Have a serious sewer or water line issue? These are the guys. They are the best! They were not daunted by an issue of long standing regarding a broken sewer pipe that was causing issues well beyond unpleasant. Other companies did not seem to know how to solve the issue without massive unnecessary work. They couldn’t even find where the breaks in the pipe were. All they did was tell us how long the run is, like I didn’t know that, how it’s an old pipe, also not news, and that they couldn’t really give a quote. Calumet City came out, identified two breaks and their exact locations within an hour. Other companies couldn’t even figure out how to scope the line, and did not understand that the line had two clean outs. They didn’t know what that was in the backyard, and said it would have to go. It didn’t and it is an integral component to the system. It’s the second clean out for an unusually long run. And they believed me when I said there was a broken rodder in the line, and they identified that it was the cause of the breaks in the first place. And that had to have happened a long time ago. We’ll never know just who did the damage. They prepared a very fair quote in a very timely fashion that included all aspects of the work. This included the entire job, like new concrete, and even the garage door weather strip, so everything is as it was. Other companies only really offered recommendations for most of the work. These other companies also wanted open-ended contracts, so they could charge whatever they wanted. Do people really not understand what could result by signing a contract like that? It was well worth living with an issue until we found a company, the right company, that knows about old, and new, sewer and water lines. So glad we did wait, even if it was unpleasant. The team leader and team were terrific. They are all knowledgeable, arrive on time, friendly, have a sense of humor while doing pretty unpleasant work. And they took the time to explain what was going on before, during, and after. Understand, there are many companies that will tell you issues like an old broken sewer line will cost tens of thousands, maybe more. And from what was actually done that solved this long standing problem, those companies would not only have cost me well over treble the cost, but would have caused a whole lot of damage, and maybe the building. They said they’d need to tear out part of a fence, tear up a large established garden, and tear up the concrete floor of a large garage. One company wanted to completely reroute the entire line and tear up the basement, the long driveway and the newly done street and new sewer and water lines. They didn’t even know where to get an excavator of the proper size. And all they need to do was look from that second clean out they didn’t understand to find the problem. They wouldn’t do that when I asked them to. They gave excuses as to why they couldn’t. Thank you Calumet City! I am so glad that the city I live in uses your company to service the city’s water and sewer lines, and sent you guys to fix an issue they had with our water feed. And though the city didn’t tell me you were coming, your team looked to find me until they found the owner, before they started. With two large buildings, that took some looking. I am so glad the guys did. What a pleasure working with you was. And no “Hey Little Girl, what’s on your little mind.” Thank you for the respect and honesty.

I had an opportunity to see this team in action today. They were working on a busted main line in an apartment complex. The three man team was working diligently to restore the water to the building in the bitter cold. They were all friendly and professionally going about their business. Each shook my hand and introduced themselves. Pretty impressive group.

They are a cheap easy way to fix any problem

Let me just say, Jake and the other guys were great no complaints, but Jeremey is terrible, he is a liar. he didn't do a follow-up I had to reach out to him. he quoted me 5800 then 6495 then said he never said that, he said more other stuff but don't care to comment on it. so, I didn't need all the work done that was on the proposal, he refuse to give me some money back, So I had to reach out to the owner Moe, nice guy and very understanding he returned 800 of my money back. But after comparing other company's for the work that was done I was beat out of a lot of money. 4 different company' said no more than 2500 this this type of job. And for Jeremey to say his guys was union he had to pay them (REALLY). Lesson Learned.

This company did a sloppy job replacing a water meter. Mr. Traynor has a bad attitude. Not friendly at all. He did not relight the pilot for the hot water heater. Now my tenants do not have hot water. The lines need to be bleed for sediment and now there’s low water pressure. Very sloppy and unprofessional company. Don’t waste your time. Call someone else!

Before I start my review I just want to state that I have used this company several times in the past. They do amazing work! Based on this I called recently to get work done at a different residence. I originally called on 10/28/22 at 11:30am to receive an estimate on work that I need done at my current residence. I left a voicemail for Chris. Well today is 10/31/22 at 2:54pm. I called again since I never received a call back. When I asked to speak to Chris, she says this is she. When I asked about the estimate that I wanted she explained that no estimate is given for the type of work that I need done (to have a faucet replaced on a utility tub). My request would have to go through the service dept. Ok I can understand that. I'm guessing this is why she failed to even call me back. Instead of her explaining the service charges on her own, I had to probe & ask her a million questions to determine if I want to schedule an appt. I want to say this. Her customer service is horrible! Every time I have to call this company I'm always hoping that someone else will answer the phone. She makes the customer feel like we are a bother & that she could care less about us wanting your service. Her demeanor & attitude is going to force customers to want to do business elsewhere. This is not my 1st time having to deal with her nonchalant energy. This is just my 1st time finally posting a review about it. Calumet City Plumbing can you please provide Chris with the necessary people skills & training that she needs so that she does not run any of your customers away? I'm sure that you all can hire someone else who would LOVE to have her job & would do a much better job. She is rude as hell & I'm sick of her!

