Dave arrived on time and fixed my clogged kitchen drain and leaking pipes without any issues. He made sure everything was properly reconnected, tested the pipes multiple times to ensure there were no leaks, and cleaned up before he left, taking the trash with him. Dave did great work, was reliable and professional, and his pricing was very fair.

Dave was very friendly and a great plumber. I had a leaky shower head; he did his best to fix it as is before getting me a new one. I appreciated that he worked hard to fix it before replacing it. I am very happy with my new shower head, and would recommend him!

Bathrooms and kitchen sink was plugged, Dave successfully cleaned my drain and sewer lines. He was polite, efficient, left the areas clean. Definitely will call him again

I filled out the general Yelp project details to request quotes from multiple plumbers. I stated my issue and asked for a quote to assess the issue, and for the repair. I didn't say anything about my expectations of cost. The arrogant response from Dave was off putting and unnecessary. I can only assume he's been turned down for projects for high pricing. Fine, maybe he doesn't want to waste his time on estimates that don't get picked up. But his assumption of my intent and his aggressive response to a request for a quote was so rude! I didn't bother responding to his comment and went with someone else (and certainly not at a "handyman price" whatever that is).

I've added Dave's to my speed dial. Our bathrooms would periodically have a bad odor over the years, and it recently became unbearable. I had called other plumbers before, and none could figure it out. Raymond G. and Dave both came out to troubleshoot. Unfortunately, the odor wasn't present that day, but Raymond, a Toto-trained specialist, spent time walking through the possibilities. I really liked that he took time to think through the possible causes. He even noticed something wrong with the *sound* of the flush. A toilet whisperer. :) I had them do a few other repairs instead like a leaky toilet, clogged tub, and kitchen faucet repair. They were reasonably priced. The next day, the odor came back and the leaky toilet had an additional, smaller leak that we missed the day before. Raymond and Dave both returned, at no charge, to fix the additional leak. After verifying the odor, they checked the vents outdoors and found that those had been capped, trapping all the sewer gases! (A pest control company may have capped them to prevent rats from entering.) They uncapped and covered the vents properly, then tested the flushes. While the odor didn't go away immediately, they eventually disappeared that day. They checked all the roof vents and found another vent related to the dryer was capped. They even fixed that, and now the laundry room is no longer humid and hot! What I like so much about both Dave and Raymond is that they truly care about the customer. They took the time to figure things out. They returned the second day at no charge to complete the fixes to the leaky toilet and vent problems. Dave even called back today to make sure everything is working properly. They also didn't come with an attitude of "let me see how much I can rip off these rich Palo Alto residents." (I've had some bad experiences with plumbers doing that to me.) They are honest and trustworthy. You get the sense they take pride in making people happy while earning an honest day's wages. So call Dave. You'll be happy.

I just had the distinct pleasure of using David Diaz of Dave's Specialized Rooter for the second. The first time was last December when we was our Christmas Miracle taking care of a fully clogged mainline on the Sunday before Christmas. He came straight over despite being in the middle of Christmas shopping with his family. Unreal! All the while with a smile and good humor! Our hero! Well I just had him come over today to perform PM on the same line to ensure that we don't have a plumbing emergency! I can actual say that i was looking forward to seeing him as he is such a master of his craft and so fun and interesting to talk to! Dave showed up right when promised, a big smile (I could tell by his eyes), wearing a mask and gloves and proceeded to clean out our main. Few people even cary a long enough snake to clean out our line but Dave does! His equipment is modern and well maintained and he is very proud of his services and abilities (as well as proud of his family). In no time, David had cleaned out the line ensuring it would serve our needs. It was clear from the photos attached that we would have been clogging up soon! Unlike the 'big names' David DOES NOT try and upsell you with unneeded equipment or services. He educates you as to options and treats the service as if it were for his own home. I appreciate this more than anything! His expertise, pride and workmanship makes him one of a kind and MY go-to plumber! Not only a master at what he does but a truly great person! Thank you David! My downstairs toilet flooded the last night and so I was in a panic trying to figure out what my next steps were. Dave answered my request for a quote immediately and we talked on the phone. He came by early next morning and found the problem - tree roots had grown into the sewage pipe. Here's why you should hire Dave for any of your plumbing needs: 1) He was straightforward and transparent - he described what he was going to do and the cost before he started working. (He also diagnosed the problem BEFORE he gave a quote, which said a LOT. Some people will tell you a flat price before even seeing what the problem is!) 2) Level of professionalism - Dave cleared the pipe from the roots, but then went and snaked it a second time just to make sure it was clear. This level of professionalism is what you want when you're dealing with plumbing and clogged water lines. 3) The price is right - the price that he quoted me was fair for the work he did. I would even say that it was less than I expected considering the amount of lifesaving he did (Not being able to use the toilet or shower is definitely a minor emergency). 4) Punctual and prompt - The appointment was for 9AM. Dave showed up at exactly 9AM on the dot. Everything was working again less than 90 minutes later. I'll be using Dave as my trusted plumber from now on. I highly, highly recommend that you use his services as well!

