They refer out to preferred plumbing I called PP was told I would be put on the emergency list at no extra charge about two hours later I get a call asking if I called yes two hours ago then nothing about an hour and a half later I get a text asking to rate their service what service I am still waiting for a technician to come over. A total of FIVE HOURS later the technician calls can I meet him I said no gotta go to work been waiting all day I explain the problem there is water in the gutter and on the sidewalk he says oh it's just damp not too bad. Really the meter was spinning crazy STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!
I called for a appointment on Saturday and a gentlemen answered the phone I didnt no he was the BOSS!!! He told he was giving me an appt. for Wednesday DEC 23,2015 between 10and12 the plumber would be here WELL I'LL BE DAMN THE BOSS NEVER MADE MY APPT!!! SO THE WOMEN ANSWERING THE PHONE SAY SHE DOESN"T HAVE ME DOWN FOR AN APPT FOR TODAY BUT MAYBE SHE CAN GET SOMEONE OUT LATER TODAY BETWEEN 4 AND 6 BUT I TOLD I SHOULDN't have to pay for your boss Mistake!!! SO BASICALLY she told if i didn"t pay the higher rate then she couldn"t help me and hung up!!! But before she hung up she did give me another number to a different plumbing company that was nice!!! And the first time i used this company they where great the plumber Chuck was wonderful really nice man new what he was doing and got the job done!! It took little bit longer cause the BOSS kepted calling him and asking what was he doing and when will he be done!!!!! REALLY DIDN'T THINK I WAS GOING TO HAVE ANY PROBLEMS THIS TIME BUT I GUESS THE BOSS DOESN'T NO WHAT HE IS DOING!
The quality of customer service with this company is slipping. I hope that you never get Gabriel as a technician. I have had this guy to my property twice. I complained about him after the first time he worked at my property because he is rude only to have them send him to me again. It is very confusing how sometimes this company charges by the hour and sometimes they try to bid the job. Be careful when they bid the job because the price goes up drastically. Gabriel almost walked off with my sink strainer. If I hadn't followed him to his van it would of left my property. For the cost of a visit the experience should not need to be micro managed by me. I had to ask him three times about it before he realized he almost did this. I was told blatantly by him that he could do the job in 10 minutes and the parts were under $10 but he needs to bid it or he will make no money. He kept referring to himself not making money. I don't know if the employees are paid by the job or the hour. Maybe they get perks for making the company more. I have no idea but he kept saying he makes no money which was odd. He kept really wanting to argue with me and I had to eventually just walk away. I have used this company for many years now. They have done probably a dozen jobs on my apartment building. My issue is inconsistent pricing based off of which plumber comes to your property. Something cost this amount one month and the next month it is almost double because they bid it. I know because I have a 12-plex and a lot of similar repairs come up over and over again. Your end price depends on how much of your time you want to spend debating with them. Talking to the receptionists is time wasting. They wasted a ton of my time. They pretend to listen and then all the info you give them about your scenario isn't properly explained to the manager. Finally got an email from Rick (manager?) who wanted to change my price and completely lost what I was frustrated with in the end even after going into depth to explain it to two receptionist. This company use to have a really good reputation for quality & customer service. It is all slipping now. The number one issues most people have with plumbers is they feel swindled by them. Most plumbers use the fact that somebody has to have a repair done soon to their advantage. This company use to not be like this but now they are exactly like this. Pressure sales. It seems just like so many things Covid has changed them. I'm going to try another company next time I need a repair. Hoping there is a better plumbing company out there. Hoping I can find somebody in this day and age that uses more technology to make the work on my end less. I'd like to be able to submit a job via a text or an app and follow it's progress via a text or an app. Instead I got to always pick up the phone and deal with a clueless receptionist that always needs to ask somebody else.
I can't believe I haven't reviewed JR's Plumbing sooner. These guys are worth their weight in gold! We live in a mid century home with it's original plumbing combined with some Mcgyver-esque "improvements" the previous owners did over the years. The first time we used their services I found them on Yelp. Our situation was a clog, that turned into something bigger. It ended up being a major clog that required Scott going underneath the house and cutting out and replacing a section of pipe. And since he was here he also replaced the p-trap of our utility sink and a couple other small things that we asked for. The quote was reasonable, the service was excellent and the work is holding up well. Then we had an incident where a disposable toilet brush got flushed down the toilet. Again, old pipes, old toilet. Cedric suggested it would be more cost effective to replace the toilet than try to repair. It was an old toilet, so no love lost there. Within a couple hours we had a shiny new toilet expertly installed. No mess left in the bathroom, great communication and again at a reasonable price. Then, last week we needed JR Plumbing once again for our little old house. Our water pressure went to absolute crap within the last month. Scott walked around and cleared the lines that he could in the bathroom sink and shower. But the kitchen faucet was too full of rust and corrosion to clear so he suggested we get a new one. I hated that faucet honestly, so within a couple hours he put a shiny new faucet. And also fixed a small leak under the same sink by replacing a corroded washer. Again our pipes aren't easy to work with. He put in a lot of effort getting the old faucet out which I appreciate. He also let us know that the only real fix at some point is to repipe. But there was no pressure from in the form of upsells or fear based sales tactics. Just honest advice. Which I appreciate so much. And having the new faucet and repairs done by JR Plumbing cost less than just buying a new faucet. Lastly, it's very easy to make an appointment by phone. They have a dedicated person who always answer the phones and they are very quick to schedule an appointment when time is of the essence. (Ahem, one bathroom house). And they take Credit Cards. Which is great when you have a plumbing emergency. If I have to pay for a repair, it's always nice to get Amex points/miles out of it.
