I own a dog grooming business in Batavia. Our main hot water heater wasn't working. This is the busiest week of the year. Christmas! I heard great things about Bull Dog Plumbing. I called and they came out. They were very nice, accommodating and professional. Very reasonable price. We are up and running! I recommend them highly. Great job.
Called on a Friday, they were able to come out on Monday. I was asked what I needed, I advised I needed a drain rodded out. Asked for a quote while making the appointment was quoted an approximately 2 hour job, $275. I was given my plumbers name when I scheduled. Received a text the day before to confirm my appointment. John and his associate came out, they were early to arrive which worked well for me that day. They were here less than 2 hours and the job was less than my quote! Very professional and treated my home as if it was their own. John explained what he had done and made some recommendations on how I could help keep my drains running well for years to come. I will be calling them again for my next plumbing needs.
Fast and efficient service! I called Bulldog Plumbing for a leak under my kitchen sink and in under an hour, John had cut out the portion of the pipe that was leaking, replaced it with a new copper pipe and re-attached the sink and dishwasher. Everything was up and running again before I even realized it! I was bracing myself for the bill, but found it to be extremely fair, and in the lower end of the ballpark estimate that Douglas gave me originally. I would absolutely call them again (hopefully for an upgrade, as opposed to a repair) and highly recommend their service. John even stay a little to answer my questions about plumbing issues in the rest of the house that had been nagging me.
Called for a quote to install a back up sump system he came out and said he would call us back that was the last we heard from them. My husband did call a week later said he was looking for a part and we never heard back from them. Would not recommend. Poor customer service.
Mistakes were made and water damaged ensued and the owner of this company refused to take responsibility and fix the damage. Terrible customer service. Will not be hiring this company again.
OMG! The absolute worst of the worst! Where shall I begin? These people are unprofessional and incompetent and they do not stand behind their warranties. They improperly installed a water softener treatment system and tied the system after the splits so the majority of the house wasn't being treated! We had this installed two years ago and they had us sign a warranty and they refused to stand by it! They had all manner of excuses for the rinky dink way in which they improperly installed our water softener system and dirty untreated water was getting through our drinking water and when we complained to the owner he didn't want to hear anything. We asked them to remove what they had installed and they wanted to charge us to take it out!!! Needless to say we were extremely disappointed and frustrated that we were ripped off as we are ignorant when it comes to water installation systems as we are not plumbers. The owner could care less about our problem which he caused. Here is my advice should you be considering this particular company. Run like your the last two monkeys boarding Noah's Ark and it's starting to rain! No no and no! That's a hard no from me! You've been warned folks enter at your own risk! These clowns do not stand behind their work and whenever you have any types of issues they make all manner of poor and ridiculous excuses for their shoddy work! I do not recommend Bulldog Plumbing to any sane person as they are rip off artists in disguise who peddle Chinese products and slap a sticker on it and call it their own!!!
Bulldog is a local, honest, reliable company that really does great work. I will tell you right off the bat that they are absolutely nowhere near the cheapest offering. Plumbing always seems to be the most expensive skilled trade. However, Bulldog is a good value. Besides, do you really want to trust plumbing work to the lowest bidder? My hot water heater pilot light went out. I tried to get it to reignite with no success. I took off the access panel, pulled out the pilot fitting to see if I could clean it off. It was in bad shape. Cleaned it off and replaced. No dice. Called Bulldog. John came in, looked at the hot water heater and said it needed to be replaced. It was ten years old and beginning to rust with a small and slow leak at the bottom. I knew that was going to be his diagnosis. However, I was secretly hoping he might have a repair miracle up his sleeve. Not this time, unfortunately. He got to work. They stand behind their work. He ordered a new one and it was here in 30 minutes. They laid down tarp throughout our house so there wouldn't be any rusty water spill damage taking the old one out. Those are the little things you get with pros that you don't get with the cheap guys. John and his colleague brought new one down the stairs without banging into walls or railings. Their work was clean and conscientious. They installed a Bradford White, which is a good brand. Clean install. Overall very happy. Will call again.
