We’ve had an exceptional experience with Dauenhauer for both plumbing and HVAC issues. The technicians are kind, efficient and explain things very well. Dan Grissett came by today to help with our furnace/HVAC and solved the issue day of while another company told us it would take 6 weeks for double the price. Always impressed with their service and highly recommend!

Both Jeremy and Eric came to our house today and did a great job repairing an irregularly with our water pressure and water heater. Jeremy found our PSI to be high, around 120-130 psi where the normal range is supposed to be around 60. He then helped us determine whether or water company or builder had installed a PRV. After some time we were able to find out we did not have a PRV and he also highly recommended we get a water heater expansion tank which would help prevent any failure of the pressure valve. Through all of this process he was extremely patient and understanding due to our many questions. Overall he was amazing and I find him to be an excellent employee and an asset to the Dauenhauer team. Once Jeremy assessed the issue and developed a plan of action he passed our case on to Eric. Eric arrived on time and had already reviewed Jeremy’s notes and was very knowledgeable of what needed to be done. Before even unloading he went and studied the area and evaluated everything. Once he knew exactly how he wanted to perform the install and had his action plan, he began his work. He was very meticulous and proficient. He was knowledgeable and patient with the questions I had for him. Overall both men; Jeremy and Eric performed an excellent job and were professional, polite, and proficient in their jobs. I truly appreciate the Dauenhauer team for coming out and making my home safe again for me and my children. Although it took a little bit more time than expected, the job was done right and professionally.

Tech was scheduled between 10-2 he showed up around 3:40 no communication what so ever on being delayed except when I called numerous times wasn’t able to complete due to supply house about to close at 4. Tech said he’d be back at 10am next day didn’t show up until almost 3pm and still charged full price. And still no communication what so ever on being late 2 days straight and being charged full price.

Property Damage Caused by Improper Installation of Emergency Sump Pump I am filing this complaint against Dauenhauer Plumbing regarding significant water damage to my basement that appears to have been caused by the improper installation of my emergency (secondary) sump pump by their company. On Sunday, March 8, 2026, I noticed that my main sump pump was running continuously without shutting off, which was abnormal. Because I had a newer emergency (secondary) sump pump installed as a backup, I unplugged the main pump to prevent possible damage and contacted Dauenhauer Plumbing to schedule an inspection for the following day. On Monday, March 9, 2026, at approximately 8:30 a.m., I heard an unusual sound coming from the sump pump area in my basement. When I investigated, I discovered water forcefully discharging from piping connected to what appeared to be the emergency (secondary) sump pump system. I immediately contacted Dauenhauer Plumbing, and a plumber arrived within approximately 30 minutes and stopped the water flow. According to the plumber who responded, the emergency (secondary) sump pump had been installed incorrectly. He also stated that he found nothing wrong with the main sump pump. He initially believed the discharge line might be clogged and cut the exterior line to inspect it, but there was no standing water in the discharge line. The plumber then stated that he believed the underground discharge line might be broken and offered to arrange excavation. Instead, I suggested a temporary above-ground discharge solution to move water away from the foundation. The plumber went to Lowe's, purchased flexible piping, returned, connected it, charged me for the materials and labor, and then left. As a result of this incident, my basement sustained water damage, including: Basement flooring saturated with water Drywall/sheetrock wet Insulation wet Possible defect or damage to the main sump pump I have photographs and video of the incident and damage. I have also contacted my homeowner's insurance company, State Farm, and they advised me to begin emergency mitigation with PuroFirst. That process is currently underway. I have made multiple attempts to contact management at Dauenhauer Plumbing regarding this matter and have not received a return call or meaningful response. Given the seriousness of the damage and the fact that their own plumber acknowledged the emergency sump pump had been installed incorrectly, this lack of response is unacceptable.

Mike Hill with Danhauer just came in response to some issues we have been having. We had an issue with our toilet, shower, and our washer, and bc it was more than one thing, we were concerned it could be something related to the main line. He was thorough, knowledgeable, and HONEST! He had multiple ways to diagnose and rule out issues, and he took time to hear the various issues thoroughly and ask questions. He really seems to understand the finer details of plumbing and he explained the issues we were experiencing and also laid out the options for addressing those issues to us. We were nervous to have to call a plumber because we have experienced many companies in various fields trying to sell us things that are not necessary while using fear or pressure to get us to make a decision. We are so grateful Mike did not operate that way, and we have found our go-to for plumbing issues!!! He said he works Fridays through Mondays. We plan to ask for him by name and will be recommending him to friends. We are also grateful that Danhauer operates in a way that allows employees to be honest rather than attempting to sell services for nonexistent issues. We feel skeptical and jaded because of other experiences, but it’s such an encouragement to see that there are still companies that deliver ethical and honest service.