While taking a shower the handle broke off before The water turned all the way off. Water was then dripping through the hole from the missing handle. Before calling Jr's Plumbing, home warranty and home owners insurance were no help. For 3 days I had to use the kids shower and we had to manually turn water on and off from the outside because remember water was still running in my shower going into the wall. Exhausted and frustrated, I called a few plumbing services who all thought I may have to take down the tile on shower wall to get access to the pipes, THEY WERE NOT AVAILABLE ANYWAY! I called Jr's Plumbing and they were able to come out the next day, however the first technician thought he could fix the problem but could NOT because a blow torch was needed. He did insure us that the company has a guy that works with blow torches and would come by the following day. That's when Scott showed up!! He did disclose that when using the blow torch and working with a small opening that if something went wrong, they would not be responsible. I literally had no choice but to give the go ahead. Scott is a professional blow torch handler because in less than 30 seconds he succeeded in getting the stubborn piece off with blow torch and was on his way to the hardware store to get me a new shower handle set. He was back in no time, replaced hardware, got it working, cleaned up after himself and thanked me for my patience. What I paid for this service was way cheaper than taking the shower tile down and drilling through the wall. And I was able to take a shower in my own bathroom after 4-5 days! This company did not tey to scam me or charge me some crazy price! I will def call again if needed. Thank you Scott!! If you think thats good, Jr's plumbing-Scott- came back out free of charge to look at my water pressure. OMG!!
Last August 25, 2015 , I needed a plumber for my restaurant in Vallejo . I found Christian Plumbing at Yelp . Very good reviews .the business name itself CHRISTIAN PLUMBING and their logo of the Holy Cross made me decide to avail of their services . After a few hours I booked the service , Jasmine dispatched Anthony to the site and checked the water heater . He billed us $500 and we paid him in cash . He said he will be back the next day to check on it again and bring with him the receipt . He came back as promised but he said the receipt will be emailed and gave us a business card . He never showed up. I called Jasmine and told her the water heater wasn't fixed . And we needed a receipt. She denied having sent anyone but said she will tell Anthony about it . Anthony came back the next day and assured us there was a warranty . He wasn't able to fix it !! We called Jasmine the other day . To my surprise she denied having had any transaction with us . And said there was no warranty as Anthony no longer works with them . I had to pay $88 per hour or $109 per hour if after 5 pm. I agreed . She booked me the next day December 2 between 11 and 3 pm . I waited but no one came . I called Jasmine and she said the technician came by 2X but employees said water heater was working well . She suggested I call Preferred Plumbing , who are much better . This pissed me off !! I smell something wrong . Owner is not aware there is another business going on in his business ! Be careful yelpers ! Don't be deceived by the business name , 5 star reviews and their Holy Cross logo . Pay by check or by card and get a written warranty !!
Scott is the best! I recently moved into a house in Vallejo that had a loose toilet and the home inspector said that it was possible that it could be caused by some kind of damage under the toilet. Another plumber quoted me up to 450.00 for fixing whatever was wrong without even checking under the toilet. Scott assured me that it wouldn't cost anywhere near 450 to fix and in fact quoted me 135. He not only fixed the loose toilet, replaced the missing/broken parts but also took the time to walk around the rest of the house with me and explain what I could do myself to troubleshoot problems in the future. As a first time home owner, you have no idea how relieved I was to get this walk through. He showed me our water main. How to cut off the water in an emergency. He told me about the temperamental water heater brand that we have that is prone to having the pilot light go out and suggested solutions that would be easy for us to do ourselves. He even checked our sump pump and explained how it works and how to check it. We talked about how I was drawn to call his company because it used to be called Christian plumbing and he told me a heartwarming story about how his employer runs the business without trying to overcharge customers. For $135.00 I got a lot of helpful information, my toilet got fixed and I got a heartwarming story. Sounds like a great deal to me. My husband and I agreed that if we have any plumbing issues in the future we will definitely be calling these guys!! If I could give them 10 stars I would!
