I live in Kahului and had a leak on our main water line coming from the County water meter. I met a few plumbers at my home to discuss repair options and cost. I ended up choosing Allens Plumbing because of Brandon R. He was professional, courteous, and responded to each of my concerns with options and suggestions. He was on site for the repair process and served as my single point of contact. Brandon's team followed his example of professionalism, competence, and timeliness. From the initial site visit to closing the County permit, Brandon and Allens Plumbing team were excellent to work with. I'm stoked to have selected them to fix my plumbing problem. Based on my positive experience, I recommend Allens Plumbing.

Preston is very meticulous and proficient in his craft. He went over and beyond to make sure everything was fixed and completed to the highest standards. Very professional, punctual, friendly, and he took the time to answer all my questions patiently and clearly. I was also pleasantly surprised how quickly my call was serviced.

Rarely do I give one star ratings but this was frustrating. Can I give a one star for no service? Let's see. Called Allen's for minor plumbing (the hose was stuck onto the washer spigot and after trying all YouTube suggestions and DIY remedies - the hose was stuck and water was already leaking probably from our attempts to untwist the hose attachment. "Let's just call a plumber, they may just need to replace the spigot without further damage," hubby said. Made the call and unfortunately could not accommodate an immediate appointment (a day later) only to find out on the day of the appointment that "the plumber's running behind and we need to reschedule to the next day." A day is not gonna kill me so we agreed. Only to wait all morning for a 12 noon appointment then to be called 30 minutes prior to reschedule AGAIN because their technician "may not be familiar with that job." (Insert wtf face) I guess we won't be calling them again. Zero service and 1 star customer service.

Allen's Plumbing was called to replace the toilet tank hardware for 3 toilets. I was told that the hardware had to be purchased. Instead of going to the nearest store, the plumber went to a farther one. The 3rd toilet tank hardware never got replaced. I was told that the shutoff valve needed to be replaced. Instead of calling the Board of Water Supply to turn off the water, I was given an involved story about replacing the main valve. My bill to change 2 toilet tank hardware amounted to over $500!!!!!!!

Saturday morning, after 14 yrs my water heater finally tapped out and started leaking through the bottom insulation and panels. Thankfully, we caught it in time!! No water or mold damage to my unit or the connecting unit.. whew...!! I messaged a few companies via yelp and some were very slow to respond (days later), but Allen's Plumbing were surprisingly instantaneous. I'm sure it was a bot at first, messaging me for heater info, but once info was submitted, Kane (Allen's rep) contacted me and started appointment process. By Sunday I was locked in for a job assessment appointment. Though there was some unplanned, uncontrollable challenges the day of assessment appointment, Kaohu (Allen's scheduler), was able to request necessary information / photo's to keep the work process moving forward. Thankfully this made things so much easier and faster. By the end of the phone call I was booked for heater replacement. Following day I received another call from financing as I chose to finance the repair instead of out of pocket.. (yes they have financing options).. they let me know that I was approved for financing and that they would furnish me with a quote. Later that day I received the quote for 3 repair options: 1) replace in kind, 2) replace entire system: heater, solar panel, circ pump, piping and valves, or 3) downsize and upgrade to hybrid system. The quote was very transparent! Cost to replace, discovery work, tax credits and even cost of equipment and valve replacements that was not included in option 1 package. I took a gamble and chose option 1 - 'replace in kind' hoping my existing equipment and valves were still good and functional. Thursday came and the technician's showed up.. I call em the 3-J's: Jonah, Jesse, and Jaren (haha). They got their tools and equipment situated and got right to work. Pulled out the old heater and installed new heater. Relocated existing pipes and circ pump to now sit on top of heater, freeing up some space in my already small/ storage less townhouse.. The team was very polite and kind, worked well with each other and very respectful with noise.. I almost forgot they were out there working lol. Anyhow, the boys got it done, left the place cleaner then I gave it to them and walked me through the install and changes before they left. Really appreciated the work they did and how professional they were. Side note: option 1) replace in kind. This option did not include circ pump, mixing valve and or controller. If my equipment didn't function correctly it would have been additional cost to me. So big gamble on my part. I'm highlighting this because the guys made every effort to inspect existing equipment and since found in good condition, did not replace it 'just to make the sale'. So I felt effort and honesty should be highlighted in this review. I really REALLY appreciate that about this company and work crew. They weren't out to take my make money. Overall.. great job to the 3-J's and admin team! I highly recommend Allen's for your next job. Mahalo for making this experience a less painful and enjoyable one. A hui hou -Happy Customer

