M. Bell's review for Jesse with Baker Brothers. I called Baker Brothers to get a 2nd opinion and price for a supposed broken sewer line under my house caused by tree roots. The cost estimate from the first plumber that I called out had quoted a price for repair to be upwards of $10,000. After careful and extensive examination of my ENTIRE sewer system by Jesse with Baker Bros, it was determined there was no need for ANY repairs AT ALL to be made. Jesse was very thorough and had ME watch the screen as the camera went the entire length of my sewer line. With his equipment, Jesse was able to show me exactly from INSIDE of my house where his camera was UNDER my house at any given moment. I was very impressed with his knowledge of the situation and my mind was finally put to rest. I highly recommend Jesse with Baker Brothers. He not only saved me $10,000 I was quoted by the first plumber, but saved the construction mess and cleanup I would have had to endure. I will recommend this company to my friends and family for certain. Thank you Jesse and Baker Brothers! I appreciate you so much!

The technician relaced my ceiling fan which was not working very well. He inspected the area to assure that there were no problems. He installed the new ceiling fan perfectly. He was very professional, knowledgeable, and respectful. He explained the steps he made to me. His work was flawless. I was very pleased with the outcome of the service.

I just want to say thank you to our technician, Jonathan and to the team at Baker Brothers. He came in last night and helped us get our AC going. From the initial call and to the upcoming work we’re having to set up on our unit, everyone has been super helpful and transparent. We’re so grateful to have found your team to work with and we’ll definitely be continuing service for as long as possible.

Called Baker Brothers on the recommendation of a neighbor because of a possible slab leak. Technician came out same day which was great but failed to find the leak. Said we would have to replace the homeowners valve (2100$$) to begin the process of elimination to determine the source of the leak. When I asked about infrared thermal imaging he said he didn't know what I was talking about. Cost me 60 bucks and I still have no clue where my leak is coming from. Gonna call someone else!

I called Baker Brothers out to repair a commercial faucet. The only thing that was wrong was the small handle on the faucet needed to be replaced. They quoted me almost $600 and told me that because it was commercial it cost more. I sent them on their way because I thought this was highway robbery. My husband ended up going to the commercial plumbing store and purchasing the part for $27.79 and it took him one minute to install it. This type of price gouging is absolutely unacceptable!

Customer service, in terms of communication with the customer, sadly, appears to be the weak link of this company. Furthermore, when they do communicate, the level of unprofessionalism is simply breathtaking. This review is not about the competence or quality of work by their plumbers, at all, just for clarity. This review is about customer service, professionalism and attitude. Thus, viewing through this lens, below you will find a text I received from their field supervisor for our area. For context, I was given an estimate the day prior for over $7000 to do the plumbing work that I desired to have done. I needed to absorb this massive amount for a bit and had told this supervisor to give me a couple days to think about it. However, about an hour after talking to him the next morning, with a few questions I had, I just decided...let's just get the job done. So, I messaged the supervisor back at around 11:AM and asked him to please give me a call when he got a chance. Obviously, I didn't expect not to hear from him for another eight hours. I was ready to ink the contract and go. However, by 6:30 pm that evening I still hadn't heard from him, didn't hear from office staff, or otherwise. Ziltch. Just left hanging. So, once again I messaged the supervisor and let him know that it appears I must not be relevant to them as a customer and thus, I would just take my business elsewhere. Again, zero customer service, I had no choice. I needed to roll since we've got a bad prv out here. Okay, maybe the supervisor was busy, you ask? Have the office team reach out to me... that's called professionalism! That's called customer service! Stop for 30 seconds and let me know you're tied up, will get back with me as soon as you can. A $7100 project was on the line here, folks. A dismal customer service failure. And, when the supervisor finally did reply back to my final text message... this is the message he sent back to me: "I'm sorry you're not my only customer I've had to talk to today you said for me to call you when I had a chance. And I'm also sorry I don't have a set schedule" for work. Wow! Shockingly unprofessional response that exposes an attitude that's unacceptable. In other words, sorry buddy, I got more customers than you...deal with it. Folks, there's your sign. They just lost a very nice $7100 job. I will never use Baker Brother's again. Would you? After years in senior management for the largest news company in America, great customer service means alot to me. It truly matters, big time. If companies feel customer service is not a top priority and desire to become famous for subpar customer service...we, the customers, can let all of DFW and America know. Actually, that's my speciality with a news background. Only as necessary, I'm sure customers would be more than happy to oblige, pursuant to their own personal experiences for receiving less than satisfactory customer service. High-Cost Installation, Zero Post-Sale Support or Communication This review is regarding a $31,000 investment (a $25,000 system/install plus $6,000 for additional insulation) that has failed to deliver on professional customer service or clear communication. Failure to Offer Maintenance: I was never offered a maintenance plan at the time of the initial system installation (two years ago). As a customer who just spent $31,000 on a new system and insulation, I absolutely would have purchased a maintenance plan if it had been presented to me. Blaming the Customer: Two years later, when I called for service, the company now informs me about the necessity of maintenance and attempts to shift the blame to me for the system not being properly maintained. I relied on them, as the supposed experts, to advise me on how to protect my massive investment. Poor Management Response: When the issue escalated to a manager, the conversation was unproductive. Despite my clear frustration--and while I acknowledge I used some strong language--Oscar the manager attempted to prematurely terminate the call by claiming I was talking over him, even though he was doing the same to me. The conversation just felt like lines were drawn and he was defending the company, placing the blame on me rather than taking care of me as a valued customer. And today, the service was extremely disappointing, especially after paying a discounted rate of $305. All the technician did was pour water in a tube and blow air into it. This minimal effort took less than 5 minutes, which felt like a complete waste of money for the diagnostic value provided. Unresponsive Call Center/AI: The company uses an automated AI answering service, which often feels like a way to avoid customer service. My issue was classified by the system as "urgent" and escalated over an hour ago, yet I still have not received the promised callback. In Conclusion: This company installed a high-cost system but is indistinguishable from "the rest of the run-of-the-mill companies" when it comes to professionalism, follow-through, and customer support. The lack of proactive communication and subsequent blame-shifting is unacceptable. I used to highly recommend this company, but I'm not sure that I can do that any longer after my experience with them today.

