Had a bad clog on the lines leading to my septic system, that caused water to come up from my sinks after using them (Grease in the lines, I called FloHawks and asked for an emergency inspection on my septic, they gave me an initial ballpark cost and had a tech out only a few hours after my call. They sent a young man named Eli and he was very knowledgeable, skilled an was able to trace the issue efficiently after accessing the cover, he also inspected other items at my request and gave me a reasonable final price well under the 1k+ I'd expected if it was a septic failure. He had my problem solved in about an hour, gave advice on the age of the system (50yrs already) and that it could be a few years before a pumping is actually needed. I would gladly do business with them and him again.
I should have called FloHawk the first time. Drain Pro quoted me $1,500 to install a baffle(thanks Ricky) and remove a metal divider lid (which I did myself. Ryan at FloHawk did the job for $392. . FloHawk really goes above and beyond my expectations with realistic prices that I can afford.
We called about a plumbing issue at our house in Gig Harbor on Wednesday night at 7PM; despite the 24/7 listing on google, there are no night techs on duty, but we were assured that we would be put on the list and taken care of first thing on Thursday morning. FloHawks called me at 7:10AM Thursday, saying we were second in line for a tech to visit us. I called back at 11AM to see if there was some kind of ETA; we were still assured that we were second on the list, and the tech would reach out to us as soon as they completed the repair they were currently performing. FloHawks calls us back at 1PM to tell us that the tech has finished their repair, but needed to go a little out of their way and deliver something to another site, or something of that nature. I call back at 3:55PM, looking for an ETA. Am told at 4:05PM when FloHawks calls back that the tech assigned to us was in Milton, WA, and was stuck in traffic on their way to us. I call at 4:40PM. Am told that the tech is in traffic in Tacoma. I call at 5:33PM. Am told once again that the tech is in Tacoma traffic. At 6:27PM, FloHawks calls me to tell me that their technician has JUST wrapped up their work on a job in Gig Harbor, and will be out to our house asap. I vent my frustration that it's been all day and FloHawks hasn't arrived yet, and my confusion as to whether or not the tech in question has been stuck in Tacoma traffic for a least the last 2.5 hours, or only 10 miles away fixing something else all day. I am told that the main office is closing at 7PM, and that the tech will work overtime and call us when he is on the way. 7:48PM. Almost 25 full hours from the moment I first call for help with my plumbing issue. I receive a call from a tech who says they'll be here in 31 minutes. More awkwardly than I would have liked, I inform the tech that I had already called a different plumbing service (at about 7:15PM) to address my issue, and that they were on their way presently. Now, let me be fully transparent here. I'm ABUNDANTLY aware that was something of an impolite thing to do; inform someone at the last minute, when they were ready to rock and roll, that I was canceling. That exhibits a lack of respect for that technician's time, and the only way I could have been ruder is if I edged and flaked out on them for 13 hours or so- they might have gotten a lot more done, had they not been held in limbo, waiting for an entire day...
Timely and very nice in person, however, 1) I sat around all day Saturday only to get rescheduled. 2) They said a septic pump would cost $580 over the phone including the submittal to the county. They then added a $100 inspection fee once the bill was presented to me. There are cheaper places to get your septic pumped that will be honest about the cost upfront.
We had a leaking bathtub upstairs and while FloHawks was able to send someone out pretty quickly, that person couldn’t figure out what was wrong. He told us there would be no charge for his visit as he couldn’t diagnose the problem and someone from the office would contact us the next day to send someone else out. We didn’t hear anything the next day so we called to follow up. They were able to send someone else out pretty quickly, which we appreciate, and that person fixed the leak. We received an invoice and paid it right away. A few days later, we received another invoice so we called FloHawks and explained what their technician told us - that we would not be charged for the first visit due to him not being able to identify the cause of the leak. They told us they would look into it and get back to us. 3 months later, they sent the invoice again so we explained to them again that the first visit was supposed to be free because they didn’t do anything. Again, they said they would look into it and get back to us. 4 months later, we received an email saying that the invoice is going to collections. Once again, we explained the situation - this time, to 2 people, one by email and one on the phone. We were told their supervisor, Thomas, would get back to us. It’s been a month since then and we still haven’t heard from them. Not only was their first technician incompetent, he didn’t communicate with the office that there would be no charge for the first visit. And after they threatened us to go to collections, they couldn’t be bothered to respond to any phone calls and emails.