They could not fix my problem; so, why the 5 star?... because of the professionalism and people skills of the tech. I believe his name was Scott, but i assure you he will remember me because of the situation. It was a rainy day, my main sewage drain line backed up and i was calling everyone that i could find to come snake the line for me.... Scott (i think) was the only person that actually came out. He showed up, to the unincorporated/county section of Glen Cove, and despite the rain, said "let's take care of your drain and get you flowing again" (or something to that effect). Long story short, in his effort to fix my problem, he broke his new 300 dollar cable and was SOL because my line was collapsed; essentially, he had wasted his time for nothing as he could not snake my line. Ultimately, it became apparent that someone at the office misquoted me for the price of the job, and despite this, Scott (or the tech, if it was not a scott) was super courteous and respectful. Super kudos to this tech. He deserves a raise! Seriously! Even though he didn't fix my problem, i will never call another plumber besides him, and I will refer him to all of my friends and family for every plumbing issue that reveals itself! Great job man! If your bosses are reading this, print this and save it in his file for his next review; ALL YOUR TECHS SHOULD ASPIRE TO BE LIKE THIS TECH!
An electrician doing work in my attic (slab foundation house) knocked a gas line and caused a gas leak. JR's P&D performed after hours emergency work. I called at 5:00pm and the plumber was on site at 7:30pm -- the same day! After an initial assessment, he explained the overall plan and then as each step progressed, provided me an update on what he did and what he would do next. When PG&E arrived on site around 9:30pm to turn the gas back on, he walked the utility technician through everything he did and re-checked every gas appliance. The attic crawl space is horrific (very narrow, gabling that impedes access, hot as hell, etc.) but the plumber, Derek, took it on like a champ and never complained, even when he had to cut out the existing hard gas line (with little or no room to saw the pipe or swing a hammer) and replace it with flex line. He put his ALL into it and hustled! Not a moment wasted! Since the offending electrician was picking up the repair cost, the office staff were very helpful in coordinating his payment. Also, their dispatch checked in with me frequently, providing updates on the plumbers ETA from the time I called, around 5:00pm, until they arrived on site. All told, he was VERY courteous, extremely respectful and even laughed at my jokes :-) Nice, professional young man. Great response time and good work performed.
As a property management company we use JRs Plumbing for all our plumbing and drainage needs and we have always found them reasonable and reliable. However recently I had the need for a plumber to repair my shower at home. Having checked out the problem on You Tube I self diagnosed the problem as being a broken shower cartridge. Of course I called JRs knowing the company. They told me that the repair would cost between 450. - 550.00 inc. I told them to go ahead. Unexpectantly the plumber called at my house on Saturday(double time I thought but the job needed to be done). The technician stripped the unit down and advised me that the cartridge was in fine working order but calcium was the problem. He cleaned the unit, lubricated and gave me advice. And only charged me the normal hourly rate. Fantastic. So not only was the technician professional, courteous and honest (he could have quite easily have ripped me off by charging me for a new shower cartridge something which has happened to me before with plumbers) but he was extremely reasonably priced, especially for a Saturday call out. I might add that the technician did not know that I worked for the property company. All in all I would whole heartedly recommend JRs Plumbing for price, professionalism and service.
01/24/22- Kitchen sink clogged on my parent's house and I knew right away who to call! Called to setup an appointment (thank you Cedric for setting the appointment- very nice and humble guy) for a sink that has a clog and an outside part of the pipe needed to retread as the rusts ate the tread part of it- unable to close. Miguel came and gave the price tag before he start the work which is 174$. He snaked the clog from the outside down to the drain. They don't retread the rusty opening, as it could result to more damage but instead placed a plastic cap that seals the opening without a leak. He is on time. Adrianna (receptionist) called 15mins before his arrival which is around 10:15am. 9am-11am is my time frame. Miguel explained really well what needs to be done and he is knowledgable of his job. Neat work, organize with his tools, wore his mask and work diligently the whole time. Honest and went above and beyond! He had to get the needed cap twice as the butterfly kind leaked and replaced it with a different one! Thank you and see you next time for whatever family's plumbing needs may arise! Service that can be trusted! Now, I am not scared if ever I will have plumbing problems in the future, but always looking forward to get the best service! Excellent job once again!
JR's Plumbing again saved the day, with Cedric Johnson to the rescue! This morning Roto quoted $385 to snake my house's main drain from the clean-out to the street (less than 90 feet, more like 50 even if you go all of the way to the manhole). I was so shocked! They came down to $301 but I still couldn't do it. I called and got a much better quote, but I wanted to see what JR's would say since they'd done such a great job on a fix for me last year. The woman I spoke to quoted a number much lower right over the phone! Not only that, Cedric, who helped me last year, was available and came by half an hour later! All done in under an hour for a price less than half of the other quotes I got. I am so very pleased and will definitely recommend JR's and Cedric to my neighbors! In June 2018 I had a slow kitchen leak from the washer. Cedric Johnson found the problem super quick, switched out the leaky pipe fast and gave me a fair price. He was as helpful as you could ask for! Unlike the competitor, there was no upselling or nonsense, just genuine, honest assistance. JR's understood what needed doing and got it done!