Doug and his employees were always courteous to me, and that is important. I was looking to have a few estimates done for a few projects in my house. Doug came out and wss very kind and explained, in detail, what he would do. He even fixed a flow problem with my kitchen sink, right then and there, without charging me, which was very kind, and why I tacked on an additional star, in what would otherwise be a 3-star review. His estimates came in about average, and since this was a recommendation from a friend, and I was impressed with Doug's demeanor, I decided to give Bulldog a shot. Long story short, they were able to do the work on the sink that I requested, but due to a miscommunication, I had to obtain an extra part before they could finish the job properly. The plumbers doing the job wanted partial payment when they informed me of the need for me to get this extra part, which I did not agree with. Again, upon talking to Doug, was apologetic for the miscommunication, and offered a small discount on the work. When I obtained the part that was necessary, they came back and finished the job. Loss of one star for not responding to my reply emails to the estimate (I finally called), as well as not responding to my two calls for a return appointment to finish the job (3 days).
I had a positive, but then negative experience. My husband took apart our two piece toilet to paint in December only to have issues reconnecting it (it kept leaking). So, Bulldog came out right before Christmas and fixed it, which was great. We paid the hourly min. All was fine. But, after it was repaired the handle was very tight and difficult to flush for adults, let alone my toddler. I had them come out in Jan. after the holidays and it was assessed and then they said I need some parts bought and further repair etc. and it would be the hourly charge. I connected them after that consultation in confusion bc I assumed since it was tight as a result of the work in December that it would be fixed without charge. I received no reply to that inquiry. THEN, yesterday, my brother-in-law, who is not a plumber, explained it was tight simply bc too much water was in the top, and fixed it in two mins. I am confused as to why they couldn't/didn't know that when they came out the second time. I am also miffed they were going to charge me for an issue that resulted from their work. I advise caution.
We had a terrible experience with Bulldog Plumbing. We purchased a water softener from them two years ago and just recently discovered that the water softener was installed incorrectly. Half the house was getting softened water while the other half was not. We called the company to come back and see what kind of a half-@$$ job they did. The owner showed up at the house and flatly refused to fix the problem or compensate us for the water softener saying that the tank has a 5 year warranty but he claimed it was working properly. He was very combative and refused to accept responsibility. He even had the audacity to tell us that he would charge us to remove the tank. We have no recourse. We are out the money and we have a malfunctioning water softener. I highly recommend you DO NOT use these guys. Very disappointing customer service and totally unprofessional. If I could give zero stars that would be too many.
I love leaving a great review when a local business is outstanding. I've used Bulldog Plumbing several times, once at my townhouse and twice since I've been in my house. Today, I called them at 7:15 in the morning on the off chance that they might answer their phone that early. They did, and were at my house by 9:30 am to fix the backup in my basement drains. J.J. was the technician and did a fantastic job of communicating the issue with my mother in law. I'm having them replace my unknown aged sump pump after the weekend because the float is sticking. Their prices are very reasonable and their service has always been outstanding. If you're looking for a fantastic local plumber in the Tri-City area, look no further and call Bulldog Plumbing.
Bulldog plumbing was the BEST!!!! I have never felt so comfortable with anyone else. They are reliable, dependable, and trust worthy. I am 1000% satisfied with the work that Bulldog Plumbing did on my house. I will never use anyone else. They answer my calls and or text asap I mean they could be on a job site and cannot answer been there done that haven't we all. I appreciated the advise and willing to help on other projects that I am currently doing to my home. I have already referred Bulldog Plumbing out. Outside of their work ethic I loved the fact that they are independently and family owned now days those are the ones that need our support the most. God Bless and give the guys your business...
First off, the person who answers the phone is very friendly and helpful. They answered all my questions and they set up an appointment time that was good for me. The technician that ame out was the same way. He showed me what was going on and gave me my options. And not pushy about sales, they let me decide what was right. They showed me all the work after, and the installation looks awesome, very professionally done. I have a handful of companies in my phone that I just call when I need work, and this is the newest number. They will be taking care of all my plumbing needs in the future.
Bulldog Plumbing has provided consistently great service. They recently installed a new sump pump and back-up sump pump. Norm did a fantastic job. He explained everything before he did the work. The workmanship itself was excellent in the way finished product looked. He went out his way to clean up and make sure that i had all my questions answered. Last year he installed a whole house filtration system and water heater for me and did a fantastic job which is the primary reason i asked him to replace my existing sump pump. Thank you Bulldog Plumbing and Norm for jobs well done.
We were lucky enough to call Bulldog on a day where they had a cancelation and could visit the same day. While we hadn't wanted to replace the sump pump and had hoped it was repairable, we did replace it and then learned the model we replaced was manufactured in 2011 so unlikely to have been installed in 2022 as we'd been told. All in all, the process was straightforward as was the pricing. And the plumber, Chris, was friendly and knowledgeable (and a hit with the dog & cat!). Here's hoping we won't need to call a plumber anytime soon but if we do, were calling Bulldog again!
