The two main water shutoff valves on either side of the water meter were about 35 years old and were not properly shutting off the water, so I called a few plumbing companies for estimates. B&A Plumbing was the most reasonable one and since their reviews were good, I decided to try this company. One company with good reviews quoted double of what B&A charged me. Dean from B&A Plumbing came in today and I showed him the location and he quickly replaced the two valves. He then asked me to call the village to turn on the water and when they did, he checked to make sure there were no leaks before leaving. Overall, Dean was easy to work with, friendly, and I am happy with his service. The only area of improvement is that since I had to coordinate with the Village, B&A could have been more detailed in their explanations on what was expected. Also, while giving out an estimate, give a final number so the customer can get a sense of the what it entails. Just quoting hourly rate isn't enough. I almost went with another company but decided to persist and get a total estimate. The final cost was lesser than the estimate which was a nice surprise. Overall, 5 stars and I will call them in the future in case I need service. Price was reasonable, I paid by check to avoid a 3.5% fee. It's great to support a local Schaumburg business!

These guys are SO GREAT. My garbage disposal FELL DOWN (yikes!) and they were able to come at exactly the time I needed. Bobby and Ilga helped me over the phone, and Dean knew exactly what to do - he installed a new one and made sure everything was working. I feel so much better now!

So happy with my experience working with B & A plumbing! From the start Ilga was so helpful and kind and then when Dean and Jesus came out they were wonderful! Dean is so calming and knowledgeable and knew exactly what to do! In addition, he very patiently answered so many of my questions and addressed my concerns with empathy and expertise. They apparently don't warrant some of their work. When we had the same problem happen anew less than a week after they completed the work we hired them to do, they charged us more money and said the prior work wasn't covered by any warranty!

Not happy with the quality of the repair I received in 2021. I called b and a to replace a 42 year old simple backyard spigot, it was leaking. Two young men came replaced spigot and the interior copper pipe. The repair had a one year warranty. One and a half years later the spigot was pouring out water from the exterior vacuum seal. B and A would not come out and look at it unless I paid $182.00. They told me I must have left the hose on during the winter. No I did not. The last water source and copper pipe lasted 42 years! The old one should have caused serious problems long ago. I am a senior and really trusted that B and A would stand behind their work since they were a local company. I was so wrong. The end result was the interior pipe was split and I had water in my utility room. I regret changing the original spigot and regret trusting B and A .

Let me start by stating that I typically never write reviews and my husband usually takes care of all repairs in the house. After discovering we had a hole in a pipe in our wall on a Sunday, my husband decided this is more that he really wanted to tackle. After clean up and a temporary fix to get us through to Monday, he made 4 calls to 4 companies based on reviews from the local FB site. One call back asked us to send pics and then he backed off, another said he could maybe stop by later in the day & to call when him back in the late afternoon (code for no thx), the third was in Elgin and was trying to see who'd be available to come to Schaumburg and then we got the call back from B&A. They scheduled an appt to come out Tues morning. They showed up on time as promised and got to work. The initial problem was address and repaired quickly. We then discovered the issue was bigger than we originally thought. Corrosion in one pipe meant problems with the others. Ultimately they had to schedule a second appt to break into the concrete to make the fix. They came back as promised and fixed the issue. It was the best case scenario thankfully! I was scared to look at the bill for the two visits but it was honestly a great surprise. They were very reasonable and the total came in less then the deductible on our homeowners policy! A big thank you to Jim & Ryan for a job well done! I highly recommend B&A!

Updated review: B & A Plumbing continues to provide great service! Ian came to our house to address a rather tricky laundry tub drain issue and he was extremely friendly and professional. Everything was explained so that we could understand the challenges involved to resolve the problem. We have received consistent quality service from B & A for a number of years now and would highly recommend them for any and all plumbing needs. Wow! B & A Plumbing really came through for us today. I am visiting my parents from out-of-town this week and we noticed that a downlight on the ground floor of the house was dripping water after running the upstairs shower. We feared that the problem could be significant, however we decided to reach out to B & A on a Sunday and Bobby was able to come out shortly after we made the call. Bobby was very courteous and quickly assessed the situation after cutting a small piece of drywall from the ceiling. The leaking P-Trap (which was copper and over 50 years old) was removed and replaced with very little disruption to our day. I can’t recommend B & A enough and we will always be grateful for Bobby coming to the rescue!

