Had an emergency. My septic tank drain from the house was clogged. Tom was great. Very professional and thorough. He diagnosed the problem quickly. Unfortunately it was more involved than just a simple unclogging and he explained the next steps to take for me to get the ball rolling on fixing it. I was impressed with Tom and the Benjamin Franklin company and will recommend you guys in the future

Aaron was friendly and did most of the work in a short period of time. He forgot to return to finish the job so I had to call four times. He came out and apologized as he forgot to finish the small job. No biggie to me. What I was upset was the cost of $2K. It was excessive for the job. I had surgery on right hand so I couldn’t do it. Aaron dug a few feet down reattach the flipper and install a new tube. Being retired with limited income the price was too high for the job. the only new parts was the 40 gage tube and cap which was about $25. The flipper was not replaced but reattached. I feel you folks could do better by not charging a high price for the type of job. The $538 to come out would have been the price to pay. The back up problem was the back flow flipper came off and cause the stop of the flow. Once it was moved the water flowed away. Other suggestions came with a price tag of $4K the back flow value was already installed. Like I said the cost was way too much. Aaron was good doing his job. I’m just angry at the price.

Aaron arrived on time, he is very courteous and respectful of my home. He worked quickly and efficiently. He went the extra mile to assure I was taken care of. I plan to have another ADA toilet installed after the first of the year. I will ask that Aaron is my service technician.

Tom came back to check on previous employees failure to clean out tree roots. Previous employee used an electric snake, like the one we own, it got out of hand and he broke sewer line and water line, all he did was punch a hole thru toilet paper which it allowed to flush thru 2 guests in my Airbnb. When Tom came you could tell he did not want to deal with the situation as telling my husband and I if he used his tool it would break our pipes. He never took a camera to look at the issue, as we explained my husband and I had separated the pipes and had taken our camera to look into the issue, we had previously taken off the toilet( we are in our 70’s and my husband had a stroke wheelchair bound) Tom told us to get someone who does hydro jetting( which can breaks pipes too Tom went back to office stated I wouldn’t let him cut pipes or take off the toilet never said such a thing. I am currently waiting for supervisor to call as I want a full refund($754).

Unethical deceptive practices to take money and supplies they don't earn. They tell me they want 100% customer satisfaction and want to work with me but then never get back to me. They keep removing my review from their site.

So here's my update of Benjamin Franklin Plumbing of Prescott. Apparently the "owner" of the business owns several areas (Phoenix, Prescott, etc). He's not man-enough to contact his customers himself; instead, I got a call from someone claiming to be an "area supervisor". She said the owner doesn't call customers, himself. I guess he just sits in his ivory tower, collecting money from the rubes stupid enough to hire his company. I gave her the phone number that sent me the text-confirmation (photo attached). The text said "Ben Franklin Plumbing - Prescott", and gave the window of "between 1 PM MST and 5 PM MST", even though the area code of the phone number was somewhere in Pennsylvania (that doesn't really matter these days, though. I've lived in PV for well over 5 years, and my cell has an 805 area code). Anyway, this "area supervisor" said she'd try to get some out to give me an estimate. She wanted me to accept another 4-hour window, and I told her that I wasn't waiting around for another 4 hours. I told her I'd give them a 2-hour window. She said she'd have to speak to someone else about getting someone out with my 2-hour window. But here's the thing: if she's an "area supervisor", why does she have to confer with someone else? Evidently, she's an "area supervisor" with no authority. A full day later, and no return call. If they ever do call to send someone out, I'll reject them, even if their bid is to do the work for free. I don't want a bid from a company so disconnected from their customers, and I'm actually kind of glad the situation worked out this way. BFP sounds like a company that's top-heavy with management, and with too few actual plumbers doing the work. The dissatisfied Yelpers speak for themselves. A company that doesn't listen to their customers, and fails to modify their business-model accordingly, is doomed to failure! This is precisely why you should always get multiple bids on any project: to weed-out the flakes! So far, I've received 3 estimates, and by Monday evening I should have 3 more. I base my acceptance criteria on promptness, profesionalism, cleanliness, equipment to be installed, availability of parts, price, and experience in the biz. I give extra points if the person who shows up will be the actual installer, rather than some underwriter.

