Mathew with Dipple was very professional and knowledgeable! He came and serviced our HvAC needs and did a fantastic job. He explained what needed to be done and the cost, which was very reasonable. He completed the job and then explained how to best run our system so it would run efficiently and effectively, as it was supposed to. Which prior to them, the original company had not fully completed our system properly and left one item broken and uninstalled!
Billy West was amazing. I cannot say enough good things about this experience. From the moment he arrived, he was professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly thorough. He took the time to clearly explain what was going on, walked me through what needed to be done, and made sure I fully understood the solution before moving forward. There was zero pressure and just honest, straightforward expertise. Beyond being technically unmatched, he was genuinely kind and thoughtful. He even brought my trash cans in without being asked. Such a small gesture, but it speaks volumes about his character and level of care. I never thought I’d describe a plumbing issue as “delightful,” but here we are. This was hands-down the best experience I’ve ever had when it comes to solving a home problem. I almost wish I had more plumbing issues just so he could come back and help again. Highly, highly would recommend.
Had a great experience with Brandon. He is knowledgeable, engaging and pays attention to details. I needed a light fixture replaced, Brandon ‘s assessment and installation were quick and efficient. He went the extra mile by patching up the holes left by the old fixture. Overall, a great and easy experience. Thanks Brandon!
The Dimple technician seems intent on finding an expensive part for repair or replacement of my upstair heater, (advised me to install a whole heater costing over $10,000 !) . The Dipple tech spent a lots of time disassembling and assembling (poking around?) where as reputed companies like Corley and McGee suggested replacing only the inducer blower, at about $1500 , labor & material. I would think twice to call Dipple HVAC again.
I called Dipple to fix our heater. I described the problem in detail and suggested it might be the flame sensor in hopes that they would come with the part to fix it. The guy was apparently a new hire. He shows up two days later and goes up into the attic and the first thing he does is call someone to tell him what to do. Apparently, they couldn't figure it out over the phone so another guy shows up 15 minutes later. Thirty minutes later they come down and proudly announce, "It's your flame sensor, sir!" They told me they would come back in two days with the part. I about fell to the floor when they told me the price to replace the flame sensor, $587. The typical pricing on the internet goes from $80 to $240. I thought well maybe my system was complex. Just my luck. They made be pay one-half upfront. Two days later, the guy came back and installs the flame sensor. He takes 15 minutes to install it. It didn't fix the problem. I guess they thought they had a sucker and said it would cost $361 more to replace the gas valve. I knew where this was going. The cost was up there where it made sense to replace the entire unit. I refused to pay more. We had an agreed-upon price to fix the heater, and they reneged. I talked to a manager. He agreed to have the part removed and to refund what I had paid. He didn't refund the money as promised, so I had to refute the credit card payment. A new valve would not have fixed the problem. I suppose the next move was an up-sale me on a new unit. The problem, you ask? A clogged orifice where the pressure sensor attaches. NO parts were required to fix it. Once located, it took 15 seconds to fix. After studying the situation, I found that it was IMPOSSIBLE for it to be the flame sensor. They had NO justification for replacing the gas valve. Zero. For their lack of expertise, their stupid expensive pricing, and for reneging on the promised credit, I'll never use Dipple again. I got the impression they were trying to punish me for not accepting their yearly maintenance contract. The woman I talked to originally made a reference to that. It is not my first bad experience with Dipple, but it will be my last. Never again!