I had a very disappointing experience with Bakers Brothers and would strongly caution others before using them. I originally called because my electricity was acting strange while Oncor was actively working on nearby lines. Bakers Brothers told me it would be a $60 diagnostic fee, which I agreed to. When the power issues seemed to improve, I called to cancel--but was encouraged to keep the appointment "just to be safe." That turned out to be a costly mistake. When the technician arrived, I explained the situation and he observed voltage fluctuations that were likely tied to the ongoing utility work. Instead of advising me to wait until the external repairs were fully complete, he began recommending upgrades. He quoted me $1,266 for a surge protector upgrade, then escalated to $2,548 total after talking through additional "lightning protection" components. He used personal anecdotes about damaged homes he's seen and emphasized warranties and protection coverage, and signing up for a membership could save me $400 on the work today. Which made the situation feel urgent and risky to ignore. Based on that, I agreed. After installation, I reviewed the receipt and found it was charged as two identical items at $1,266 each, with a note saying installed three components. When I researched those parts myself, I found retail prices around $185, $94, and $79--roughly $338 total. Even with labor, Industry guidance suggests installed costs typically fall in the $500-$800 range. I was charged over $2,500. When I called to question this, I was told the pricing reflects their overhead (call centers, fleet, etc.) and warranties. That explanation does not justify such a massive markup, (312%) especially given the circumstances and the sales pressure. I feel taken advantage of during a situation that was likely temporary and caused by external utility work. What should have been a simple diagnostic visit turned into a high-pressure upsell with pricing that appears significantly inflated. I would recommend getting multiple quotes and doing your own research before agreeing to any work with this company.

July 31, 2025 started out with us getting a roof that we had to pay for through Mesquite Roofing and construction. The process of getting the roof install was pretty smooth until the workers hit the a water line on the water heater leaving damage to the attic water wise, leaving Sheetrock damage in the garage area. Bakers Brother was the company that installed the water heater with the exception of the pilot light going out twice, it's had been a deceit experience. They came out each time and showed up on the same day of the call. Fast forward Baker Brother (Bobby Townsend)said the water line was where it was due to poor construction by the builder and their job was to only replace the water heater. Not prevent any future issue such a as today's. (Josh) They finally said that they replace the water line but wouldn't take accountability for their work. The house was built in 1989 and Im almost positive that if a company replaced a product, they should take measures to make improvements and not just do minimal work and take people hard earned dollars. They also laid the blame on the City of Mesquite inspection saying it must be good enough or they wouldn't green tag it. ( its words). They blaming Mesquite Roofing and Mesquite Roofing is blaming Bakers Brothers for the install. Basically nobody wants to take accountability and after paying out of pocket for a roof l am also having to get the area dried out and have the ceilings. Moral of the story, don't your homework. I definitely would not recommend Bakers Brothers after this is incident or Mesquite inspection department Trust No one...

We recently found a leak in our front yard. We have "Service line" coverage through our property insurance, so we called our insurance to figure out what we needed to do. They told us we could use any company to fix it, so we called Baker Brothers, because BB is who we have used since we bought our house in 2021. The leak was fixed, my husband coordinated with our insurance company, and he financed through BB when it was time to pay. When we received the reimbursement check from our insurance company, though, we realized they weren't covering the full cost of the repair - we still owe over $1500 to BB. My husband called our insurance company to ask why and they informed us that they reimburse based on a market cost analysis and that BB charges far more than the average plumbing company in our area. They suggested we try to obtain an itemized invoice so they could try to reimburse us more. My husband called BB to ask for an itemized invoice and we were informed that BB "doesn't do that." To add insult to injury, when our leak was repaired, ANOTHER leak was left by the repairmen, resulting in a continued increased water bill. We have spent tens of thousands of dollars with Baker Brothers since 2021. We had a gas line repaired, we bought a brand new HVAC unit, and we've had several plumbing problems fixed. To find out that this company is not only significantly overcharging but also refusing to be transparent about costs is disheartening and frankly maddening. It seems unethical at the very least. Unless this situation can be rectified, we won't be returning to Baker Brothers.

