you got me on the phone, and I can swing by and replace the pump, and you should be good to go." Felt a bit uneasy after that call. I called Flow Masters, and they responded quickly. I got a call from Carlos, the estimator. He came in and said the pump was fine. In fact, it was the control system (the computer that sits between the thermostat and the pump and valves) that may be broken. Said he could replace the system for $1.3K, including labor and taxes. Boom like that. I said OK and signed the dotted line. The next day, two plumbers from the team showed up. Emily and Jonathan. They replaced the system. Switched it on and nothing changed. The same zone was still dead. They tried a new system and isolated each zone before turning them all on. Zaaap. When it came to Zone 1, the actual zone that was dead, the system shorted out and killed their second control system. So now they knew there was a short somewhere. So they went about isolating the problem, but couldn't pin it down. Each time they switched on the system, they were now burning up the unit. Until they did. 8 hours later. In the meantime, their supervisor, Gustavo, made two stops to help them out. This would have been the time for them to nickel and dime me for more money, seeing as they had lost a lot of time and equipment in the process. Anyone else would have done it. But for these guys, their word was their bond. How quaint, right?! Not sure these guys really needed another 5-star review, because they clearly don’t. But I would feel remiss not to do so after the service I received. So here you are…
After my excellent experience with Flow Masters this weekend, it is a true pleasure to write this review. It is a little lengthy, so if you don't want to read the entire thing, I will say I unhesitatingly recommend Flow Masters based on their efficiency, honesty and seemingly incredible work ethic! Why? Read on ... :) Our boiler began emitting strange noises on Friday night, and then completely shut down on Saturday afternoon. Our regular plumbers were closed and I recalled seeing Flow Masters trucks in our neighborhood, so I called & amazingly, they said they might be able to send a technician over the same day! Miguel arrived about an hour later & quickly identified the defective part on the boiler. As supply stores are closed on the weekend, he checked with his shop to see if they had any in stock. When he couldn't reach someone on the phone, Miguel offered to drive back to the shop himself (about 30 min away) and said he would return if they had one. Again, bear in mind it is Saturday at 6pm at this point! He called 45 min later & was upfront that the replacement part in stock was not new, but it would do the trick. He was back at our house 40 min later and then spent the next 2 hours installing the part. It was after 9pm (remember, this was a Saturday!!) by the time he finished. Here's the best bit - Miguel said they would only charge me for the labor costs, not the part itself as it wasn't new!! He then encouraged me to do a Google search for the cost of a new part, and that they would be happy to come install a brand-new one when I was ready. The entire experience was excellent from start to finish. They sent someone right away. Miguel was highly competent and cared very much about the quality of the work. There was transparency on pricing and no hard sell. Overall, a 10/10 and I will be using Flow Masters regularly going forward!
Our project involved the complete rebuilding of an older structure in a difficult site. The building is 4 stories, divided into 3 apartments, for a total of 2800 square feet, and all of the plumbing was essentially on one wall. They did all of the plumbing from the gas and water mains on. They did 3 tankless combi boilers, all hot and cold water for 3 full baths and a powder room, 3 kitchens, 3 laundries, radiant heat for all 4 floors, 3 gas ranges and 3 gas fireplaces, and drainage systems for a flat roof and a 23 x 4 light well, all to meet demanding San Francisco plumbing codes. There isn't a plumbing problem that we didn't encounter, and there is no plumbing situation we can imagine anyone in the City might have that we didn't encounter. Our project was so complex that another contractor theorized that the site was haunted. When we checked Flow Master's references before engaging them, one reference (a general contractor) actually said that he hesitated to recommend them because they are so good he was afraid that they would get so much work that they wouldn't be able to accommodate his projects. We feel the same way, so we got Conor to promise that we would always be their clients and that, if we needed them, Flow Master would help us. Finally, our electrical contractor had a girlfriend who was a plumbing engineer in Russia, and she wanted to see as many U.S. plumbing installations as she could. We gave her permission to look at our plumbing before the drywall went up. She spent two hours at our site and then told us that she had looked at more than 40 sites, and ours was the highest quality she had ever seen. Flow Master did all of this work brilliantly, on time, and on budget, and their bid was reasonable and firm, despite the complexity. 10 stars!
My htp Phoenix high efficiency water heater stopped working at the start of the cold snap, disabling my underfloor radiant heat and household hot water. Tired of service techs that did not know about my equipment, I contacted the manufacturer, which put me in touch with the regional sales distributor. Steve at Action Sales, quickly put me in touch with Conner at Flow Masters. Conner arranged to come down and check out my problem the next day. He diagnosed the problem as incorrect installation by the original contractor. They had simply failed to protect the air intake vent from the rain. Moist air had been blowing into the fan and burn unit, eventually causing the fan unit to seize. Water was also leaking from around the the burner chamber, so I decided to replace rather than repair the existing water heater. The technician Beto, came down the next day to start prep work. The new boiler was installed during the next 3 days. I can't say enough good things about everyone involved in this chain of events. The manufacturer and sales rep were very quick to connect me to Flow Masters. Conner was very knowledgeable about the products and candid about the risks of repair or replace. Beto was prompt, courteous, very respectful of my property. Everyday before leaving, he would clean up his work area. The new system was seamlessly mated into the existing plumbing. He also is in possession of some wonderful professional tools. Beto really put in the extra effort to bring up my hot water as soon as possible. The new tankless boiler works so much better than the old system. Beto also took the time to explain the system to me, the changes he made, and importantly, the maintenance required. Flow Masters Plumbing are very highly recommended!
