Steve from Despins Plumbing came out the very next day to fix our clogged kitchen sink. Price was quoted before arrival, came on time, was very thorough and very courteous. Sink was fixed, he explained what he did, and he tested it out for us several times to make sure we were satisfied. In addition to the top notch service, Steve (the owner) is a very nice guy. I would recommend him to my Mom.

Such a positive experience! We remodeled our Kitchen and half-bath. Steve removed all the existing fixtures, relocated piping from old walls that were being removed into new walls, extended gas piping for the new range location, then installed and hooked up new sinks, toilet, faucets, dishwasher, range, and water to fridge. Steve was extremely personable, helpful, and always there when he was needed so that other trades could do their work and the project could stay on track. Everything Steve did seemed to be done as if he was doing it for his own house.

Needed a replacement water heater. Called early afternoon, got a call back later the same day. Heater ordered same day, delivered and installed the following. Steve is both knowledgeable and personable, highly recommend his work. Just keep in mind he's one guy, so be understanding if there's some delay in contacting him; it'll be worth the wait!

Despins replaced a grinder pump for me back in 2005. They did a good job, but the pump has reached the end of its life so I called them (twice) to come back out for a new one and never even received a return phone call. Good companies do not let returning customers have sewage backing up in their basements.

I'm a former customer and had always recommended Despins to others based on my experiences. He has helped in a pinch a few times which I very much appreciated. BUT...this last time I had a time sensitive issue (not an emergency but had a deadline) that I called two weeks in advance of when I needed the project done and he did not return my call. I followed up after a week begging the answering service to have him call me asap so I know if I need to find someone else, said I was an existing customer and was very clear about the urgency of the job (appliances were scheduled to be delivered and I needed two shut-off valves installed in the kitchen or the dishwasher and fridge would not be installed by the retailer). At the recommendation of a friend, I called Karlsen Plumbing and the phone was answered by a real employee who had the appointment book in front of her. The job was done on the day promised. I don't understand the Despin's business model at all. Does he just do emergency repairs? Then market yourself that way. But why not return phone calls, especially to a repeat (satisfied) customer. I'm happy to have found someone new who I can rely on, who operates the way I feel a business should.
