The pricing is fair and truly fits my budget. They’re transparent about costs, offer clear estimates, and never try to upsell unnecessary services. It’s refreshing to work with a company that delivers quality work at an honest and reasonable price.

I was not impressed with Appliance Express. I contacted them because my 3 year old Whirlpool oven (that was in the house when I bought it) kept randomly losing power. I wasn't sure if it was an electrical issue in the house or a problem with the oven, but I started with the appliance. I made an appointment with Appliance Express--they couldn't tell me until the day before what time they'd come out, so I had to allocate the entire day to stay home. The day before they texted me with a time range, so narrowed it a bit. On the day of the appointment the repair guy called me when he was on his way, which was helpful. The repair guy was very nice but didn't strike me as being terribly knowledgeable about our particular oven. However, he suggested that it needed a software update (which required first connecting the oven to our WiFi). He gave me a phone number to Whirlpool support who could assist in connecting the oven to our WiFi and downloading the update. He barely touched the oven, other than to look at the current software version on the display. But for that helpful little piece of advice about needing a software update I was charged $162.36 by Appliance Express. They could have just told me over the phone, before someone ever came out, to try that solution first. I got the oven connected to our WiFi (I'm a retired IT guy and am very intentionally judicious about what I connect to our home network as I'm very aware of the security and performance/bandwidth implications of connecting devices willy-nilly). Once connected, I had trouble getting the update to install. The repair guy watched for a little while and then left. I called the Whirlpool number and they were very helpful in getting it sorted out (it turned out there was something they had to initiate on their end). After the software update I have had no problems with the appliance (other than I think it's stupid that an oven requires Internet connectivity and software updates to function). So, in the end Appliance Express identified the likely problem so that I was able to take care of it myself, but they charged me $162.36 for that little nugget of information. They could have just suggested over the phone that I try that first before they came out.

Tyler came to repair an IE error on my LG washer. It started leaking immediately and still had the error. Wasn't leaking before Second tech David came out. He left me with the same issue. I was left with a bigger mess than I had to o begin with. Then I get this text. "Ms Stephenson, our service and management team have reviewed your washer repair history. Due to our inability to find any further failures during our visits, we are unable to continue with service. A full refund has been provided to you and you should receive confirmation of the refund shortly. Thank you." Apparently water pouring out of a washer is not a failure. They worsened the problem then wouldn't take responsibility. Not good.

UPDATE: Appliance Express refunded me for their "service". TL;DR: Beware of these guys. They wanted me to replace a $3500 oven when the real problem was a blown fuse, and denied it could be it even after shown evidence. Ended up hiring another company in yelp and they solved it for $140. Email thread follows: On Thu, Jun 25, 2020 at 10:57 AM XXXXXX wrote: Given your lack of response I ended up calling another technician. He said "It wound up just being a couple fuses that have blown". They charged the same as your visit to check AND FIX the problem. On Mon, Jun 22, 2020 at 06:48 XXXXXX wrote: How do we proceed here? There seem to be multiple fuses in the unit. This particular fuse was out and he was getting exactly the same error (and the display was working, as well as the oven). What is your number? I can call you back. I'm very surprised by your answer, to be honest. On Fri, Jun 12, 2020 at 4:42 PM Appliance Express wrote: If that fuse is out the machine will not display at all. I see a multitude of sites online and youtube videos (see for example: https://youtu.be/KUTTQ8wzpAU) which show the F6E0 error is fixed by replacing a simple fuse. Clearly there *are* fuses in the unit (go to 4:32 in the video to see them). Maybe the technicians want to take a second look? Thanks, XXXXXX. There are not fuses or circuit breakers on your unit that would cause those types of errors. That is the reasoning for the parts installed because one thing can take out the others and cause numerous error codes to occur. I hope this was helpful and answered your question. Absolutely terrible company! Bait and switched! Over the phone with Whirlpool it was confirmed I would be covered for all parts & labor for 5 years and I was within that timeline. No mention of any service fee to come out. It was explained that I would have no out of pocket. The scheduling department of Appliance Express called me to quickly get set up with repairs. They were super friendly and efficient to get me in quickly. The problems all started as soon as the rep Lou walked through the door. I could tell immediately by his body language that he was looking for a quick shift punch out and go off to lunch and didn't want to be bothered to get into this repair. He was very abrupt in his communication and asked who I had come out before him and I explained a small one man business and he started down talking them asking if they even spoke good English and all sorts of disparaging remarks instead of focusing on fixing my damn refrigerator. 20 minutes went by and he had no fix and then proceeded to tell me I'd need to pay a $149 fee first before he could go further. I said no, nothing was mentioned about a $149 service fee in fact Whirlpool confirmed I'd be covered. He said the dispatch team always tells the customer about this. Well guess what, no rep told me this. He proceeded to be combative. I started calling the office and he started to pack up. Complete jerk. As I was on the phone with the manager for Appliance Express he made zero effort to try to remedy the situation and basically told me to take a hike. The manager on the phone was also just as useless and instead of trying to make good on things she made the situation worse by saying "well we only tell customers about the fee if they ask". Are you kidding me?! First it was supposedly covered as per Whirlpool so I already felt like Appliance Express was pulling a fast one, but it was confirmed they are untrustworthy as the manager straight up said they hide that info unless someone asks. lol. That's awful. I wrapped up the call explaining they should look for an incoming Yelp review. And that was her chance to try to remedy it but instead of that she got snippy and said well will look forward to it! And I hung up. Absolutely irritating experience and waste of my time and day. Now I'm back to square one trying to find a competent repair company that is friendly and reliable. These people are not it! Steer far away unless you want to get jerked around.