I have a unique HTP boiler instead of a typical water heater and recently it stopped producing hot water and maintaing the temperature. I called a few places in the East Bay, and they all said they were not qualified to fix that type of boiler that I had. An HTP sales rep referred me to Flow Masters and things immediately changed for the better. The day after I called them, one of the company owners, Alan, personally came to my home to check out my issue. He immediately knew what the problem was and sent me a quote that evening. Once I decided to contract with them, Aislinn from their office called me right away and sent me everything via email to get contracted and scheduled for them to do the work. She was great as she called me each step of the way and always called back when I had questions. Lastly, the technician Alberto was awesome. One of the kindest and most professional people you will ever meet. He arrived at 7:30 am sharp, just as scheduled, and provided me various updates throughout the day as he worked on the job. My boiler is located in a pit under my house and not easily accessible or visible. However, Alberto sent me photos of the boiler sahowing how things looked before he started the work, while he had the boiler pulled apart and was cleaning the internal components, and after photos of all the new expansion tanks and reassembled boiler. I've never had a company do that before for any home maintenance job. My entire experience with Flow Masters was great, and I will definitely be coming back to them for my annual maintenance!
I can't say enough good things about the excellent service and follow up that I received from Flow Masters. When I first called, they scheduled a prompt visit to assess an issue with my radiant floor heating system and provided an estimate within the next 2 days. Connor took the time to explain the issue to me and what would be involved in doing the repair. I felt that the estimate was fair and reasonable. Two technicians came out to do the work at the scheduled time and explained all of the steps, even taking photos to show me where the problem was and how they fixed it. They were able to answer all of my questions. Despite testing my radiant floor heating system, for some reason I did not have heat the evening after their visit. I called the next day and they sent someone out that afternoon to investigate and solve that issue. The next week, I found a pool of water leaking out from my laundry room. It was already after 5 pm but Connor came over to assess the problem. He spent over an hour tracking down what was going on and identified an issue inside one of the laundry room walls. He stabilized the issue and arranged to have one of his technicians come out the next day to do the repair. What I can't get over is how responsive and informative Connor and all of his technicians were. That Connor came out after hours and sent a technician the very next day is incredible service. The receptionist was also helpful and responsive. I will definitely be using Flow Master Plumbing in the future and highly recommend them.
I intially hired Flow Master's to unclog a bathroom toilet. Their equipment became stuck in the pipes and after much effort and a gigantic mess they were able to unclog the pipes. However in the process they cracked the interior of my toilet. The owner was called and he came to view the damage and quickly agreed to buy a new toilet for me and a few weeks later he had his crew come back and install the new toilet. However the crew did not properly tighten the coupler to the waste pipe when they installed the new toilet. So each time the toilet was flushed it flushed waste water into the walls of my home and under the wood floors of the bedroom which was behind the toilet. The bedroom wood floors buckled from being soaked in waste water. The odor was horrible. The owner came back and opened the wall and saw their plumbing error. He took responsibilty again and filed a claim with his insurance company. This was in August of 2024. I had to immediately mitigate the water damage and to begin the repairs in my home. I had to pay for all of these repairs out of my own pocket which were very expensive. I could not use my bathroom or bedroom for months. It took five months for plumbers insurance company to just partially reimburse me for for repairs. While I appreciate Flo Masters taking responsibility for the damages I would not use them again or recommend them because the damages they caused in my home were easily preventable if they had done their work with care and diligence in the first place.
We had an odd smell coming from out laundry room/bathroom area and could figure out what was the culprit. Sebastian initially came out to diagnose our issue and confirmed that a smoke test could be helpful in determining if there was a cracked pipe or something else happening. Sebastian was friendly and reassuring that they’d help us anyway they could (assuming it was a plumbing issue). About a week later, Kevin and Connor came out and performed the smoke test that lead us to finding a drain in the house we didn’t know was there. Both guys were super friendly and helpful and listened to us ramble on about all the various things we’ve tried and suspected might be the cause of our issue. They helped us (hopefully) resolve the issue and were great to work with. Really happy with the team that we worked with.
One of our hydronic radiant heating zones stopped working. Flow Masters Plumbing was highly recommended by Pace Plumbing Supplies, which was where our original plumber bought our radiant heating system. Pace also provided some install consultation to our original plumber. Connor, who serviced our radiant heat system, was very friendly, professional and showed up with a mask on (for Covid prevention). He found the problem very quickly, addressed it and also took a quick inspection of the system to make sure everything looked good including sending a scope into the embedded pipe to make sure hot/warm water is being distributed throughout the zone. It's nice to have our heat back! We're very happy with the service provided and will definitely contact them again for future service needs.
I want to write today and commend Flow Masters, and two technicians in particular (Jose & Miguel) - for their help, and hard work this past week. First week with our lovely new tenants, and low & behold, the old furnace decided to kick the bucket - during a cold spell and on the day before Thanksgiving no less - not a great look at all. I'm very grateful to the Flow Masters team for getting out to the home right away, diagnosing the issues, and most of all - then putting in the new furnace on Thanksgiving day. While I feel guilty making the two gentlemen work on a family day, I'm incredibly grateful for their hard work, dedication, and excellent job getting the unit installed. Very much appreciate the partnership with Flow Masters - they've been fantastic to work with - M
