I had a great experience with Carson Plumbing. They were honest, hardworking, and they even played with my dogs throughout their visit. I will use Carson Plumbing again.
Jamie & Jackson did phenomenal work at my home. They were so helpful in explaining things I did not understand. They were timely, and got my drains cleared perfectly. On my old house, I'm sure this was no easy task! Huge props to Carson Plumbing.
Nate and Ryan did a fantastic job troubleshooting my upstairs shower leak. They eased my mind that the tile walk in shower that I just installed was sound. The shower pan, shower head connection, and drain were not the cause of the leak. Thank Goodness. It was the shower door bottom track where it ties into the side track had not been properly sealed. I appreciate the determination to find the source of the leak, which did not expose itself immediately. Nate and Ryan showed a great deal of professionalism and care. There are a lot of plumbers in town. As far as I'm concerned Carson Plumbing is the best. I have had them out to my property multiple times and they always beat my expectations. Two days later I had Carson Plumbing out again for an unrelated issue. This time Taylor and Tyler showed up. Once again very professional team. They troubleshot the leak quickly and efficiently. As an added bonus I had some quality conversation with them about our mutual taste in music. Specifically CROWDER.
Had a leak situation and upon calling Carson, the lady on the phone was rude, she sounded annoyed or just was not happy being at work on the Holidays. With such negative customer service experience I would not recommend them to anyone. Looks like their belly’s are full.
We called Carson Plumbing because the pilot light on our gas fireplace wouldn't stay lit. They came out and, after looking at it, told my wife that nothing was wrong and showed her how to light the pilot light. They also cleaned the ceramic logs as a "courtesy." In less than two weeks, we had the same problem again. We called them and asked them to come back out. They said that they would send someone out but would have to charge us again. My wife explained that we had already paid them to fix this problem and they did nothing. They simply repeated that they would have to charge her full price again. Refusing to stand by your work is not only poor customer service but stupid business. Do not expect this company to perform quality work or stand by anything they do.
Updated Review from last month: I changed it from 1 star to 3 star since I received a letter, over a week ago from the company, stating they had changed the billing to exclude the "trip time" that was never mentioned on initial phone call. So, I'm happy they did the right thing and changed the billing but this could have saved a bad review had they done it when I called to question the additional charges. Last Month's Review:This company has upset me enough to do this review!! They are dishonest, will over bill you, and not do satisfactory work!! They were recommended by Rainbow Restoration so I never bothered to check them out. I asked for detail charges when making initial appointment and was quoted $150 first hour and $120 per hour after that and any parts. I had found my leak from a valve coming from water filter to cold water and showed it to the plumber who brought a young man with him. I explained due to couple other problems with one toilet started running and kitchen faucet started to drip occasionally and with a 20 yr old home, I thought my pressure regulator was bad. The plumber removed the valve and went outside but saw the Van driving off. I went to find the young man and he was rebuilding my toilet without even asking me. The appointment was only to fix the leak! I had ask them to check my water pressure and young man did that but was struggling to get the tester on outside faucet and later said my pressure was fine. He couldn't even tell me PSI. I ask him where is the plumber and he told me he went to store to buy parts. The plumber had been in my house for about 15 mins when he left and 25 minutes later, he is back and did not replace the leaky valve but installed o-rings in the valve. They looked like they wete about to leave and I ask about the bill and was told it would be mailed. So plumber was here for 30 minutes and the part was pennies and I was charged $293.24. Called office and ladies explained I was billed $240 for 1.75 hours that includes trip time from their office to my home. This trip time was NEVER mentioned while making the appointment!!! Oh, and I had to turn the toilet OFF because it still leaks and I will get someone else to replace my water pressure regulator and fix my toilet. Called Carson again, today and was sent to Manager Mike and he made me feel like I was lying when he said trip time was explained to me but that was only after I got the bill. When I told him I wanted the $240 reduced to $150/hr....HE ASK WHY (rude) after I explained and even said I never gave permission to work on my toilet!!!! Last time Carson Plumbing, Inc., Athens, GA will get my business!
Basement flooded due to water heater, restoration company had Carson come in to do replacement. Few yrs later problem with water heater called Carson because of warranty. Warranty was in conversation from the initial phone call. Wasn't able to get appt for a week. Tech called me down to basement, repair was done and surprisingly informed previous work wasn't up to code. He replaced wrong PRV and added expansion tank stating should have been initially installed according to code. Thinking they were correcting improper install & warranty I was very surprised when I received a bill for $600 days later. After multi phone calls was informed "They commonly do work that's not up to code because if so they would have to replace all the plumbing in my home". When asked about billing and estimate prior to work was informed "We get called for a job, do the work then send a bill. We don't have time to give estimates". I did get a credit for $49.99 for expansion tank. Overall beware of this company and their practices.
