Emergency and burst pipe repair

What To Watch Out For

Critical HVAC design failure: One reviewer reports furnace oversized for ductwork causing short-cycling and overheating. Company recommended problematic workaround (converting return to supply) rather than correctly sizing unit upfront, contradicting competitor advice.

Follow-through breakdown: Customer promised furnace replacement within 3-4 weeks in December 2025; 6+ months later (as of June 2026) replacement never completed.

Installation quality gaps: Incomplete work includes missing PVC elbow on exhaust pipe left unpaired after major HVAC installation.

Poor problem diagnosis: Initial furnace flame-out issue (May 2025) was not properly investigated; technician said he'd follow up but condition was later confirmed as abnormal.

Carlos and Chris were the nicest and most professional guys that we have ever let in our home. They responded to our call quickly and came when they said they would and had our sink up and running in less than an hour. Very courteous and respectful gentleman. Could not be more pleased with their work and they didn't take advantage of us when it came to payment. Very affordable prices for great quality work. Highly recommend this business for any plumbing needs. We will definitely be using them in the future. They will be our forever plumbers.

Great work from Close Comfort again! We called them back to service our heating system and make some modifications for us. They did a great job, (as always) and now we will be running more efficiently and have much more space available to work in. Always great to work with this company. They are reliable, responsive, reasonable and always put the customer first. Thanks again Close Comfort! God Bless you guys! 🙏

Let me start off by saying I chose these guys because, from what I could see, most of the customer feedback was positive and the work appeared professional. They were also charging me significantly less than the other two companies I approached for quotes. The main reason for purchasing a new HVAC system was because the old system had a cracked heat exchanger. In addition, the AC system was 20 years old and running low on refrigerant. The first problem started right away (May 2025). The flames would shut off when the blower motor started ramping up — almost every single time. Carlos said he was going to get back to me on whether that was normal operation or not. After he came back to check the refrigerant level for the cooling system, he told me that it was not normal for the flames to go out. The AC system worked perfectly fine throughout the summer (that was probably sized). Then winter came, and the furnace started acting up again. The furnace was short-cycling and overheating due to being oversized for my ductwork. I found this out after troubleshooting it myself and researching online what could possibly be wrong. Their solution was to remove a return from one of the rooms and convert it into a supply. I refused to pay for that work (which turned out to be a good decision) because, in my opinion, making the system work as designed should have been part of the installation. This added supply made my room uncomfortably hot whenever the door was closed, and it did not fix the overheating problem long-term. If I had known ahead of time that the size I approved was not going to work properly, I would not have approved the installation. I had mentioned the possibility of finishing my basement in the future, and that was supposedly the reason I was given a larger furnace. If that was truly the reason, then why wasn’t I also given a larger AC system? I explained the same situation to the other two companies I received quotes from, and they recommended units similar — if not nearly identical — in size to my old system because that’s what my home size and ductwork could properly handle. It has now been over a year since the installation. I was told the furnace would be replaced within 3 to 4 weeks after the last time they were here and added the additional supply (December 2025). That was 6 months ago. Winter came and went, and I ended up spending money myself to make the necessary changes just to get the system to operate at least half decently. Oh, and there’s still a PVC elbow missing for the exhaust pipe outside. I would’ve hope for a different experience since these guys are local and did always kept it respectful.

Carlos and Chris were both friendly and professional. They quickly got my hot water back on and even handled the warranty process with the manufacturer, saving me hundreds on parts. Their pricing was very competitive compared to others. Highly recommend!
