On time and excellent job!
Chris and crew are awesome! He has done several projects and fixes for us. On time, knowledgeable, reasonable pricing, and attention to detail is above and beyond. And personable to boot! We trust our plumbing needs to Brown Plumbing!
Good people. Had a drain clogged in motel. Arrived on time and serviced promptly.
Unprofessional and lazy. The type of guys you have to call back 3-4 times, not because the job is long, but because they did a flimsy, amateur job. Edit: No, calling you back did not fix the problem. And it didn't the second or third time either. I used someone else and they figured it out right away.
I had a pipe burst under my trailer during the freeze. I called Brown plumbing based on all of their outstanding reviews online. They did not disappoint. The job was completed within 24 hours of my initial call. The price was less than I expected and the workers knew exactly what they were doing. I almost never leave reviews however i feel like they went above and beyond my expectations. If you need quality work don't call an unlicensed handyman that may or may not get the job done correctly. Save yourself some time and peace of mind. Give these guys a call. Edit. I've used Browns for several years on 3 different properties. I have usually had great service. Not so much this time. They charge the standard $120 per hour. They came out for a simple job. Replace pipes under my trailer that burst during the freeze. They charged me $485 for 2 hours of work. There are other pipes that need to be replaced however I turned down the offer as their prices have become outrageous. I called a competitor who is scheduled to come by this afternoon. They will give me a full quote before the the work is started and offered a 100% guarantee. It sucks when long time loyal customers are taken advantage of for the Almighty dollar. I'm a strong believer that a company should be paid fairly based on the work they perform and not overcharge for hours that were never worked.
Update: Chris Brown, the owner of Brown Plumbing, is top notch! In his defense, he had no idea the issue below had taken place. As soon as he was made aware he called and resolved the issue. He went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. Since the work done was very good and they were willing to work out the differences stated below, I’m changing my rating from three stars to five. The good: Brown plumbing does very good work. We have used them before and decided to use them again. They are very busy. We called on Tuesday and set up an appointment for 10:30 a.m. on Thursday. They arrived sometime between 6:00 and 6:30 p.m. They called twice during the day to let us know the job they were on was taking much longer than expected. I really appreciated the updates and the fact that they came late and were kind enough to let me know they were not charging me an after hours fee even though it was after hours. The not so good: After quickly finding the leak and stopping it, they informed me the part they needed to make a permanent fix was not on the truck. The parts building was locked up for the night. They could get it opened but that would cost me extra. The other alternative was they could come back the next day to do the permanent fix. They estimated it shouldn’t take more than about 10 minutes. I chose to have them return so I wouldn’t have to pay extra. I paid the service fee on Thursday before they left and the check cleared the bank on Friday. On Wednesday afternoon of the following week, 6 days later, someone different finally returned. After completing the repair he sat in his truck and took 20+ minutes writing the receipt. When looking over the receipt it was more than I thought it should be. He said he was collecting for todays work as well as last Thursday. We worked that out. I also took exception to the full price of another service call. If they had come at 10:30 a.m. on the original day it was scheduled, I would not have had to pay that entire fee again. We did not come to an agreeable solution to that disagreement. For that reason, I gave them three stars out of five.
I live in Hawley and I had a clogged sink after putting something stupid in the garbage disposal. It was clogged for about a month because it was deep in the pipes and there was a hard 90 degree pipe under my sink. We called Midway and Black and both had a $100~ TRIP CHARGE. Just to DRIVE 10 MIN to Hawley. I could drive to and from Dallas in a diesel truck and still have $ for snacks with $100. I finally got Bevill out there to try it and they tried and couldn't get it and still charged me for $85 and then sent me a bid for $950 just to replace the pipes under my sink. Ridiculous. It took $15 and 15 mins to replace those pipes ourselves. We tried again to snake it at home and we couldnt reach it. So we called Brown, because every morning on the way to work, I see a Brown Plumbing truck at Allsups, so I thought MAYBE they dont have a trip charge. NOT ONLY do they NOT have a trip charge for Hawley, TWO of them live out there. The guy was super nice and respectful. Had that clog cleared in about 30 mins and the bill was for $120. I'm so happy. He even resealed the drain since there was a slight leak, without hesitation. I am so thankful and will 100% be calling Brown Plumbing for future repairs. Its also worth mentioning, they were scheduled to show at 11am, the guy (please forgive me I didnt get his name) called at 10:41am and said he would be 15-20mins late BUT he wasnt, he pulled up at 11:03am. I am so appreciative of the communication. Thank you!!
