Josh & Ben are professional and knowledgeable. They took care of a major drain problem in a large complex without disturbing the tenants. What great guys. What a great company.
No one wants to hear they have a slab leak but Black tie made it bearable. Pedro and Ruben were very nice and explained everything very well. Michael, who fixed the leak and Joshua, that helped with the city inspector were both great and patient with me and all my questions. Even the contractors that did all the hard labor were very respectful. Could not be happier with the work.
Matt Wise was super helpful and very informative on explaining exactly what repairs were needed.
I am not The only one look at there reviews idk who is driving that suv but he drives crazy he almost hit me in the back please do better. I took a pic so you guys can see not making this up
If you value clear communication and competence, avoid Black Tie Plumbing. Our experience was a catalog of errors, from deceptive pricing to a botched timeline. After foundation work from their partner company resulted in four sewer leaks, we met with Ruben on December 22nd to verify the leaks and work needed. He explicitly confirmed twice that two quoted figures were for different levels of work. The next day, the quote arrived with the costs combined, effectively doubling the price by several thousand dollars. After we expressed our concern, Ruben was apologetic and said he misspoke. We were told work could not start until after the holidays. What was scheduled as an 8-day job turned into a multi-week ordeal: 1/16: Work began after Xavier scheduled with short notice calling wed 1/13 at 4:25 to schedule for Friday. We had to make many arrangements with work to be available but made it happen. 1/21: After supposedly fixing the leaks, the post-plumbing test failed. They had only fixed 3 out of 4 leaks. They stated they didn't have the correct supplies to finish and it was already afternoon. 1/22: Plumbers arrived with the supplies and realized a "miscommunication" meant excavation was a foot short, delaying work further on fixing the 4th leak. The excavation would have to come out again 1/23-1/30 Weather delays due to freezing temps and us exhausting the arrangements we made with work resulted in days of no work 1/31: Excavation was set to arrive from 830 to 9am. Showed up about an hour after. I reached out to Jessica, who had been a point of contact for updates, but no reponse after I asked when the crew would arrive. The excavation crew took an entire day with zero updates from the office or onsite plumbers. No work on sundays. 2/2: Work was finally completed—nearly two weeks past the original end date. Also apparently the city verifies work by FaceTime? That's odd. We had a leak fixed by a different company and someone came out that was 3rd party to verify the work. Despite the constant errors, no supervisor ever reached out. Though a supervisor was seen onsite they stayed in their vehicles and when they went in the car they never introduced themselves. The supervisor was also late more than once causing the crew to just wait outside. To top it off, the company charged the remaining balance to our card without authorization or communication, preventing us from using our preferred payment method. For a company claiming 25 years of experience, this was "amateur hour." They are disorganized, not transparent about pricing, and lack basic accountability.
This was a work order from my Warranty Company. Black Tie did not call me within the stipulated 48 hour period - I had to call them twice to get them to set up an appointment. They sent me two technicians - Brad and Michael who came to fix our master toilet that is leaking water out of the top of the toilet plastic head. They said the Warranty Company would not cover the toilet repair as our water pressure is at 90 psi. They said all our toilets are broken ( without even having seen the others) because of this 'high" pressure. They then said they would fix the toilets if we paid them USD 200 for each toilet. Also they recommended we get a PRV ( pressure reduction valve) in the front yard for which we would need to pay them USD 998. He also said we might need to get an expansion tank as well. They said that the pressure had probably always been like this in our area, but quickly walked that back when we said we have been here ten years and never had a problem. Then they said that if they only repaired the toilets without installing the PRV the toilets would likely break in 24 hours and it would be money down the drain so we needed to get the PRV installed..He asked if we were ready to go ahead and let him do the work immediately. In other words, if we had believed these two we would have had to pay them USD 200 X 6 toilets, plus USD 998 plus an expansion tank install! We felt this was a scam. We paid them the warranty service fee just to get them out of the house - then called the warranty company who said that he was wrong - they absolutely do cover repairs of toilet apparatus with that pressure. This morning the City Water Department officials came to check our water pressure and they confirm that our pressure is within normal range and nothing has changed in our water pressure in our City over the last 24 years. Therefore they recommend we get a different plumber since there is nothing in our water supply that would affect our toilet.. our warranty company has now assigned another company to our repair. Be very careful with this company - you can be seriously misled by their technicians Brad and Michael.