This review is for Calumet City Plumbers Service Department employee Chris. Chris is highly unprofessional responding to clients concerns with an indifferent and nasty disposition when addressing scheduling. 0 She had the nerve to hang up while I was trying to put the pieces together as to why it is so difficult to work out schedule between CCP and my tenant. I called in a work order with our mgmt company; they contacted CCP; Chris called to arrange time and date; I gave her tenant information. I don't know to this date if work was completed in my unit. The plumbing is back to back and the owner behind my unit developed same problem. I got an email 6 days later requesting access to my unit for the neighbors backup. Why wasn't the two units that are back to back done at same time? This has been past practice. CCP has been working in our complex for many years this is a reoccurring maintenance problem. Chris left me on hold for 7 minutes waiting to speak with management to rectify the scheduling and her customer service style. Chris came back on phone and transfered me to voicemail after I made it clear several times I needed to SPEAK to her superior. Each time I need service our Management Company uses Calumet City each time I get Chris each encounter is worst than the last. No problems with technicians.

Last week our main going into the house burst under our driveway and after calling lots of other businesses and getting subpar responses we were finally recomended to Calumet City plumbing. We were able to get a quote in the middle of the week and get started on work the next monday, half the time I was getting quotes for from other companies! The fact they offer directional boring in such a timely manor was beyond helpful and reassuring. I have a toddler at home and I couldnt imagine having to go through another week without running water. Moe, was very kind and took his time explaining everything to my family while I was at work. He was available for questions before and after he started work and went totally above and beyond. Thank you very much for all you did for us! This would've been another beast without your help. (Not to mention they were the cheapest out of all my quotes by almost 2 thousand!) Great professional service all around.

We live in Chicago, had a water meter put in and thus found out that our water lines under our slab home were leaking, as the meter was running continuously. This was a major job and Calumet City Plumbing did an excellent job. They were extremely professional, very efficient, and actually made it seem like a minor job. The workers were all attentive to detail in regard to our home. When they left, the same day also (7am to 2pm and it was done!) our home was just as clean and neat as before they arrived. (probably cleaner because they wiped down the hot water heater and furnace where they had to bust the floor up, which I seem to neglect!) I would never consider any other plumbing company! Kudos to Mike Giglio and Mike Calomino and the whole crew for what we thought would be an extremely unpleasant experience for making it a pleasant experience. You get what you pay for and it was worth every dollar!

I was a resident customer for at least 30 years. Over multiple houses including my current one. I attempted to get service recently. First the receptionist was rude. She attempted to defer me first stating they only did businesses. After informing her I had be a customer for years and had been previously told that they would continue to serve old clients. then she said she couldn't find my address, I then told her I had old receipts I could forward her, she then said she didn't make appointments during the day she would call me back that evening. No call. I'm not going to beg and pay, it is Obvious that Calumet City plumbing does not appreciate the residential customers on whose back they built their current business. I believe you guys could find another another plumbing company that does excellent work that appreciate your business don't spend your money here they don't want it

Beware of back end pricing. Purchased a home that needed major renovations. Was quoted over $2000. I agreed. When work was done the technician said he found more wrk that needed to be done. His boss came out and quoted me $600 for new work. Okay, fine. Set up time, technician came out for second round of repairs and low and behold they said all my pipes needed to be replaced and quoted me a range of $2000 - $3000. Get the hell outta here! I immediately dismissed them from my list of contractors and hired another plumber who did the repairs for $650 and passed all village inspections. Beware of back end pricing. They will get you with a reasonable price and find something MAJOR and try to screw you with an even higher price. Get multiple, multiple bids before going with cal city.

We've used the services of CCP a few times, so I guess it is time I give them a review! Two workers were in my home all day yesterday doing some major (I consider any work that employs a jackhammer "major.") The crew completed the work carefully and expertly. Explained to me how and when to use the valve they installed as well as how to care for it. I appreciate the fact that they did this instruction with respect as I don't know thing 1 about plumbing. They wanted the concrete to dry and cure, so they left my dryer unconnected. Today, they returned to move my clothes dryer back in its spot and reconnect the gas feed at no additional charge. Are they expensive? Yes, however, when it comes to most trades, you get what you pay for.

The city of Joliet has a contract with this company to install new digital water meters. The gentlemen didn’t seem so happy for what? I don’t know. I asked a few questions and he kind of blew me off. So after the gentleman completed the digital water meter install in the basement. The signal box on the side of the house that the city gets its reading from. I asked how does it work. The gentleman looked at me with disgust and explained very distasteful. At this point I was aggravated. My intentions now in mind were “sir just finish and leave”. This has to be my first negative review I’ve ever left. It takes alot to get under my skin and this was it.

Nick took my call and arranged for a team of two plumbers to come out that very afternoon. He called around noon to confirm that they would arrive shortly. Mike and Jason were prompt and professional. They problem solved my situation, and as it turned out, I only needed to have my pipe routed. They followed by that using a camera to inspect the length of pipe to make sure there were no breaks and saved that file for future reference. I had great reviews from neighbors about Calumet City Plumbing, and I'm glad I followed their advice. This is a very professional operation, and I'm very happy with the results. I will definitely use them again.

I live in Florida, I was home taking care of my 82 year old mons pipes….I thought I had it fixed. She still had issues with water backing up into tub…..I called Mike he sent 2 guys out the next morning and Momma can wash dishes and shower again without any back up….thank you Mikey! Momma been in Cal city since 73 I grew up there….went to drives ED with Mike….good people! They understand the people that need help! If you don’t cal Cal City plumbing when you have an issue you are doing a disservice to yourself! Thank you all at Cal City Plumbing for taking care of Mom!