I was referred to this place by a friend & they did not disappoint. This was the 3rd plumbing service I had diagnose an issue with a bathtub plumbing repair. One company was going to charge me $1200 & eventually we found out they misdiagnosed the issue. First of all, the techs Brown plumbing sent out were great. They were personable. And they were professional. They took the time to make sure we didn't need to do the big repair. And thankfully for their thorough investigating, we didn't. In the end they saved me over $1000. This was a simple repair. The techs figured it out in about a half hour. I spent 2 1/2 days on it before they arrived. Small project, but I will legitimately not even think about calling another company for any of my plumbing needs here in Abilene. I saved their number, they have my service for life.
I want to give a high recommendation for Brown Plumbing for excellent service, reasonable rates, and going above and beyond. We had a gas leak in our yard. Brown was the 4th company we called, because the pipe replacement costs $$$$, plus everyone said our sprinkler system will also get destroyed when they dig the ditch, and those repairs also had potentially very high costs. Brown Plumbing not only did an excellent job, they also dug a large part of the yard by hand, instead of using the machine, in 100 degree weather, to preserve as much of our sprinklers as possible. The employees were efficient, polite, professional, communicated with us at every step of the process. They will get all our business in the future.
I needed someone ASAP to replace valves that connect to the hoses on a new washing machine that was damaged while being delivered. The pipe had cracked and there was water everywhere. I needed to take a shower and go to work after receiving the appliances and them being installed which quickly turned into the disaster. We had to shut all of the water off and needed someone to fix it post haste. Within less than 30 minutes literally, Brown Plumbing was here. They replaced the parts, fixed it all up, and turned our water back on. Even better, they didn't charge an arm and a leg. 100% amazing service. I will never use anyone else again. Highly recommended!! Thank you guys so much for bring so quick and diligent!
I had a gas leak at our house, and Brown Plumbing "came to the rescue".....literally! They have won mine and my family's business for the rest of our lives! From the moment I called, they had someone out at the house for an estimate, then had the repair scheduled immediately after. All of the work, from start to finish was completed in less than 4 days. From the office staff, to the owner and the guys that came out to work at the house.....everyone was VERY friendly, professional and did EXCELLENT WORK. They also do NOT overcharge you like a lot of places normally would. Thank you so very much Brown Plumbing for EVERYTHING. I highly recommend them for ANY PLUMBING NEEDS anyone may need!!
Our medical practice has been using Brown Plumbing for over a year now and we are so pleased with their services. Most recently we discovered a leak that was causing problems with our vinyl flooring and could escalate to a much larger problem; and we could not tell where the leak was coming from. Brown Plumbing came out immediately and analyzed the problem and found the source of the leak. They worked tirelessly to fix the problem so we did not have to close. The staff were responsive, professional and kept us informed as to the progress. They were able to make the repair without cutting through drywall. We want to thank the staff at Brown Plumbing for doing such an exceptional job.
Brown Plumbing is truly an EXCELLENT plumbing company. Chris Brown and his employees are incredibly professional. I was AMAZED at the extra effort that the Plumber Zach and his helper put in to complete my job in one day, these two guys stayed late (around 8:30) on a Friday evening to make sure my job was completed! I was actually shocked that they stayed so late, I figured these guys would have left by 5 or 6pm, so I feel the need to brag on Brown Plumbing for going the extra mile. I also feel that the bill I paid was very reasonable- I expected it to be more! Thank you Brown Plumbing- I will definitely use you again when the need arises. Abilene is blessed to have this company!
After reading all the reviews from various different plumbers we chose Browns because of the good reviews. But our review is not a good one. We called Browns plumbing almost 2 weeks ago because our toilet was backing up into our bathtub and our kitchen sink wouldn't drain. We called aroundn730 in the morning and the lady said they would have somebody contact us when they were headed our way. We ended up having to call them back around 3 and the guy that answered said that he was putting in another ticket for us to have somebody come out quicker. Let's just say we are still waiting for somebody to call us back and let us know they are headed to our house.
Called office and plumber (Garrett) responded same morning. Very professional and polite young man. Quickly identified issue and explained how he would suggest resolving issue with my main sewer drain. Went to his truck, got his tools and repaired extremely fast.Ops checked everything with me to insure customer was satisfied. The cost was very reasonable along with same morning response. From the time you call the office - just very nice folks, honest and reasonably priced. Can’t ask or expect more from a local business!! Shout out to Brown Plumbing.