Let me start by saying, I typically don't get that excited about home repairs. They are a drag and stressful to deal with. Having said that - Fasten your seatbelts because probably for the first time ever, I will be gushing about my experience today with Black Tie Plumbing. I noticed our water bills had been increasing uncontrollably over the past few months for no good reason. Last night we went out to the meter after making sure nothing in the house was running, and the meter was literally spinning so fast you couldn't keep up with it. I went onto Yelp, read reviews for Black Tie, so I set up a service request at around 10pm. Now, given my past experiences with other service companies, I was expecting we wouldn't receive any contact for at least a day. NOPE. At 8:15 this morning, the young lady with Black Tie called to let me know they could have someone at the house between 8:30 and 10 am. WOW! Daniel Fitzgerald called me about 10 minutes later saying he was about 30 minutes out. He arrived when promised and was very professional and friendly. I discussed the 'symptoms' with him. Within a half hour he had located the problem - about five feet from the meter, we had a leak in the water line, which home warranty would not have covered since the problem was outside the perimeter of the foundation. As Daniel worked, he explained both the cause of the problem, and the way he would be correcting it. Start to finish took about 90 minutes tops; he replaced the line from that junction point where the hole was back to the meter, turned the water back on, and OMG a still meter! It was a sight to behold. Problem solved and reasonably priced. Every facet of my interaction with Black Tie was absolutely stellar. The singular regret that I have through this experience is that I didn't reach out to them four months ago when I first noticed the climb in usage on the bills. I will happily remain a Black Tie Plumbing customer for life, and rest assured yours will be the only name I throw out there when I hear about someone needing plumbing work done.
How I found Black Tie Plumbing... We have a slab foundation, our house was built in 1964 with cast iron sewage pipes. Foundation work was done to our house before we could buy it in 2006. Perma Pier did the work and gave a life time warranty- 2 years ago they came back because we had some foundation issues, they honored the warranty and fix the problem. While looking for a plumbing company to find out, why for 10 years we kept having problems with drainage in the north end of the house I discovered Perma Pier has a plumbing subset for problems like ours. So that's how I found their sister(?) company Black Tie Plumbing. It was gut wrenching and depressing when they gave us the estimate to replace the corroded pipes causing the problem. We decided to get several estimates and explore other options like pipe lining. Baker Brothers gave us an estimate of $60,300.00, several others ranged from $35K down to $18K for partial replacement and/or partial pipe lining. The initial diagnostic estimate from Black Tie was $360 to put the camera down the pipes and locate the problem. After considering a partial fix and looking at estimates for a complete replacement (the 112 feet of tunneling is the biggest expense) we chose Black Tie. Black Tie provided several options from replacing the entire sewer drainage to partial replacement to help us reduce the costs. (Ranging from $11,000 to just under $30,000) We decided on the total replacement, knowing it will increase the value of our home. All the sewage lines were replaced with PVC. They pulled the toilets and even took pictures of the work as it progressed for us. The workers accommodated us fully, not leaving us without drainage for more than a few hours and never overnight. The guys were all very courteous and clean and left the yard in very good shape afterward.
If I could give them 0 stars, I would. Terrible service. On 11/13, we had water back up in the house. I contacted our home warranty company, and they gave me Black Tie's information. I called and explained the situation, and the representative said it would be 2 days before someone could come out, so we scheduled for 11/15, 12-4 window. Still no tech, no phone call after 5. When I called, she said it might be canceled for the night. Finally a tech showed after 6. He was there for 5 minutes and said another tech would have to come out and run a camera, the office would call and schedule that for us. But, he said don't run water, flush toilets, live in the house. So we left the house. No call, no schedule. We called on Friday 11/16 and no return call. Finally got someone on Monday 11/19 and they said they couldn't come out until Wednesday 11/21. A guy randomly showed on Tuesday 11/20. Then no communication or return phone call until 11/26, when I was promised a quote by the end of the day. No quote, no call. My husband and I called again 11/27, and were both promised a quote by the end of the day. No quote, no call. Finally received a quote by email including a discount for our "troubles". After running the quote by other professionals, it was determined that the quote was at least $1500 more than it should be. I called another plumbing company to get the work done. They were out and had answers for me immediately and even temporarily fixed the plumbing so we could be back in our house after being out of it for 2 weeks. AVOID this company.
Start off about saying I use to own a Appliance repair company until I sold it years ago so I know where they are coming from. Called about both toilets not flushing. They came out and said they are both clogged. Qt $150 each to clear them out.$300 total and I agreed. 20 Mins later after "clearing them both " they are still not flushing. At this time they tell me they need to remove both toilets to see why it is not flushing($250 per toilet), but they would no longer charge me the $300 since it did not work. I told them that does not sound right , I do not think it s clog since they are both doing same thing. At this time they come back and tell me I just need new toilets because they old and do NOT have enough power to flush. They want $350 now to change out whatever toilets I buy. At this time not feeling good about the diagnosis and pass on this. They then proceeded to charge me the original $300 for roto rooter job that DID NOT FIX IT. They said they would apply the $300 towards the replacement of toilets. They are just guessing at this point. I feel like I should have only paid the service call. I even offered to pay $150...They said NO. $300 dollars later and nothing has changed. My toilets still do not flush right....I would have never done this to to a client. I will tell everyone I know what they did here.