On Monday, 3/23/2015, my husband and I started noticing problems with our plumbing. The drains were slow, and clear water was coming up into our tub while the tub in the other bathroom was draining/toilets were flushing. The next day, it seemed better, so we thought maybe it was just an air bubble or something. We aren't that lucky. On Wednesday, 3/25/2015, neither of our toilets would flush. So, we called Dipple Plumbing and they sent someone out here. I told him then that I thought the septic tank needed to be pumped, as we had been here over 4 years and had not had it done. He said "As long as the bacteria levels are ok, it never needs to be pumped out." When he got here, he pulled a bunch of paper towels out of the clean out pipe that one of our children had flushed down the toilet while cleaning the bathroom. We never told them not to, we never thought about there being a situation when they would feel the need. We were charged $346 (just for them to pull some paper towels out of a pipe), and they left. Everything was fine the rest of the afternoon, and the next day. On Friday, 3/27/2015, we started having the same problems. We called Dipple back that evening, and after some back and forth, we were told the original guy that came out should have pumped our septic tank. The person we spoke to said they would credit us the $346 towards the cost of pumping our tank, which is normally a minimum of $550. We decided to wait it out, because we figured they would charge more to come out on a weekend. So, Sunday evening, we called them to make an appointment for service Monday. The person we spoke to asked us to call back at 7:00 Monday morning, because they could only schedule emergency appointments. So, at 7:15 Monday morning (3/30/15), I called and said I needed someone to come pump out my septic tank. The dispatcher (I guess?) immediately replied "Oh, we don't pump out septic tanks." I told her I had been speaking with various people at that company for almost a week now, and the septic tank had been mentioned more than once, yet no one bothered to mention that they didn't provide that service. Of course, she didn't know why. At this point I'm wondering why the 2nd plumber we spoke with offered to credit us the $346 if it wasn't even a service he provided, but I didn't ask her because I figured she didn't know. She gave me the number of the person they refer everyone to. So, I called him. He was in Spartanburg County, and we are in Pickens County, about 10 mins from the Oconee Nuclear Station. Needless to say, he doesn't come out this far. He gave me a couple of numbers of people he thought might be able to help me, and mentioned that there was someone close by, but he couldn't remember their name. I immediately searched Google for septic tank pumping near me, and found Johnson Septic Tank company in Liberty. I called him and he told me he wouldn't be able to make it out here until Tuesday afternoon or Wednesday morning. I told him I was going to call the other numbers I had been given to see if they could come sooner, then I would call him back if I still needed him. I looked up the other people to see where they were before I called them, and they weren't much closer than the original person I called, so I just decided to call Johnson back. He quoted me $250, which was a pleasant surprise and much different than the $550 I had been quoted by Dipple. At this point, we had been unable to flush our toilets, take a shower, wash dishes or wash clothes since Friday evening. We even stayed in a hotel room Monday night so we could all have showers. Johnson finally came out Wednesday morning, pulled another wad of paper towels out of the clean out port (at no extra charge I might add), and pumped our septic tank for the agreed upon $250. The owner came out here personally, and I would highly recommend him for anyone in his service area. We were talking, and he asked me how much Dipple charged me to unclog the lines. I told him $346. He just shook his head. I won't mention what he said here, as I don't want to get him in trouble with Dipple, but it wasn't positive. Had Dipple Plumbing told us from the start that our septic tank needed to be pumped, we most likely could have had it done before the weekend, and saved $346, plus the cost of the hotel room. I feel like we were taken advantage of, and I will not do business with Dipple Plumbing again.
ok i understand its a company and need to make money on jobs they do as i am in a service business myself but ??? soi get on angies list and i am contacted by dipple so first i am told no charge to come look and than i am charged to come out and the guy looks around and tells me that he doesnt see a water leak anywhere and the equipment to try and hear the leak under ground is a thousand dollars and it wont work... we will need to replace the whole pipe from water meter to house he estimated it was about 14 hundred feet and if they hit any other water lines they were responsable ,,, but he couldnt give me a quote he had to check prices and he would e-mail it too me ... so i get the e-mail when i get home from work which i had to take the morning off to meet dipple, so i open the e-mail and the estimate was just under 10,000 dollars .. so i started looking online to price things out and see if this was resonable for the work here is what i came up with , #1 found the pex line 12 hundred feet more than i neededand shipped $599.80 #2 fittings , rings, new regulator, new shut off valve , $250.00 #3 rental for a trenture , i was told this had to be done with an excavator,, not true ... $298.00 so parts for this job was a total of $ 1,147.80 so this left about 8,000 dollars for labor , was told it would take 3 days atleast to finish this job , not true i did this whole job in 8 hours by myself , trenched , dropped the pipe in and hooked it up and covered it up.. so 8 hours of work would be 1000.00 dollars an hour this was a total scam of them trying to get my money , maybe they think im stupid and if i had to call them i didnt know anything about it , i would just pay them to do it .... dont get me wrong its a business and they need to make money but that kind of money was just way over priced and the reason i had them come out was because i didnt want to do it myself not that i couldnt pay or didnt know how ,,
