Baethke did a great job of presenting options for a variety of plumbing issues. We proceeded with the most crucial items. Technician Jack Elkin did an excellent job of repiping one area and pursuing additional problems that we discovered along the way. The work was professional and communication with the company was easy.

If you need plumbing services call Baethke Plumbing. If you are lucky your technician will be Billy McMahon. He was knowledgeable, professional and honest. He explained all my options with ease and clarity. I would use them again and again. Thank you Billy for a job well done!

Baethke Plumbing was incredibly prompt and friendly attending to our water heater problems. They arrived quickly on a Saturday, explained the problem clearly, and completed a full water heater replacement in an afternoon. The technician, Jack E. was sincere and reliable, making the whole process stress free. I will definitely call them again for any water heater or major plumbing needs. Highly recommend!

Do not use this company! They are over priced and rude. They quoted me $1900 for something that should take under 2 hours for a professional and $30 in parts. When asked why it was so much, he said I should just do it myself. I ended up having my husband do the the job himself after he got home from work and it took him an hour and a half, including a trip to the hardware store and it cost us $11 for the purchase of the caulk. Part of that pricing was charging us $800 for new piping that was not broken, it is such a scam. Do not trust this company. They were so condescending when my husband called and asked to speak with the technician, it’s like they got pissed off when they realized they couldn’t scam us. This is not how a local business should be ran, they are predatory and the neighborhood shouldn’t trust them to do anything.

Had them come out for a kitchen clog. It took about 45 minutes to identify the issue and do a couple tests. I paid $129 them to just come and the options for a solution ranged from a $250 drain clearing solution to $800+ for using bigger auger. Pricing seemed high all around. What I didn’t appreciate in addition to the pricing was that he continued to ask me if I needed to talk to my husband to make the decision. That is just unnecessary when I had made the appointment, met them, explained the issue, etc. If I needed to speak with my husband I think I can make that decision. Edited to add: we had another local plumber come out and the fixed it for $150. Thank god I didn’t fall for this.

We have been using Baethke Plumbing for about 7 years. We have always found them reliable, friendly, informative, and most importantly the best plumbers. I am writing this review for our most recent experiences with them. We finally had the resources to remodel our basement bathroom which was put in by the previous owner. We worked with Baethke on properly venting our bathroom and repiping the ejector pump. Having Mike and Chazz come out during the critical stage to make sure the venting was done properly really put our mind at ease. Chazz has actually been great to work with through the entire process of how to fix the plumbing issues we inherited in the basement of our house. We also had a water heater issue unrelated to the construction that I noticed after midnight. I was so worried I called the emergency line, and wasn't sure I'd get a call back. I did! The owner, John, called me and calmly explained what to turn off and that things were safe enough for them to come the next morning. John actually came the next morning and fixed the problem, plus a few other items. We aren't the most handy homeowners, so it really means the world to work with a company that you trust. I had a tenant without hot water so I called John. He scheduled an appointment right away. He provided a very detailed inspection which I appreciated and provided 3 different options to address the problem. Then he suggested we go the most inexpensive route! New tank installed same day in a couple of hours. No mess left behind. Nice and honest guy, great service. Called Baethke & Son again because we had water leaking in through drains in the basement. They sent someone out same day, assessed the situation, provided a repair proposal, and completed the job swiftly after we approved the proposal. This company is great. Plumbers are very thorough, skilled, reasonably priced, and always clean up after themselves. Love the service. 2026 I left a post a couple years ago but I had a recent incident. I called Baethke Plumbing when our extractor pump shut off and caused a flood. They sent someone out right away and took care of it. They could have easily sold us a new pump but didn’t. They just got everything working again. This is an honest and fair company that does great work. Need a plumber? Stop looking! Call Baethke.

