Chesapeake Plumbing did an outstanding job replacing my water heater. They were prompt, knowledgeable, and very professional. The installation went extremely smooth, and they took time to explain everything clearly. Great experience from start to finish. Highly recommend!
Bought a dryer from Home Depot and they didn’t have the tools or parts to properly install my dryer. I called Chesapeake this morning and David and Jack were at my house in less than two hours. They talked me through everything that needed to be done to get my gas dryer properly installed. They were super professional and very thorough. They made sure everything was safely connected and working. I know who I’m calling next time I need plumbing help.
We had the unfortunate event of our hot water heater breaking and partially flooding our basement. Luckily, Chesapeake Plumbing was able to send someone out to install a new hot water heater the next day. They sent a gentleman named David over who was professional, polite, and very knowledgeable. David took extra care to lay down a tarp so that our floors wouldn't get dirty during the removal of the old hot water heater and the installation of the new one. The installation went seamlessly and David gave us tips on how to maintain a hot water heater when using well water when we picked his brain. We'd highly recommend Chesapeake Plumbing for your plumbing needs. They were easy to work with, are very knowledgeable in the field, and are very competitively priced. We couldn't be happier with the service that we received and will be sure to use them in the future!
If there was a way to title of my review, I would call it: " The robbery in in the daylight or the laziest plumber we ever hired" Never wrote any reviews. But this was such a bad experience that I would like other people in my area to be aware. We decided to use them since they are local company in Pasadena and we live in the area. I placed work order for the day after Thanksgiving for plumber to come out and replace the kitchen faucet. The plumber John came out in timely manner and walked straight into the kitchen and announced within 5 seconds that the faucet we bought is not going to fit in place of my old one. Okay, I bought the wrong faucet. My mistake. I offered the plumber to run to Home depot which is 2 minutes from my house and grab another faucet so he can put it in. John told us to order faucet from online stores. Then he kept talking and talking for 30 minutes about the wrong faucet that we bought. We asked him to fix at least the little drip from the old faucet, to which he replied that this will cost more than the old faucet (to replace a worn out washer on the faucet?). I thought he just gonna leave. But he went to his truck and spent another 5 minutes to write us a receipt of $135. For what????????? I called the company and they said they will charge me again at least $120 to come out. WOW. The "plumber" John did not do anything. If this was honest and decent company, he would have told me upfront that he has to charge me and offered me option to run to Home depot and exchange the faucet since I am already paying for the 1 hour of work anyways. Instead he chose to spend 30 minutes telling me to order a faucet online, spent 5 minutes writing receipt and left bunch of dirt from his boots on my carpet.
I called three plumbers to quote replacing all the piping in our home for 3 baths and a kitchen. I hired Chesapeake Plumbing because of the owner seemed to be knowledgeable and they had office staff with some tenure. I figured you don't get to be a sustainable business without quality field work. Today I paid them to leave for the last time. They left the jobsite (our home) filthy during the work. They didn't know how to set a bathtub. The last straw was fixing a leaking drain. I found dirt on the inside of the union that was removed and a broken coupling from over-tightening. Pipe dope was used to seal the threads. Its plumbing 101. The threads don't do the sealing.
I have never written a review before and I am not the type of person that complains. But chesapeake plumbing came out to my house a month ago and completely destroyed my kitchen. They were supposed to be putting a salon sink in for me using my kitchen sinks plumbing. All seemed good when the plumber left, until two days later my kitchen sink started to leak and flood my kitchen. I called chesapeake and they sent someone out. He literally spent 2 seconds tightening something and claimed the problem was fixed. The next day it began leaking again only worse. I called them again, they sent a different guy out. He was rude and acted like I was wrong for calling. He said it was not their fault and had nothing to do with what they had done the week before He of course said they could fix it but it would cost us... I had a budget of $700 for the services I received. Had I known they would completely destroy my kitchen and cost me hundreds of dollars I don't have, I would've never gotten this sink put in in the first place. After the second man left it continued leaking off and on for 2 weeks but we just dealt with it. Yesterday my dishwasher stopped draining, now my kitchen sink will not drain. And then I walk over to my salon sink to find it completely backed up to the brim with dirty water and that also will not drain. My kitchen is not even usable at this point, neither is my dishwasher or the sink I paid $700 to have installed a few weeks ago. I am waiting on a call back from Chesapeake plumbing and I expect the problem to be fixed free of charge considering this is solely their fault and I had no issues with my kitchen sink, or my dish washer prior to them coming I will gladly change my review if the problem is handled accordingly.
Chesapeake Plumbing is a dishonest company. I have had a leak in my bathroom and before I chose to hire them I tried to properly vet them. I told them about my leak and asked if they did drywall repair. I told them that the cabinets needs be removed to see the plumbing. I specifically asked will I get a complete job to get this done, I was assured that I would. After there installer was already there for an hour he calls me to discuss the project and then I find out that they don't do caulking or drywall repairs. I said I asked for a complete job, it's fine that your company doesn't do it but why say that you do to get a job? Be honest in the first place because I wouldn't have hired them. He suggested that I replace the wax ring and tighten the shower arm, they did that and left. That did not work and I still have a leak. They are saying it may be the caulking. They did not remove the cabinet to check the pipes for leaks. Now they are charging me almost $300 to replace a wax ring and tighten shower arm without fixing my problem. I talked to the owner to tell him my concerns and told him my vetting procedure. He flat out called me a liar and accused me of trying to get out of paying my bill and threaten to call the health department. If they did not lie to me in the first place and promising me a complete job I would have gotten someone else. Do not trust these people they will lie to get a job!