Peter from Benjamin Franklin Plumbing in Prescott Valley responded to my call and came for an after hours service on Friday. I had a clogged drain in my kitchen sink. At the time I called I made it clear that I didn't have an outside septic clean out so he would most likely have to use the snake in the 2" PVC pipe under the sink. When he arrived he quickly looked under the sink then went room to room looking for more plumbing to peek at, opening cabinets and turning valves & fittings in the bathroom. Then he went outside & did a half dozen laps around my home looking for the septic clean out which I again said I didn't have. He decided to remove the skirting & go underneath to have a look. When he finally came indoors he told me what he found & what his recommendations were. He said that the pipe under my MH between my kitchen & bathroom needs to be replaced. He said it had developed a "belly" (a dip) and was going uphill to the main drain pipe & this was the cause of the clog. I asked him to just try to run the snake instead & he said he didn't have one. So, he proceeded to write up an estimate of all the repairs (9 of them) he said I needed soon. The total repairs came to a whopping $3,767 but would be discounted 15% if I sign up for a $10/mo. maintenance program. I was in shock. He never did try to clear the clogged drain. He left and I finally called another Plumber on Sunday (Dan D Plumbing) who came out within 3 hours. Dan ran a snake down the drain, flushed the pipe & had it all working again 30-40 minutes after he arrived. I asked him to look under my MH at this pipe so he crawled underneath. He reported to me that there are no visible pipes since they're inside the floor joists surrounded by insulation & covered with a vapor barrier. He had me run water through the line while he check for any leakage and there was none. Everything looked good. Dan only charged me $125, and on a Sunday! He'll be getting a glowing review from me. Peter, on the other hand, charged me $79 for nothing & doesn't even deserve the 1 star I gave him.

Originally I was going to give them 3 stars, but then the service just went down hill. I scheduled a service call on Wednesday through their web page for a Faucet Stem rebuild in my tub/shower and a flapper valve replacement in one of the toilets, and they called and scheduled one of their guys out on Friday between 1 & 5. Bill showed up about 5:20, they missed the window, but they were 'close'. They have a pricing schedule, a flapper valve costs $152.00 dollars, rebuilding (actually replacement) of faucet stems cost $316.00, the pricing schedule makes no adjustment for multiple repairs being done at the same time each charge is treated as a separate call which seems excessive to me, so that explains the 3 stars I was originally going to give them. Then the problems started. Bill replaced the flapper valve but did not have the faucet stems on this truck and would have to come back out the next day with them, but since he was not working the next day, Nick (who was driving down from Las Vegas to cover the area) would pick up the faucet stems and be out "sometime" on Saturday (at an additional service call charge) to finish the job. So Bill ran my credit card and was off and I was left with a partially dismantled tub/shower to await Nick "sometime" the next day. After waiting around the house all day for Nick to show up "sometime", he never did, no call no nothing. So I ended up having to waste a whole day and I am still left with a partially dismantled tub/shower and a charge against my credit card for an incomplete job. I know these folks have cell phones, Bill called Nick (at least twice) while he was at the house to make sure he would be out to finish the job and he sent him pictures of the existing faucet stems so he would know what to bring. But no call from Bill saying he would be late and no call from Nick saying he was not going to make it. Very very poor overall customer service plus leaving a customer with a partially dismantled tub/shower. Not good!

LOGAN *********was here on behalf of my insurance company, USAA. He had me show him the areas that were affected by the leak, and then he inspected the work done to repair the leak as well as the repairs being done to the wall board, pedestal, and the efforts to dry the carpet and everything that was affected. *** ********************ERIC******************** In February - I had a leak in a pipe at the outdoor faucet on the front of my home. Eric was sent out the next morning to evaluate the leak. After telling him what I had observed he was able to view it, assess the extent of the damage (a burst pipe) and give a reasonable quote of the cost to repair it, assuming he could remove the pipe assembly without having to open the wall. He also offered to do the same with the back yard faucet as well. I told him I wanted to do that. He was able to remove both - the front one had about a 1 1/2 inch tear in it. The back one was beginning to tear away at the threads. I'm very pleased with his work, his work ethic, and his offer to help me move a slightly awkward piece of furniture that had been displaced during the debacle with the H2O valve earlier. He was very positive, quick to get the work done, and personable. ******Ben Franklin Plumbing & Heating****** I would be pleased to have your employees work in/on my home any time they might be needed, and to recommend them and your company to anyone in the service area.

I put in a review 2 weeks ago regarding Benjamin Franklin plumbing charging me $6,754 for a bathtub install they said I had to have because they couldn't put the drain in that I needed on my old tub. Aaron the plumber did not tell me that they were going to put in a smaller tub leaving my bathroom a mess my floor is destroyed because it left 2 in without tile and it left my walls destroyed all the way around the shower and bathtub area with drywall for me to fill in by myself. If Benjamin Franklin plumbing would have told me they were going to destroy my bathroom by putting in that bathtub I would have never had them install the bathtub as I would have got another quote of gone through someone else that would not have left my bathroom a mess. When I left a review they said to contact them which I did I left message with Tasha Aaron Ryan Danielle for someone to call me and no one has called me. I am 67 years old and have no idea how to fix the tiling on the floor which is 2 to 4 in of their cement now and my walls all the way around the tub and shower that has to be drywalled and fixed. I'm putting in this review especially for the older folks that are vulnerable to be ripped off by a company like this. I would never want this to happen to anyone else. Go to any other plumbing company but do not go to Benjamin Franklin plumbing.