If I could give a half star I would. I have used B&A before and while the plumbers themselves were very nice and professional the pricing seems to be way off. They charged me $1700+ for a Reheem 40 gallon water heater (not high-effeciency). Total bill was $2025. That night I checked Home Depot's website and could see that what I paid $1700+ for could have been purchased at HD for something in the $600-$700 range. I understand a mark-up but $1,000+?! When I called B&A the next day their answer was 'you should have/could have purchased the water heater from Home Depot'. I spoke with a seasoned plumber who confirmed that I was overcharged. I trusted them to give me good service (which they did) and expectd a competitive price (which they most certainly did not). Never again. I highly recommend you stay away from B&A Plumbing.

Toilet clogged and water started to overflow, wetting the entire floor and the basement ceiling underneath, and this all happened at 1:00am on Friday night. The basement wetting was a concern, and didn't want to risk unclogging the toiled myself fearing there might be some unknown leaks in the pipes. Saw that B&A was open 24hrs so I called, and the call center lady was very nice accommodating. I figured I'd ask for a call first thing in the morning, but Bobby called about 10min later. I explained the situation, asked him if he can come earl morning, and he did. He came on time, fixed the toilet, confirmed that there are other leaks, and charged me 2/3hrs even though there's usually an 1hr minimum. Thank you Bobby Thank you B&A Plumming Now I see why they have such a high review.

If you’re looking for plumbers in the Schaumburg area look no further. These guys have a very long history in Schaumburg (Family owned business) and are the most honest plumbers in the area. They won’t overcharge you or use any shady techniques (like most other places have from my experience), but most importantly- They get the job done. They are more than happy to work along with the Village of Schaumburg as well for Witness Rodding to make sure everything goes smoothly. Not to mention, super great team! From setting up an appointment to getting my sewer lines rodded for roots, everyone from B&A was stellar and did a fantastic job. Shoutout to Dj and Derek for being such great guys and helping me with my sewage backup problem. Thank you again!

My Brother-in-Law used B & A Plumbing and told me what a superior job this company provided, along with the price. I knew they were from Schaumburg, I called to see if they'd service the Wheaton area and they do. My shower did not have hot water and I needed someone. I called and they were able to send someone the next day. Bobby was professional, respectful, answered all my questions and took the necessary time that was needed to complete the project (no rushing). For what I needed, and the price they charged was very reasonable. I would definitely recommend B & A Plumbing without any hesitation. And definitely request Bobby for my projects. It was a pleasure to work with this Company!

I realized on a Sunday night that my water heater was leaking, so I called Monday morning at 8:05 and B&A Plumbing was at my house at 8:30am with a new water heater. It took about 3 hours to install because my piping was not to code, so they took care of everything!! The price was moderate, but I have learned from past mistakes that the cheapest is not always the best! The team was respectful, did a great job, and kept the area clean. I was referred by a friend who used this company, and I would definitely refer this company out to everyone I know. Thank you B&A Plumbing for preventing a future disaster!!

My gas water heater pilot light wouldn't stay on. I called and they came by within a couple of hours of my call and were able to get it re-lit. They showed me what they did, explained the problem and what a replacement unit would cost. The plumber said that I would likely need to get it replaced due to the age and configuration if it went out again. Well, within a couple of hours the heater went off again and I could not get it to restart with their instructions, so I called back and was able to get them out same day to replace the heater. The work was done quickly and professionally, and at the quoted price.

I had an issue with a toilet and and adjacent sink. I was afraid that there was a break in the common drain pipe after having had a similar problem a dozen years ago. The plumber B&A dispatched was Mike Freier. He was very friendly, professional and competent. He worked quick and clean! The problem turned out to be a minor one, thankfully. He was done and out in an hour. And he gave advice on how to prevent the sink issue from recurring. He provided, by far, the best plumbing experience I have ever had. If all the B&A plumbers are as good as Mike you would be silly to call anyone else.