I had a 3 day project with Baethke Plumbing starting on Friday, 4/17/26 through Monday, 4/20/26. I had a new in home flood back water valve system installed. On Tuesday, 4/14/26 I had 5" of water in my basement from a backup from the Chicago city sewer system. A BIG SHOUT OUT TO ISSAC & MIKE who did a phenomenal job on the installation!! They were very professional & were focused on providing 100% customer satisfaction. On Saturday, 4/18/26 John Baethke, President & CEO of Baethke Plumbing was on-site all day working hand-in-hand with Issac & Mike. This was an amazing experience for Greg Dytko (me) that John would support the Dytko family to recover from the flood. I now see how Issac & Mike get their 100% customer satisfaction skills from. Baethke Plumbing is FAMYLY!! I would also like to give a High-5!! to Cathi. She was amazing in scheduling all the work quickly & efficiently. She is very organized, professional and customer focused.

Update: i’ve had two more visits since my first experience and both were just as good as the first. Matt took care of a stubborn drain. On this last visit, Isaac F and Mike B replaced my dead water heater, installed new valves, hooked up the waterline to my new fridge and did so with great service and very friendly demeanor. It makes having a stranger in your house, a lot less awkward when they are not only great at repair, but also are able to communicate well and answer all your questions. I will definitely continue to return to Baethke for my plumbing needs. A friend referred me to Baethke plumbing and I’m so glad she did! I had a stubborn clog in my shower drain. Brian and Joey were friendly, explained the procedures and very quickly took care of the issue. I will absolutely be reaching out again for any plumbing needs. Highly recommend!

I was impressed with Baethke Plumbing’s prompt and sincere service. They arrived on time, were knowledgeable and friendly. The plumber explained everything clearly and I feel confident in the work plan he developed. He went the extra mile to locate and order a part that’s no longer offered by Kohler, that’s needed to complete the work. I’m looking forward to the install and want to thank Baethke family for going the extra mile to get my Shower upgrade done correctly. True Professionals 2-24 , My part has arrived and I’m scheduled for my next appointment BTW I have a leaking shower door and while they don’t do that work, the referral was in my in box before I hung up. I’m truly looking forward to a smooth install

Baethke Plumbing and my service technician Jack E. were excellent today. Professional, sincere, very friendly and especially on-time! Jack E. was extremely respectful of our private space (ie. our home) and asked permission for each area of the house he needed to access for inspection. Friendly, personable and professional is how I would describe my service technician today. Baethke Plumbing was an excellent choice for us when we replaced our two 50 Gallon Water Heaters. And, the annual whole house plumbing inspections keeps us informed about the status of our 145 year old home. We are very happy with Baethke Plumbing. They are an excellent choice!

Billy was absolutely top-tier. He’s insanely knowledgeable, walked me through what was going on in plain English, and the quality of his work shows. On top of that, he was genuinely a great dude to have in my home: professional, respectful, and just easy to work with. Huge shout out to Karly as well! She handled scheduling, stayed on top of everything, and was with me every step of the way while I dealt with coordination with the HOA. She kept things moving and made a stressful situation way more manageable. If you need any plumbing work done, ask for Billy… and if Karly is coordinating, you’re in great hands. 5/5, highly recommend.

I am late to wiring up this review, but wanted to give a shout out to Karry at Baethke Plumbing. We had an emergency situation in our condo. The building management was totally uncooperative and we were at risk of serious damage to not only our unit, but also our neighbors’. Karry was a lifesaver, and this wasn’t a straightforward issue and solution. But he went above and beyond - was professional, informative, helpful and adaptable helping to come up with a solution and making it happen. I really can’t say enough how great the work was and how appreciative we were of Karry’s help. Excellent experience all around

Our experience with Baethke Plumbing was fantastic! Chazz was right on time, explained everything fully and gave us options to choose from with how to proceed with fixing our shower. He also walked us through what he repaired and had us check things to make sure we were happy. (Our dog was a big fan too). The communication from the company ahead of the scheduled visit was also great with reminders and notifications of when Chazz was on the way, including a photo of him so we knew who to look for. We would totally recommend Baethke and use them again if needed in the future.

I called Baethke Plumbing when my water was backing up and needed a quick emergency plumber. Matt and Mike arrived within an hour, were incredibly personable, nice, and explained the repair in plain language. The whole experience was fast... they knew what they were doing and were able to come up with the best solution that solved my problem. They even cleaned up after they were done working.