David is professional to the core. Prompt and through replies , punctual, courteous, respectful and hardworking. I had reached out to a couple of the plumbers for a clog in the home drainage system due to which the water was backing up in my toilet and my bathtub. The responses some of them give are simply bizarre. One of them without any triaging or investigation quoted me a price which had nothing to do with the issue at hand. I am pretty handy with basic fixes but this was to a point where I needed expert help. In comes David with his gadgets and laid out the complete drainage system of my house and showed me exactly where the blockages are on the camera. He was absolutely TRANSPARENT with what he was doing to fix the issue. This was key because I knew exactly what was going on and the effort it was taking him to go 60ft and beyond to clean out the tree root, pieces of leftover debris etc. All of this at a very reasonable cost and stuck to his estimate. Also gave some amazing tips advice, recommendations on the next steps without any sales pitch. I cant recommend him enough and hope he continues his fair business practices which seems to be becoming rare nowadays. Thanks a lot David now I can finally shower lol

Amazing, amazing service from Dave! My toilet wasn't flushing properly so Dave came and immediately knew the main sewer line was clogged. He snaked the pipes several times and discovered tree roots were growing inside the pipes of the main line. He also snaked a camera down the pipes to show me the source of the problem. He took his time and did a thorough job breaking up the roots and cleaned the pipes. Unfortunately for me and the old street pipes in front of my house, Dave explained the roots will continue to grow inside the pipes so snaking the pipes annually is something I'll need to maintain but now I have a great plumber I can call on so I feel a huge sense of relief. Dave is professional, personable and very skilled at his trade. I initially called Mike of He-Man Plumbing since I've used him before and trust but he didn't want to come to Redwood City so he recommended I call Dave. They are former colleagues and anyone Mike has recommended me in the past has been excellent and I can't say any less of Dave. I am proud to call Dave my new trusted plumber and I highly recommend Dave for any of your plumbing needs. I would give him 10 stars if I could!

I had the pleasure of working with David twice. The first time he came by my house to check out the cause of my shower drainage issue. He climbed to my roof and we ran water every way we could for 30 minutes. I couldn't recreate the drainage issue. He made me feel so at ease and explained the whole process, how the piping was configured in the house, and his speculations. He didn't charge me a dime and made sure I knew that he was located nearby and available at any time. Ultimately I had a major back up on a Saturday, the plumbers' busiest day! I tried calling David but he closed his business temporarily. I called around and I was getting high quotes for dates/times I couldn't accommodate. I figured at this rate, I'd wait for David on Monday. I sent him a text hoping my sewer system wouldn't go completely kaputz. Monday morning, to my relief he called back saying that he could come to the rescue! He climbed onto my roof to clear via the vent line and 1.5 hours later he fixed our issues and we have peace of mind. I can't recommend David enough! He's honest and really knows his stuff from all his experience.

What an outstanding experience with David and his business partner Jose from Abound Plumbing. With impending guests and a backed up sewer line and NO clean out, David and Jose got hole dug, cleanout installed and pipe cleaner out quickly, correctly, politely, on estimate (under actually) and they were both a pleasure to deal with. David came over at 7pm to investigate the situation and got us temporarily functional for the night. He sorted out diagnostics for the very next morning, did the permitting, was very kind to my mother who has memory challenges, was VERY respectful of her precious plants and made it all work with zero interference to us or our guests. he was proactive, trustworthy, explained exactly what was being done and overall was the most professional and experienced person we've had work on the house. Just the best experience we've had with a plumber in the 46 years we've lived in the house. It makes us kind of sad he did such a good job, since that ensures we likely won't get to see him ever again!

I have two bathtubs that were flooding in the past week. I called a plumbing company. They used hydro-jetting to clear the clog. But my bathtub still flooded. Dave came to help me. He is the most knowledgeable and well-experienced plumber I've ever met. He identified the problem and found the clogging location quickly. Rather than using the hydro-jetting, he chose to remove the toilet that allows the snake to assess the main pipeline since my house's vent diameter is too small 2". He prepared the pads and clothes to protect the hard floor in my house. He cleaned everything after he completed the work. The toilet likes a brand new one after he put it back. He solved my problem completely and kept my house clean. My bathtubs drain fast now. I will not be concern about the bathtub flooding in the next serval years. I am very happy about his work. I strongly recommend Dave to solve your plumbing issues. He is honest and professional. Dawn

Actually received Dave as a referral from He-Man Plumbing. Dave came on-time, was very professional, and got the job done quickly and efficiently. It was a prep sink overflowing. Part of the reason I'm impressed is because I had two other reputable plumbers come and do work. Each didn't seem to get to the root of the issue, and none found the external clean out. Thus their work only lasted about 6 months each. I believe Dave got to the source cause. And he also included in the service I requested, a scoping of the piping from our house to the curb. Something the "Rooter'" outfit claimed likely needed to be replaced. It was, in fact, in excellent condition, as I watched the screen as the camera went through the pipe...actually to under the street. I thought Dave's price was reasonable, and he charges by the project - not the time, which is much more transparent, IMHO. So highly recommended. I will update this after 6 months or so.

Dave’s Plumbing & Drain Services are exceptional both in customer service and technician abilities! I cannot say enough good things about this company. I live in a far away area that is difficult to receive services. Dave’s Plumbing & Drain Services did not hesitate to take my call and schedule an appointment for two days later. I needed an on demand water heater serviced, flushed and the temperature increased. Raymond went above and beyond making sure everything was done and running smoothly. Wonderful guy as well. Erica who took my call was probably the best customer service person I have ever talked with. I come from a high tech background so I understand the importance of the first person you talk with in a company. She truly impressed me with her kindness and professionalism. David Diaz just did an amazing job that turned out to be very complex. I thought it was just a backed up toilet/sewer line in my apartment. But it was much more -- a dead sump pump (and full sump -- yuk!) that I did not even know was needed for my apartment. He's smart, figured through the problem one step at a time till he got to the bottom of it (and what a messy bottom it was). Another thing too ... this was an emergency that could not be left till it was finished. His next customer called about him being 5 minutes late and was quite rude (I heard it all on speaker phone...). David handled that with grace and professionalism. I don't know about price. That is for the landlord. But service and intelligence and professionalism, I can recommend David Diaz on all those.