Edit: Appliance Express sent another technician to our and secured the dishwasher to the cabinets - problem solved. My GE dishwasher stopped performing the wash cycles and it was apparent that it was a problem that I would not be able to fix myself so i decided to have a professional do the work . I scheduled an appointment to have a technician from Appliance Express to check it out. At the first visit I explained what was going on he took a look at it and made a diagnosis and said that he would have to get the part and come back again. The next available appointment was four days away so we scheduled for for him to return complete the repair. The same technician returned for a second visit, installed the part and it turns out that the part he replaced was not the problem. He made a second diagnosis and said a third appointment would need to be made. The next available time was five or six days out so it was scheduled. At the third appointment a different technician arrives, installs the part and fixes the problem. The next day I load dishes into the dishwasher and see that the machine is rocking and is not secured to the cabinetry. We find a screw on the floor and see loose brackets on the sides of the machine. The next day I called Appliance Express, explained what was going on and scheduled an appointment. The second technician arrives again for my fourth appointment and looks at the what is going on. He explains that he was not the one who removed the screws and is not able to remedy the problem as the holes have been stripped and the wood may split if he were to drill new holes. Long story short - after multiple visits and over $300, the original problem was fixed but a new problem created by the 'professionals' that they are unable to fix themselves. We were not notified by the first technician that he was unable to reinsert the screws and secure the dishwasher, we had to discover this problem ourselves and call Appliance Express out on it. .

I got a letter from Whirlpool regarding a potential issue with my dishwasher that could cause leaks. They said they'd fix it for free, so I contacted Whirlpool, and they set up the appointment with Appliance Express. When the technician showed up, I asked him what the issue was, and he explained that on a few machines, the heating element had melted, so they were replacing the heating elements on certain machines. So he replaced mine, and all went well, or so I thought. The next time I ran the dishwasher, I found that it was no longer heating the water. The heating element would come on for the dry cycle, but not during the wash, so my dishes were still dirty, with baked on food from the dry cycle. I do know for a fact that my dishwasher used to heat the water, and according to the owner's manual, it is supposed to. It also has "Hi Temp" and "Sani Rinse" features, and I'm not sure what those would even do if the dishwasher did not have the ability to heat the water. However, when I contacted Appliance Express, I was told that the element was only for the dry cycle, and this person actually told me that she had been working there for seven years, and had never even heard of a dishwasher that heats its own water. I have spent some time on reddit, so I should no longer be shocked by someone so confidently incorrect, but I was gobsmacked. I don't even know where to proceed from here. I tried contacting Whirlpool, and they sent me back to Appliance Express. The dishwasher expert told me that they could send someone out to take a look at it, but that I would have to pay for it. I have to pay to fix the free "fix" that they broke. That does not sound reasonable.

This review is for problem resolution. My washing machine started making a noise about a month ago during cycle changes... clicking noise- mechanical. So on a Saturday I called two different appliance repair companies from Yelp. Both of these companies told me to call Appliance Express due to the type of washer I had. So on Monday I called and had an appointment set for Wednesday. Art came out.... extremely nice guy, but we couldn't duplicate the sound. He let me know that although I would be charged for the service call it would sit as a credit on my account. Next time it makes the noise record it and email them the recording. Well the following Saturday doing laundry it started making the noise, recorded and sent the video. Callie called me and let me know they needed to come out and repair it. I forget the gentleman's name who came out the second time, but he let me know they needed to replace the cam. Now I'm in to this less than two year old washer for about $259.00. Sooooooooooo following Saturday.... yeah... same freaking noise. I recorded, emailed video, called Callie Monday to let her know I was a little frustrated. Refund my money I paid on the cam, and I'll eat the service call. Callie asked me if they could come out one more time. I reluctantly agreed, but I let her know I can't afford any more money in this thing. Scott shows up Friday... New England man so it's hard for me to be pissed. Scott replaced the gear case. Washer runs like a top. Appliance Express charged me $ZERO for the expensive ass part and labor! Thank you Scott, and thank you Callie, and thank you Appliance Express!