Absolutely atrocious experience. I had Dipple come out to my business to look at a hot water heater in one section of the building they quoted me to have it removed and replace it. After discussing the fact that we don't actually use hot water in that section of the building I was assured that it would be safe to simply turn the unit off. They did not charge me to have the unit turned off, however I assumed that was due to the many other times I have hired them in the past. I would have gladly paid whatever was needed to safely disconnect this unit. 7 months later, this unit started an electrical fire that could have risked the lives of my team and my business because despite the fact that the hot water was turned off, the power to the unit was not. Billy West, the manager and technician that made the error was extremely combative from the beginning to the end of the call, no apologies, no attempt to make the situation better at all. Not even an offer to discount the service to remove my torched hot water heater that will now be required because of their error. It was no longer an option to leave it because of the pungent smell of fire. Billy's only response was that I couldn't prove someone else hadn't flipped the breaker back on, which I know with certainty did not happen. However, this is really irrelevant because if he had disclosed to me that if someone simply flipped the wrong switch that unit would become active again and dangerous, I would have had it removed in the first place. This was confirmed by the company I hired to come fix the problem after the fact who immediately stated "This should have never been turned off and left active on a breaker regardless of whether or not they flipped the breaker. That's exactly how electrical fires start". This is truly the worst and most dangerous customer service I have ever experienced. Billy couldn't even bring himself to offer simple niceties like "I'm sorry to hear that happened". Their actions could have leveled a business that has been in Greenville for 35 years.
I researched HVAC contractors to find a good one to service my AC units. Dipple was Trane Comfort Specialist so decided to go with them. First call was a joke. The lady who answered the phone was clueless. She didn't even know what a AC tune up was. I was so frustrated, I decided to hang up and call back later. After second call Ms. Clueless I guess recognized my voice and put someone on who was very professional. Quoted me special $89/ each for my two units. Made appointment for one week out at 3-5PM on Monday. That day came, and they called me in the morning saying there was "forecast of rain" that afternoon and they would have to reschedule to next day at 3-5pm. mmm well, OK. At 2:44pm on the next day, another call "running 2 hours late, be there latest 430-5PM" I asked if that was enough time to do the two hour job? Said ok.. Well 5PM came and went. Finally at 6:30PM I called and the lady on the phone had not record of the 2:44pm call, and no clue about my service. She called me back at close to 7PM, and said " the service manager will send out someone now free of charge". I said it was getting dark, so how are they going to do work in the dark? She said no problem? yeah right. STRIKE 3. I told her I was was totally disappointed with their lack of professionalism, and why would I want an organization working on my house who could not even schedule a simple service call? I would not use Dipple if they paid me. Disorganized and uprofessional. I am surprised they have the Trane designation also.
I had an appointment scheduled yesterday that I set last week and they never showed up. When I called, they said there was not a record of the apt in their system so I asked them if they could come out today instead and they said yes. I asked to receive a confirmation which they said they would do but I never received it. When I set the appt, I asked about the cost. They told me there would be a $79 disbatch fee. I thought it was steep, but it's not worth calling around to get pricing over $15. I needed the plumbing in the kitchen disconnected so that I can have countertops installed. I asked what the fee is for this. They told me they couldn't give me a quote and the technician would do it on-site which is ridiculous since it is a simple kitchen sink disconnect. I received a call today from the guy telling me it will cost an ADDITIONAL $291 FOR THE DISCONNECT. THAT IS INSANE!!! My mom was there and she said it took the guy 15 minutes. I just received the invoice for $370 to disconnect a kitchen sink. I have used Brothers Plumbing and Batson Plumbing in the past and I recommend them both over this company. (I found my invoice from Batson in 2017 and they charge $99 for the 1st hr and $69/hr + materials after that)
Fantastic service! Craig Bishop came (12/19) to do my routine Fall/Winter equipment check (4 units) and discovered one had a cracked heat exchanger and another was highly questionable (both very old units - 23y.o.). He called Mason Davis, who came that afternoon to review and we determined one unit had to be replaced and the other probably should. We discussed options, capabilities, and costs, and timeframes the units could be replaced. We also discussed moving the thermostats to different locations to overcome some issues in uneven temps in parts of the house. I had Christmas company arriving in 4 days, and all bedrooms would be full! Mason was able to obtain the needed equipment and a crew (Merritt, Hunter, & Chad Martin) to install, starting the next day (12/20)! They finished the following day (12/21). Everything worked perfectly. Two weeks later (1/5), Craig came to check everything over and perfect or fine-tune a couple of things. Great quality control follow-up. I think they be considered pricy by some, but given the quality of their personnel, responsiveness, and ability to pay large bills over 60 months (no interest), they are well worth using.