I was extremely disappointed with the service I received from Baker Brothers and feel compelled to warn other business owners. I specifically requested a morning appointment, yet the technician did not arrive until the afternoon, which already disrupted my salon's operations. Once he arrived, I was quoted an outrageous amount just to change sprayers on our shampoo bowls. To be clear, only two out of six shampoo bowls were not working before he arrived. When the technician left, only two were working -- the two he never touched. The four bowls he worked on were left non-functional. On top of that, I was quoted $5,000 to replace four vacuum breakers that were working perfectly before he showed up. Despite all of this, I was still charged $800, even though the only actual repair completed was a small pipe issue on one bowl that took maybe 20 minutes. It also felt concerning that the technician had to call his manager for nearly every decision, which did not inspire confidence. I was left questioning whether a less experienced technician was sent because I was a new client. Overall, this was a very frustrating experience, and I genuinely feel like I was ripped off. Like other reviewers have said -- beware. The charges are excessive, and the results did not match the cost or expectations.

I was really disappointed with my recent experience with Baker Brothers. I scheduled a visit to have a simple faucet replacement done, but the technician came up with multiple reasons why he couldn't or wouldn't do the job. He didn't want to turn off the water under the sink because it was an "older style" shutoff. Then he didn't want to turn off the main water to my condo unit because of liability concerns--he even mentioned that if a neighbor's water heater wasn't full when the water was turned off, it could "fry" it, and they didn't want to be responsible. Instead of focusing on how to solve the issue, the technician kept pointing out why he didn't want to do the work. He criticized the PVC pipes, saying he doesn't like working with them. He also gave his unsolicited opinion on my faucet choice, saying touchless ones "go bad in two years." Frankly, I didn't need commentary--I just needed the faucet replaced. To top it off, I was charged $59 for the visit even though no work was done, and he didn't even realize I was a "family plan" member (which I had signed up for), because I booked the appointment online. Shouldn't that be something checked before arriving? The whole experience felt like a waste of time and money. I expected better from a company with such a strong reputation.

Baker Brothers is the kind of company that gives the entire industry a bad name. I called them out when my HVAC stopped working, and they told me the blower motor needed to be replaced $1,900+ for the part alone. I paid the service fee, only to later realize my system was still under warranty, meaning the part should have been covered. When I called back to ask what the labor charge would be to install the part under warranty, they shamelessly insisted that the $1,900 was for labor only. That's right, they tried to charge nearly two grand for what is, at most, an hour of work. Either they're completely incompetent or they're running a deliberate price-gouging scam, neither of which makes them worth your time or money. The blower motor itself costs under $400 online, and anyone with even basic knowledge of HVAC systems knows this. This is not a company interested in doing right by their customers. They're interested in exploiting people who don't know better. Save yourself the frustration, the money, and the insult to your intelligence. do not call Baker Brothers.

I want to recognize the excellent work and professionalism provided by Michael Bryan and the Baker Brothers Team during both the original repair and follow-up visit. This was work performed in an older home involving the kitchen disposal, dishwasher, drain stack, and floor access area. The company returned promptly to address concerns and made the situation right by installing a proper clean out access in the cabinet area for future maintenance access. Michael Bryan was knowledgeable, patient, communicative, and thorough throughout the process. He took the time to answer questions, explain the work being performed, and ensure the final installation was completed correctly. The company’s follow-through, accountability, and customer service were greatly appreciated. Quality plumbing work is not inexpensive, especially in older homes, and this experience demonstrated the value of a company and experienced technicians that stand behind their work. Very satisfied with the final result.

I had cracked plumbing pipes as a result of having my foundation raised. While I was not shocked that I had this new issue to deal with (the foundation company had made it clear that this was a possibility), I was disappointed, especially after a conversation with the plumbing company they work with and the quote for the repairs. I decided to get a second opinion and called Baker Brothers. I had used them recently on a different issue and they had done a great job. I requested the same plumber that was assigned to me the first time, Andrew Hayes. Baker came in at a considerable savings. Andrew performed his duties exactly how he explained and then met with city inspectors and conducted a hydrostatic pressure test that is required, as it ensures that there are no leaks in the system, and they signed off on his work and gave their seal of approval. I have found Baker Brothers to be efficient, communicative and transparent and would not hesitate to recommend them.