When I bought a Whirlpool Refrigerator from Home Depot a few years back, they didn't install it correctly and the French doors weren't closing properly. Appliance Express is the authorized repair facility for Whirlpool and they came quickly and promptly. They leveled the fridge slightly backwards so that the doors closed properly. They also showed me how occasionally a little ice would get into the light switch in the freezer and how to get it working again. Just recently the ice maker stopped working. I found a good video on YouTube on how to replace it, it's not very difficult. However, I'm not good at bending over and upside down to get into the freezer and decided to call them. They were quite busy at the time and made me an appointment early the next week. They showed up on time, with plenty of advance notice (I really appreciate that from service companies). As suspected the technician let me know that the ice maker was dead and needed to be replaced. The agreed upon price was reasonable (with the first service call deducted from the total) and well within what I was willing to pay. They let me know they'd come back next week when the part came in. Again, they showed when they said they would and it took Luis about 5 minutes to replace it and make sure it was working. With a one year warranty on their work, I was quite happy to pay for this repair. Appliance Express is an excellent, honest company and they're the only ones I'll call if the refrigerator (or any of my other appliances) need repairs.

This company is so easy to work with that I actually felt pampered. First, the office personnel is extremely polite and accommodating. Second, the automated system contacts you prior to your appointment to confirm it. On the day of your appointment, the system contacts you to advise you that your repair person is just wrapping up his previous job and will be at your house soon. And thirdly, when repairman, Luis Morales, showed up, I was stunned that he knew my refrigerator's issue within one minute. Amazing! It was better than going to see a doctor with a health concern. You spend time in the waiting room and then the nurse weighs you, takes your temperature, blood pressure, and gathers all the symptoms. Next, you see the doctor who might not even get your issue right. You miss half a day of work by then! In the past, other service folks have taken things apart and spent an hour mulling over an issue, not always solving the problem. I've seen little pieces of metal, screws and wiring all over the floor. Not anymore! Luis can identify your refrigerator, oven, washer, dryer or dishwasher's illness almost intuitively. I gathered that he has been doing his job for many years. Appliance Express performs warranty work for numerous manufacturers and businesses, including Lowes, plus any type of appliance repair, warranty or not. I highly recommend this fine company.

2 stars on Yelp means "Could've been better". That's the truth here. The guy that came over to look at my microwave was awesome and nice and super honest and saved me money by some of his recommendations that I can follow for the rest of my life. That guy gets 5 stars. But I gotta ding the company itself on my score because it was like $160 or so just to have them just come out and look at it. He was at my place for about 20 mins. It felt a little bit like robbery. If they're not at your place for more than 30 minutes and they don't do anything but give you some pointers, it shouldn't be more than $50 or so, in my opinion. When I requested the appointment, they knew exactly what model of microwave I had (a cheap Whirlpool), so they could have just told me it's cheaper to get a new one before they even came over. After the gouging, I ended up just getting a cheap $85 countertop microwave from Best Buy and am just using my over the range one I was trying to get repaired for the exhaust fan. I'm just trying to save people some money here... Point is, if your microwave needs repair and you can get a comparable microwave for anywhere from $100-$300, you're better off just getting a new one than hiring Appliance Express (or probably any company) to come out and look at your microwave and possibly repair it. I probably should have known that already.

My dryer was making some weird loud buzzing sound so I called Whirlpool to set up a warranty service. They contracted Appliance Express to do the work. They sent a guy named Joseph over to check out my dryer. He was probably one of the most customer-service oriented techs I've ever met. He's had years of experience working with appliances and quickly went to work to try and figure out why my dryer was making the buzzing sound. We both collaborated to see if we could figure it out after he opened up the dryer (which surprisingly seems like a simple machine after you open it up). After some disassembling and checking for loose screws and parts, we couldn't find it and he put it back together. It was still making the sound. After trying a few things here and there, we finally found the problem. It was an issue with the design of the dryer where there was a plastic rim that goes around the bottom of the dryer. Apparently the ever so slight spacing between the plastic and the metal was what caused the noise. Through this whole ordeal Joseph was very patient and tried whatever he could think of to find the problem. He even gives you tidbits of useful information on maintenance of other appliances around the house. If you ever need work done on your appliances at home, I would say call Appliance Express and ask for Joseph to come do the work.

~Totally misleading. Total frauds. Would not recommend. The problem ended up being "the easiest fix" for my GE gas stovetop according to their GE knowledgeable technician. The issue is Appliance Express sent out a GE novice technician the first time and charged a $125 diagnostic fee. This was days AFTER confirming with Appliance Express the exact GE stove and serial number. So they sent out a Non-GE technician for what they knew was a GE Stove. As you guessed it, he wasted an hour messing around and no diagnosis was made. I got as far as he did at figuring out the problem and I didn't cost $125. Time and my money wasted. Subsequently, Appliance Express stated they needed to send two technicians because the problem was too difficult for one technician to solve, and yep, charge a second diagnostic fee. The second time they came out, it was a second knowledgeable technician who fixed the problem in minutes, and the same first novice technician that had already wasted my time. The novice technician was clearly there as an observer to learn. This was not a problem that "requires two technicians." And yeah, they charged $366 in addition to the diagnostic fee. For "the easiest fix," which could have been done the first time if they sent a GE technician to fix a GE stove. Time and Money Wasted.
