My experience with Drain Terrier was amazing. They scheduled us quickly. The technician, Nick, was a great guy. Very friendly, thorough, explaining all the repairs needed and completed the repair in a timely fashion. ( my cats liked him alot too 😺)The prices were very reasonable as well. I'm very thankful that I reached out to them for our repair!! I highly recommend Drain Terrier for any plumbing needs!!
Tracy and Connor were on time with a call ahead. Really appreciate that. We reviewed options for the new water heater and they were back promptly with the new water heater. Installation was smooth and quick with the new water heater and surrounding area pristine when they were done. They were professional and polite and good with the dogs. Very happy with the experience.
I just had Drain Terrier replace my entire main line (65 feet) with two external washouts installed, and they were fantastic. Savannah (the owner) was absolutely wonderful—super honest, super knowledgeable, and the whole crew was just as great. Her dad Tracy and her brothers were all so professional and nice. They got everything done in just a couple of days, and even the city inspector said they did a top-notch job. On top of that, their quality and pricing can’t be beat—you really get the best of both. I highly, highly recommend them for any plumbing work, especially big projects like main line replacements. Thanks again, Savannah and team! 🙂
They are just looking for a quick cash grab! They told me I needed to replace my almost new water heater. They are just looking for a quick cash grab from an unsuspecting homeowner who happens to be a woman. I went with a different company - a flush and a new thermostatic mixing valve later and everything is great. DON’T trust them!!!!!!!
We had a basement drain issue. House built in the 80's. Nice gentleman came out to address the issue. He attempted to remove the cleanout plug with a rather large set of channel locks? Mind you that plug had probably never been removed from the cast iron pipe that it was in so it was pretty rusty. Then said he was afraid he would break it. Seeing that he was using a pair of channel locks I wanted him to stop using those. He tried to snake the line through the p-trap but said he couldn't get past the p-trap. He called into the office and they recommended removing the appliances around it and ripping out the concrete, digging out the cast iron pipe and replacing it for a cost starting at over 5K. I told him I'll hold off on all that. The only problem we were having was we couldn't do a load of laundry without having that drain overflow. So he then presented me with a tablet that had pricing such as a Platinum, gold, & silver repair options which had technical jargon that I could not understand. He wanted me to choose anywhere from the $300+ option all the way to many thousands of dollars option. For just today's work??? What kind of pricing is that, and do they think people are that gullable? I picked the lowest option to pay and sent him on his way. I bought a $9 - 3/4" drive socket and $30 drain auger at harbor freight, a $8 pipe socket off Amazon, grabbed my portable compressor and impact wrench and removed the plug in no time. Ran the drain auger and we are now good.
TLDR: get a second opinion or just hire someone else to start with. Had a washing machine backing up, I told drain terrier I likely had a clog somewhere before washer drain tied into main. The tech arrived on time with a snake, but could not get his snake down the line. It was an old rusted out junky snake, and seemed to be the only tool the tech brought (to his credit, I did say I likely just needed a snake, so that’s probably all he was prepared for). Tech said we needed to open up the wall and take a look, but he didn’t have anything but a razor knife so we used my multi tool. Opening up the wall told us a little more info, but the tech needed to call the boss. After conferring with the boss, they estimated they needed to breakup my new tile floor and replace the drain for ~$3200 (tile and drywall repair not included). I declined and said I’d get a second opinion. They charged me $225 - for snake they didn’t do $250 - to cut hole in drywall with my multi tool I gave them a bit of a hard time about the cost, so I ended up paying $375 for them to not accomplish anything. Had another plumber out just a couple hours later who successfully snaked the drain and I’m running a load of laundry as I type this. Didn’t need to break up my floor, and didn’t even need to cut a whole in my drywall. I get that you have to charge something, but if you can’t run the snake you’re charging me for don’t charge me full price for it. Not impressed with their company or how they do business. Definitely glad I didn’t tell them to get after it cause they probably would have decided we’d need to replace all the plumbing in my whole house.
We highly recommend Drain Terrier for your sewer line replacement! Nick, Savannah, and the crew were professional and easy to work with. They helped me get my insurance company to cover the work by providing exactly what was needed. My adjuster said they were one of the best contractors they have seen. It was 8 days from the initial line inspection, determination it was defective, claim submission, check deposited, and completed new sewer line. The crew came yesterday to do the work. They showed up early, were a joy to watch synchronize activities and stay busy all day. I could tell they knew what they were doing and had much experience doing it. There were no issues in the process and they had the new sewer in place so we could use it by 3PM that afternoon. They continued working to fill in the trench and left the site very clean. Working with Drain Terrier was much different than my experience with the “bait and switch” shady companies I had worked with in the past. Their bid reflected the work and final invoice to the penny. No surprises anywhere in this process. They are my new go to company for plumbing!
