bob & marc plumbing in hawthorne does great work! when I had a plumbing emergency, they came right away to fix it. the plumber did a great job and fixed the problem quickly and professionally. i would recommend them for any plumbing needs!

So... I had been a loyal customer for years an called with a pipe break ad water gushing everywhere, they were too busy to help. That took me years to get over. 18 months ago I went back to have a new toilet installed, looked good. 18 months later I've had another plumber come over and reseat it because it was loose. Turns out plumber used the bolts that came with the toilet that barely cleared the tile floor. He also didn't caulk it. Happily there was no expensive leak as the wax ring wasn't compromised. Not quality work at all and that cost me $385 to reseat from other plumber. My advice, use someone else, these folks are NOT your friendly neighborhood plumber.

As a small business owner in the area, it gives me no satisfaction in writing a negative review for a local business. However, I wanted to share my own experience so hopefully said company can learn and be better. I was quoted $120 per hour plus parts on the phone. The plumber shows up, says I need a new Moen cartridge (as I expected on my call) and continues to write me up for flat fee of $380! The plumber took apart the faucet in 15-20 min.. could have part the part back on in less than 1 hour. Now you tell me if that is fair or a BAIT AND SWITCH. Here is my suggestion, be HONEST WITH YOUR CUSTOMERS.

I asked this company to come fix a drain line leak under my bathroom sink, and give me an estimate for replacing my water heater possibly as a separate job. Their plumber spent an hour trying to fix the drain leak, failed to fix the leak while actually making the leak much worse. Said that officially/legally he can't fix the leak because the way the sink/vanity was installed 50 years ago doesn't comply with current code. Plumber said they'll send me a quote later in the day for replacing the vanity in order to fix the leak. They charged me $110 for coming out and getting nothing done (while making things worse), and didn't bother to send me any quotes even though the plumber assured me they would. Their plumber left a mess in my bathroom! FYI a different plumbing company came afterwards, said they'll buy parts and fix the leak next day for under $200

This company did a great job replacing our water heater. We had used him in the past and felt they were very professional and reliable. However, one thing to know is if you have a scheduled appointment with them, and a job that they have an opportunity to make more money comes up, they WILL AND HAVE call and cancel the job previously scheduled with you. So if you have A plumbing situation that needs to be taken care of right away, this is not the company to call!