I called this company to repair a plumbing problem. This was a big mistake. The first two men came on a Monday afternoon. They looked at the leak and said they would be back the following day to work on it in depth. No one returned the following day (Tuesday). I called that Wednesday to let someone know that no one returned. Two different men came that afternoon and said they had fixed it, This unfortunately was not the case and actually made the problem worse. I called the company yet again and two different men came. These men said that I needed to call my insurance company to file a a claim and I did. Theses two men could not fix the problem either. I called yet again and spoke with the owner. I complained to the owner and he became defensive. This went on for an entire week. Two different men were then sent. These two finally have claimed the leak is fixed. EIGHT different men came to my home. And now, I have an unnecessary claim on my insurance. You have been warned. Avoid this company.
We notified our leasing agency that we had a water leak in three toilets and they never emailed/called us to let us know a day and time the plumber was coming (leasing agency). The plumber never introduced himself or said what company he was from when I opened the door (which I am sure I had an inquisitive look on my face); his remark was "they didn't let you know I was coming?" No, I'm sorry they didn't tell us a date. He was yelling at us to keep the dogs up (remember this is unexpected visit), which was understandable. I have class at 11am in Oakwood so as I'm walking out the door he says, "I can't wait around all day. I have a job to do, I already finished two toilets." I understand people have bad days but the rudeness and snide remarks were completely uncalled for. I was having a bad morning myself but I wasn't disrespectful.
Carson Plumbing came through again. I just had new countertops and sinks installed, so I needed my new faucets and new garbage disposal installed. I've been calling on Carson Plumbing since I moved to Athens three years ago, and they're outstanding to do business with. From Pete Carson at the top, to Jessica in the office, and to Dwayne and Bo, our actual plumbers, they're all extremely pleasant and professional. But above all else, the plumbing work is excellent, and they stand behind their work. Their pricing is always fair and reasonable. I "might" be able to pay less with a handyman, but I have peace of mind knowing Carson Plumbing does it right and is there when I need them. Thanks Pete and Company, Mark M
We did not want to rave about our great experience until we got the bill. Well the bill came last week and the charges were very reasonable! these are the best plumbers we have used in a long time. Two other plumbers before them would not even go under the house. They would just stand in the bathroom and tell us we had no leaks. Well we did have leaks. 3 of them. And Mike and Tim of Carson fixed them. And did lots of other repairs. They were hard working, competent and good communicators. They got a lot accomplished in 3.5 hours. And the charges were $550. Not bad. Great work. Thanks guys!!! If you want to get your plumbing job done right the first time definitely call these guys.
In spite of the phone lady being short and rude, I still gave this company 5 stars because of all the other employees being so great! Justin Davidson was the BEST in helping me decide about changing from a tankless hot water heater (i have hated since 2009 and what caused major water damage to my home) to tank hot water heater. He was very patient, caring and knowledgeable about the pros and cons of both. Because of water damage, it took 3 different calls to my home and their workers were professional, on time and explained everything. David was my favorite plumber. I like the way they always send a plumber and an assistant to make the job go faster since they bill by the hour.
Three words to describe my experience with this company: unprofessional, unpleasant and unorganized. From the moment I called to set up an appointment, I thought that I should probably just hang up while I was on hold. I wish I had done just that. This company has nonexistent customer service and is completely unorganized with no internal communication. I wish I could comment on their actual plumbing abilities but since my experience was so unsavory before they even got to my house, I told them not to even bother. I suggest calling a different company, as they were a complete waste of my time.
Saturday night, with Christmas a few days away, the refrigerator's water line busted. The cut-off valve to the refrigerator did not work. Water was flooding the kitchen. I called Carson Plumbing after hours. Bo answered my call and said he would fix the problem. That is exactly what he did! Bo arrived when he said he would, quickly identified the problem, and alleviated the disaster. Before his departure, Bo provided sage advice on how to secure this from never happening again. I will take heed. Thank you Carson Plumbing for being an exceptional quality plumbing service, and thank you for Bo!
We had a kitchen remodel and needed other plumbing repairs and installations that included a gas line and hot water tank installation. Carson performed all services in a professional, efficient, and friendly manner. The charges seemed reasonable for the work performed. This was all a very pleasant surprise based on the general level of service you see nowadays; we almost never write reviews, but Carson was just terrific. We want to give out a big "Thank-You" to David, Ryan, Holly. and Tina for the excellent service.