I hired Drain Terrier via Thumbtack for a same‑day main sewer cleanout through an outdoor cleanout. No upfront price was provided; the technician quoted over $500 upon arrival. The first pass was done without a cutting blade and barely helped. I had to request a blade, and the tech mentioned the attachment had broken days earlier—I even helped find a bolt to repair the machine. With a small blade, some roots were cleared, but the line backed up again within 24 hours. A follow‑up was scheduled quickly (the owner was polite), but the same technician came with the same equipment. The second pass may have cleared more roots, yet there’s no indication how long it will hold. When I pointed out the 24‑hour recurrence, the tech responded dismissively and I was told nothing could be guaranteed due to roots. For the price, I expected a more thorough job to clear the roots. While they technically completed the job I hired them for after 2 rounds of snaking the line and the line is flowing for now, this was not a confidence‑building experience. I wouldn’t use them again for any plumbing work.
This doesn't happen every day. This doesn't happen EVER. I called Drain Terrier to do a check up on my 3-5 year old residential sewage grinder / pump. I contacted them via their website and they called within an hour to make an appointment, which they were able to schedule the next business day. I received a call & a text before they arrived. Now the good news - I described what I needed and they asked a couple of questions. Then told me that I really don't need any service or maintenance. I asked them if there was a show-up fee and they said no. What?!? I get the best answer possible. In person. And they didn't charge me? Amazing. Thanks John! Have a five star review, Drain Terrier!
Aden from Drain Terrier did two toilets and four sink and faucet installations for our four bathrooms, plus he reinstalled our garbage disposal and kitchen faucet after our new countertops were finished. He did a great job, asked all of the right questions about how we wanted things done and he’s also a very friendly person! After that, I needed two more toilets installed and some minor adjustments made and Kris took care of everything we needed. He communicated the issues very clearly. The company was very accommodating and flexible with our schedule as well. We’ve used Drain Terrier in the past and we will continue to do so in the future!
I only Called Drain Terrier because of their reviews. Once I met Nick (for the appraisal), I immediately trusted him and felt comfortable that he knew what he was talking about and how to fix my 1964 basement floor drain. He met every commitment - time to complete, cost of the repair, minimal mess, cleaning up after, etc. I had a plumbing issue that couldn't wait... Not sure about you, but i am always cautious that Plumbers will take advantage of the emergency and overcharge. Not my experience with Drain terrier and Nick. He made a difficult situation easy. In less than 24 hrs - my issue has disappeared and the quality of work was superb.
I called about a leaky drain trap in my house. Everyone was very prompt & polite, however there was some serious upselling before my repair could be made. There was a Platinum, gold, & silver repair options which included replacing water lines. Not sure how replacing my perfectly good water lines makes for a “platinum” repair on my drain line. Eventually I was given the “band-aid” option which was actually replacing the trap. I questioned the price given so the tech called the shop to get the price down like I was at a used car dealership. Again, everyone was very polite and the job was completed but the upselling felt dishonest.
What a great experience! Benjamin was right on time as promised. In setting the appointment with Savannah, the service call charges and other policies were explained thoroughly. This included reassuring me that no extra charge was involved for a Saturday or Sunday appointment. Benjamin was very knowledgeable, identified the issue with my fill valve immediately and walked me through the exact charges and payment methods offered. He did an excellent job, bringing in all of the necessary parts and tools in one trip and cleaned up quickly. The entire service was complete within a half hour. Drain Terrier is my new favorite.
“I had two unexpected plumbing issues — first a leak under my sink from the disposal and then a cracked tub causing water damage. Drain Terrier Plumbing handled both quickly and professionally. The two plumbers were skilled, courteous, and explained everything clearly. I also love that they’re family-owned — you can feel the care and pride in their work. I’m so grateful for their help and will absolutely call them again. Highly recommend!”
When I called Drain Terrier they were able to come out and provide a quote same day and then schedule the work within a week. They were very responsive and friendly. Mainly worked with Nick and Savannah. Nick and his crew replaced our cast iron piping in our basement and re-cemented within the same day. I would recommend this family owned business because of their reasonable/competitive pricing and fast and professional work!