I saw this great video on YouTube from the evening news in Arizona about slow drainage of sinks etc. I called the number given & was referred to the Prescott Arizona location where I scheduled an appointment for them to come out to help me with my drains. I was very impressed with the products they demonstrated in the video. However, the appointment was unsuccessful. I called the number given to find out when the plumber was expected to arrive. I had scheduled for after 4 PM & agreed to pay $100.00 extra for after hours service. When I called back, a guy called "Peter" said that their scheduling computer system was "Down" & he had no way to check when the plumber was expected to arrive. At around 7PM the plumber called & said he was still in Prescott Valley, which is about an hour away. I had to cancel the appointment because it was getting late already. When I spoke with "Peter", he was rude & condescending. Based on my interaction with him, I'm not sure if I'm going to call to reschedule or not. I asked "Peter" to call a supervisor to help me. He said there was no supervisor. A company's products & services are only as good as the people who provide them. Ben Franklin himself would have been ashamed of the poor service I received. Just goes to show that what you see on TV isn't always as good as it is in reality.

1) GF Plumbing in Prescott, charges about $350 to $550 plus an hour so $ info on internet not even close. Quoted $1,300 to dig hole employee said would take 1-2 hrs. The parts are available on Amazon so math is simple when you get quote and ask how long job will take. 2) After completing agreed to work, BF did work that was not requested that disrupted immediate hot water to my home. I have recirculating water system where pump was turned off 5 years ago, but immediate hot water continued. This is called Thermal Syphoning, but BF didn't know anything about it even though it is part of plumbing training. Took me one second to google and figure out. Also communicated this to business, but didn't communicate to plumber. 3) BF Plumbing pressured husband to provide review on the spot. Never do this until job is completed and all issues resolved. Husband has no idea where review posted so can't undo. 4) Estimate was to replace exterior wall faucets (bibs), but didn't change even though just had to screw in vs removing dry wall and soddering. Highly recommend not going with this business- lots of other knowledgeable , reasonably priced licensed contractors out there.

i had 2 sinks in our master bath that were leaking from the hot and cold handles. these guys showed up and proceeded to provide a quote of over $900.00 for replacing 4 valves in the sink. along with a new shut off valve that couldnt coast more than $18.00 to buy. everything was clean and ready for replacement. however they said that they needed to go ba k to the shop for the parts, mind you these are standard plumbing parts and home depot or Lowes carry them. i said is that the best price you can quote. he then said that he could drop the price by over $200.00. my statement to him was why did I have to ask for a discount.? he had no answer.... in other words they are out to rip off the public. I went to a plumbing parts business, bought the necessary parts and finished the job myself for less than $200.00. these is the worst business that I have ever done business with. i tried to contact management but was told they dont have access to any supervisors. dont do business with this company . The plumber that gave me the quote said he did not want to finish the job, so I put the handles back together myself. Will not recommend this company ever.

I paid a hundred and twenty nine dollars for the plumber to diagnose and estimate the cost to install two toilets that I had already purchased. the cost estimate was $300. The first one was installed, and then the second one was installed except for the one foot hose between the valve and the toilet. The current one that we had was a few inches short. The plumber called back to his home office and they said it would be $379 additional for this ten dollar item. This is extortion, and should have been estimated upfront with the hundred and twenty nine dollar initial inspection and estimate. when the plumber was done.I asked him if he normally caulked the base of the toilet at the tile. he said, oh yeah, I should do that. see the pictures of the horrible caulk job. so between the extortion And the poor caulk job... The rating is appropriate. i am pretty sure that this posting will not make it onto this company's website and I will not be using them again. disappointed. the plumber showed up on time and was courteous explaining the 2 stars.

Do not trust this company! If you do have them come to inspect or maintain your AC/Heating or other appliances watch their every move! And don't buy into their "Hero's maintenance free," program! It's not any maintenance at all! Each time they come they will leave you a long list of expensive replacement parts for parts that are still working perfectly fine. They use scare tactics like "Oh this $10,000 unit might last you another 6 months to a year! If you don't watch them carefully you will be lucky if anything continues to operate after they leave! I watched the guy take a metal hard bristle brush and brush my motherboard to my ac with it... he claimed the motherboard was dirty but it looked clean to me. Metal brushes on a motherboard? Very questionable this company!