Both our air con units went out on Friday, 7/14 (one of hottest days yet this year)...I jumped online and searched for after hours support as we have 2 young kids and just moved to S.C. from California where it's much cooler & a broken down AC wouldn't be that big of a deal. I got a call from Craig on Friday night saying he'd come no matter how late to help us. His last call before us turned out to take a lot more time than anticipated & a major storm passed through at the same time. He constantly stayed in touch with me and let me know his status. We finally agreed he'd come as soon as possible the next morning as he'd been working for 14+ hours and was in obvious need of some rest. In short, Craig is a true professional who was helpful, kind and extremely knowledgeable about our problem. He was so good we decided to sign up for a service agreement with Dipple, Inc...I can't say enough good things about Craig. He even called back later in the day to make sure the house had cooled down!! You just don't get service like that anymore...to say I was impressed is an understatement. We look forward to a long term relationship with Craig & Dipple, Inc. -Mark
Three weeks waiting for Dipple to repair a Trane split unit they installed four years ago. No heat in the house for three weeks. Now they have decided the compressor they installed as a replacement for when it first failed in 2016 has gone bad. Poor communication, poor service, poor quality products. I am disgusted a spent $11,000 for a system that is constantly breaking down. No heat for three weeks with no relief in sight. Update: after being told by Bill the operations manager that he was pushing Trane for a complete replacement, he then tells me to call Matt the Trane rep. Matt states to me that Dipple refused to give him an opportunity to replace the unit. He stated since they dropped Dipple they closed their account and have no way to send them a unit. I share this back with Dipple and then get a call from Bill saying he refuses to service my unit from now on. In other words, we made our money off you and don't stand behind our product we sold you. Let the buyer beware I guess but also in business, one bad review costs. Business 10 lost sales, let the next 10 customers be wary.
The technicians at Dipple have been superb. They are not only superior in their knowledge of the systems, but they are personable and caring in their actions. We were fortunate enough to Deal recently with Philip. We wanted to get a contract for full service of HVAC, Plumbing and electrical work. He spent a lot of time going over the advantages of having a contract, including pricing, savings in the future and advantages of having such a program. He was fully involved and telling us all the pros and cons of being a customer of Dipple. Explained the price set up and what we would benefit by having such a contract we chose to be part of the “dipple family“And still hope we never needed to, but feel comfortable knowing that we are considered part of the family. We have used Dipple twice before and have had nothing but good experiences with them. They are a nice kind of people and do the work rapidly with Care and cleanup perfectly after completing a job. Highly recommended community care company supply services for HVAC electrical and plumbing problems. “Yay Dipple!”’ j
We sold our house and closed on it yesterday (5/30/18). Some of the items to be repaired were electrical and we had a licensed electrician come out yesterday morning to make the repairs noted by the home inspector . An electrician from Dipple Plumbing had come out on 12/1/15 to repair a fluorescent light fixture and he recommended we have a whole house surge protector installed. The home inspector found where something was wired to a 50 amp double breaker. That something was the surge protector. The wrong sized wire was connected to a 50 amp double breaker - 10 gauge and 12 gauge wire were spliced together with the 12 gauge wire connected to the surge protector. The electrician fixed it yesterday. We paid $495.00 to have a surge protector improperly installed. The 50 amp double breaker was at one time connected to an electric hot water heater that we no longer have. We will never use Dipple Plumbing for anything ever again.