Shortly after moving into a new house in Spring of last year we experienced a bathroom double-sink backup and our home warranty company sent a Black Tie (Fort Worth based)plumber. It was established early on that this type of repair was NOT covered by our policy. This young man tried for some time then told me that he could not clear the blockage because the horizontal connecting pipe between the sinks stopped him reaching the blockage located in a vertical section of pipe. He said the only way to clear it would be down the vertical pipe from the roof. As he was not comfortable going onto the double story roof - he would have to cut into the pipe and do this from the attic. He went into the attic and called his boss to report on all this. The Home Warranty company then called me and passed on the quote for approx. $700.00! I declined in favor of calling in a local plumber we have used and trust to get a second opinion. This provoked a reaction indicating surprise. My husband talked with a co-worker who recommended a product from HD. This easily cleared the clog and we have used it once since then with continuing good results. I did not get a good impression from all this and personally would never use this company or recommend them.
I would like to extend my sincere thanks to Black Tie Plumbing for the outstanding service I received, especially for sending a plumber named Ben (unfortunately, I didn’t catch his last name). As a homeowner for several years, I’ve dealt with various plumbing companies, and often, the experience has been frustrating, delays, price changes, or work that felt rushed and impersonal. Ben was different. He was professional, honest, and carried a work ethic that truly stood out. He took the time to clearly explain the situation, offered practical solutions, and made sure I understood the best course of action before moving forward. What started as a spontaneous issue that showed up overnight was resolved quickly and efficiently after I made the call the next morning. Black Tie Plumbing was able to fit me into their schedule without hesitation, and Ben arrived ready to work. The quality of the repair and the attention to detail were some of the best I’ve seen. Thanks to his work, my plumbing issue was resolved, and I was able to enjoy the rest of my day without stress. Black Tie Plumbing has earned my trust, and they will be my first call for any future plumbing needs in my home. Tonight I will Drink one To Ben.
Blacktie did backfall work in our foundation to fixed a plumbing issue. They dug over 40 feet of tunnel to do this work in 2109. The work was undertaken by gehan homes, our builder who paid blacktie. It was an expense of several thousand $$$$( I was not shared the details but I know based on a quote provided by Berkeys). I never thought that I would have the sewage backup problem however in 2022, less than 2 years later, the exact same problem of sewage backing in bathroom started in the exact same spot Blacktie fixed. Now they want to charge us monies to fix it again - Didnt we have warranty ? I never thought that the problem would occur again and gehan homes was handling the repair, an expense of over $10k so we didn't think much of it. We were just glad to ge tried if the disgusting sewage backup. Blacktie's work was backed up by ONLY a year's warranty while other companies give a 5 year warranty for the same job! Clearly seems like Blacktie did not have faith in its own work by shortchanging us on the warranty terms. I would be very careful giving an expensive repair job to Blackie since they dont stand behind their own work. What a disappointing experience with Blacktie in DFW area!
I want to leave my best review for Matt from BlackTie Plumbing. They made great job for us with repairing our full bathroom leak, that included digging under the house. They also identified another leak in a different location, that was repaired by another company earlier. Matt went above and beyond helping us to fix the issue. We had another company working on this other issue and Matt spent his time on coming back to our house multiple times pointing the issue to another company that was struggling to identify it. Matt was advocating for us when we discussed the issue with another company, that tried to charge us twice for the same thing. It was definitely much above Matt's responsibilities and I deeply appreciate all he has done for us. If not Matt then we would be paying again for other repairs that were not necessary to have and we would still have our pipe leaking. Matt came to our house to confirm that the repair was done properly and then was reaching out later to confirm that the city plumbing test passed successfully. I really appreciate Matt from Black Tie Plumbing and everything that he has done for us! I wish all plumbers were so fair and trustful! Thank you!
I must say, Black Tie Plumbing is my absolute favorite plumbing company! I had a recent experience with Black Tie Plumber Technician and needed a technician to come out fairly quickly. Black Tie was able to dispatch someone within an hour and the technician they sent out was one of the BEST technicians that I have ever had the opportunity to work with, Mr. Blake Boles. The customer service shown to our property from Mr. Boles was first class, five star customer service. From the moment Mr. Boles stepped on property, he graced us with a warm greeting and ensured that we were educated every step of the way during his inspection. Also, I called their main center to schedule a follow up visit, and Ms. Nicole was the absolute sweetest. She took care of all of administrative needs and had the most amazing personality. It’s rare that you experience this level of customer service from both the technician and the main help center. However Black Tie Plumbing struck gold. We are so lucky to have them as our plumbers and I would recommend Mr. Blake Boles and Ms. Nicole to anyone needing plumbing assistance.