April 20 and 21, 2026 On April 21 we found an eight foot circle of water around the floor drain in our cellar. We have a whole house dehumidifier that drains into this so there was clearly an issue with the drain, or so we assumed. We called Dauenhauer Plumbing (a company we have used since moving to our current house for all HVAC, Electrical and Plumbing needs) and they scheduled that day between 10:00 and 2:00. Plumber Chris Han was sent and spent several hours cleaning out the floor drain line and main drain line. Ultimately he determined that the lines were clear to our septic holding tank where a pump sends the water up hill to the main city sewer line. At this point, Chris determined that the pump had stopped working. Furthermore the pump was very undersized (it pre-existed our purchase of the house). Chris consulted with MSD to determine the pump we needed and purchased a new much larger pump on April 22. He arrived back that afternoon and had us working within 2 hours with the new installation in the holding tank in our front yard. This was an expensive repair because of the cost of the pump and Chris went the extra mile negotiating with the supplier and saving us about $1100 on the pump's price.

Their plumber Robert Compton did a great job of getting the installation of (2) 50 gallon water heaters installed quickly and efficiently. Our existing water heater broke down and was in need of replacing asap. There were also several installation issues with the previous water I had noticed and they made sure to correct those on this instal. He provided great advice and provided multiple options with pricing. He walked through the valving with me to make sure we were on the same page on how to operate and isolated the individual tanks. I was happy that they sent out someone who knew what they were doing. A lot of companies send out a “tech” first who is really only trained in a few areas and they don’t know what to do so you have to end up scheduling another appointment with someone else in the company and end up missing more days of work. They gave me a window of arrival called 30 mins ahead of time and completed installation.

We are relatively new to Louisville and contacted Dauenhauer on a neighbor ‘s recommendation. We’re happy that we did. The technician arrived when he was scheduled to do so, texting us that he was enroute. We were extremely pleased with Jaden Jordan’s work in replacing two bathroom faucets and a kitchen faucet, all in rather tight spaces. He was very pleasant and efficient, and he meticulously cleaned up all traces of his work. All the fixtures are exactly straight (even the brand names on the sink stoppers are perfectly aligned!), and we appreciate his attention to detail. We’ll ask for him should we need other plumbing work.

I recently had my old 2009 water heater replaced, and Eric Yost from Dauenhauer made the entire process smooth and stress-free. He took the time to clearly explain the issue and walked me through all the available options before I decided on a 50-gallon electric water heater. Eric was extremely knowledgeable, professional, and efficient — the installation was done quickly and with great attention to detail. I really appreciated how responsive and supportive the whole Dauenhauer team was throughout the process. Highly recommend Eric and Dauenhauer for anyone needing plumbing services!

Jeremiah Vanmeter did such a great job! We just needed a faucet change in our kitchen but it turned out to be more complicated than originally thought due to all the rust. He still got the job done well. He even showed up with little shoe covers before stepping inside to keep our floors clean! This was our first experience hiring a plumber and we were worried about how it might go. We will definitely keep them in mind for future needs. When dauenhauer installed our AC unit, they didn’t have a filter frame to fit the space needed. Assured us they would have one made and bring it out to finish the install. Never did. They also used improper size liquid lines causing the system to fail within 6 years. SEVERAL attempted calls to get the problem resolved and now I’ve given up dealing with them and gone to another company to clean up the mess

Justin and Elijah were excellent. Justin kept me informed throughout the process and explained what was happening at each step. They showed me the work before and after completion and confirmed everything was functioning properly prior to sealing the ejector. If any future service is needed, I would greatly appreciate having Justin and/or Elijah assigned to the job.

Big shout-out to Hunter, who arrived to diagnose an unusual plumbing problem. Hunter "thought outside the box", and after investigating several potential causes, and after consulting with HQ, quickly and correctly found the issue. He applied a fast, temporary fix while I decide on a permanent one. Great Job!

They came through for us right when we needed it. Our toilet wasn’t working properly just before friends arrived for Derby, and they were out first thing in the morning. Professional, efficient, no-nonsense service, and the work was high quality at a very reasonable price. Would definitely use them again.