I was very pleased with the work that David from Chesapeake Plumbing, Inc. did. The one toilet had been spraying a fine mist which I felt might be the beginning of a leak and the handle on the shower had been difficult for me to turn on; I had to put a good deal of pressure on it for the water to come out. David replaced the toilet valve as it was indeed damaged and replaced the cartridge in the shower handle which was a bit corroded as well as cracked a bit. The one outstanding aspect of David was his ability to communicate well. He patiently answered all my questions and even explained in detail what he had done even though I did not ask him to do so. It was evident to me, as a retired educator, that he was very knowledgeable about his work and appeared appreciative that he had helped me when I thanked him for a job well done! I have done business with Chesapeake Plumbing, Inc. for years and would highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for a company that does excellent work for reasonable prices.
I had a leak associated with my refrigerator which led David to the discovery of extensive pipe cracks taking sewage from under my house. Jake helped me find a Water Damage company to initiate a remediation. Chesapeake could not even get to the initial repair until the area was drained and dried. Once that process was completed Jake and Billy returned to replace the cast iron pipe with a PVC pipe. Since the whole area was in a dirt crawl space about 4 feet high, they had to cut a hole through my bedroom floor to determine the length of the damaged pipe. They came promptly and were reassuring to work with… quickly responding to texts I sent off hours. Additionally Billy discovered a leaky toilet I wasn’t aware of. And Jake found a bracelet in my driveway that I lost weeks earlier and given up on finding. Every call I made to the company was met with empathy and quick response. They always accommodated my schedule. So I would say I had the very best possible experience given all the problems encountered.
Our new renters called one day to say that water was leaking from the bathtub overflow drain downstairs and through the vent. Since we live about an hour away I looked online to find several plumbers to call. Several never responded or had full mailboxes (one hasn't called back even though it's been over 24 hours). Chesapeake was willing to send someone out but when I started asking about the details of what the problem likely was, one of the staff explained the process, which sounded rather simple. I asked if this could be a do it yourself project and she responded yes (if you are handy). I really appreciated that they didn't steer me towards business to gain profit. So far we did try our own fix by replacing the gasket, and it seems to be working. If not, then I've reached my limit if what I personally would do without a plumber and will call them, as I appreciated their honesty before. I give 4 stars based on their helpful conversation - though I've not yet had anything serviced by them.
Truly excellent service! Absolutely will be our go-to plumbing service going forward. My mother's traditional water heater was failing and needed to be replaced. Her appliance insurance company had provided her with company options that were charging an arm and a leg or that would take a few weeks to get to her. I found Chesapeake Plumbing based on their high Google reviews and reached out. They had an expert there in just a couple days, provided a fair quote for a new tankless water heater, and even did the installation THAT SAME DAY! Furthermore, my mother likes to ask lots of questions and understand everything as best as possible. She said that Jake was super friendly and did a great job walking her through every step so that she felt confident and comfortable moving forward! Thank you for taking such great care of my mother!
I contracted with Chesapeake Plumbing to divert rain water away from our home and to repair a French drain. The work was not completed as agreed to. The work performed to divert water away from our home backed up a couple of weeks later and resulted in all rain water diverting into our basement. Also, the French drain works worse now. When reporting the issues to the owner I found him very rude. I asked for a refund and the owner of Chesapeake Plumbing refuses to acknowledge that his crew did anything wrong and attempts to place all of the blame on us, the home owners. They have an additional complaint on the BBB web site in which they also place all the blame on the home owners. I advise everyone to avoid this company at all costs.
We received service for a leak observed forming in our dining room. The office administrator was very pleasant and quickly assisted with scheduling us for same day service. Our plumber technician, David, was prompt, thorough, and personable. After removing the wet drywall, David quickly identified the location of the leak in our upstairs bathroom and replaced the piping within an hour of his arrival. We also had the pleasure of having Harrison conduct an inspection of the water damage to determine if mold remediation was required. To our relief, there wasn't any mold remediation required and was given steps to repair the drywall. The entire team was awesome in the service they provided!
I called Chesapeake Plumbing due to a clogging problem another company could not effectively fix. Easy to schedule and came right on time at the early end of the scheduled window. The technician discussed the problem with me before bringing in his equipment. We talked about the problem, the price, and the limits on what he could do -- he even suggested finding out if the previous company provided a warranty and might come back out for free. The results are actually great. The drain works better than at any point since I have been in the house -- almost 13 years. I down-graded a little bit because it was expensive (more than other places I have used). But I am happy the result.
Had to call Chesapeake Plumbing because I had an issue with a different company that had previously come out to look at my problem with toilet leaking down into basement and created mold. Chesapeake plumbing came out same day that I called, were extremely friendly, found out that there was a much bigger issue than we originally thought (and I was so glad because I would have right back in the same boat if not) and they fixed the problem and were on their way. I was so impressed by how courteous and prompt they were. Even calling me to tell me they were on the way to the house. I would definitely use them again.