A friend referred me to Alan's Plumbing she was very pleased with the service they had provided for her single family home for many the company is based out of Maui but does service oahu. I had a small issue with my bathroom Basin needing to replace the cartridge in the faucet where it was starting to leak. Prior to this call I was so impressed with what I have been told I signed up for their Ohana program it's quite a good deal you need to look into it. Anyway on the day I tried to make my appointment I called as soon as they opened spoke with Mike Mike was very helpful unfortunately that phone call rolled over to dispatcher who apparently was having a busy day I'm guessing. I followed up with her twice that day and about 4:15 figured out this was not going to be happening today . When I called at 4:15 she advised me that we would need to reschedule for the following day at 8:00 or 8:30 I agree to that and that is when the service began to escalate. At 8:30 d a v i n called and said he was at my condominium which has no extra parking for anyone and there was a Mayday program next door at the school . Got him a parking stall left a note on the dash and he came upstairs we had a short conversation about the dispatch event . I'm just mentioning that in the hope that maybe in the future the dispatchers could call the customer and let them know if they're super busy maybe they're request isn't going to happen today and reschedule at that time instead of having the customer continue to call you back that is my only issue with that . Back to the work at hand d a v i n was very personable , knowledgeable and had a great friendly personality. He tried his best to get to the cartridge in the basin, as I watched him it absolutely appeared that the unit was frozen after all it was 10 years old . He discussed what we could do and gave me the option of getting an entirely new faucet. I chose the new faucet , and I do not regret getting it . He brought it upstairs showed it to me I explained to him my concerns about the unit as I am on the 6th floor of a condominium and truly cannot afford leaking into my neighbor's apartment he understood he spent time doing this and put all of his knowledge of Plumbing into the job to make it work right. All in he was there for approximately an hour and a half I have an amazing new bathroom faucet , and probably don't need to do anything about it for another 10 years or more. I know we're all trying to be very frugal and make wise decisions . A wise decision is when you have pride in your property and do make the changes and update what needs to be updated deferred maintenance never is a good idea. d a v i n I thank you so far all is well and I have had nothing but compliments from friends about the unit you installed . As I joked with you you just up the appraisal of my apartment by that upgrade. I'm glad I signed up for the Ohana program if you haven't heard of Alan's Ohana program give them a call they will explain it to you it is again what I consider to be a great deal anyway . Call them, what have you got to lose.

Below is the email I sent to the owner Steve in which he never responded. I have to add that my technician, Daniel (though he was late because of his boss) was professional. "Aloha Steve, I am going to also submit a review on Yelp. Let me first say that I was referred to Allens by my long time friend Jorge Chong of Hawaiian Flooring. I called and made an appointment and had a technician, Daniel, come out and give me an estimate, which there were two amounts, one for approximately 2000$ and a member price that was significantly cheaper. I initially thought the price was high but when I called I was told I should purchase the membership and I thought that price was reasonable so I requested that as part of my service order and made my appointment. Keeping in mind that I took paid leave from work off (4hrs at 8hrs of leave accured per month) Daniel showed up almost two hours late. I called and made my complaint, which I was told Id get some discount that Daniel wouldnt see on the invoice. Daniel and his partner completed half of the job and left while I was at work. I also tipped Daniel 100$ in cash before I left as a good faith gesture. When I came home I realized that no one had called to schedule a time to finish the remaining drain repair AND there was no discount nor did I recieve the member price ( a little over 1700$). The following morning (Wed Aug 16) I called and was told that a manager would refund the difference as it was in the notes that I wanted the membership and then I scheduled the remainder of the work for that Friday (Aug 18). Later that day I received a call from the manager stating that I did not qualify for the membership, I voiced my opinion and still continued to keep the appointment with Daniel as he knew the remaining work. The following day (Thurs) I received a call from Cheryl stating that Daniel wouldnt be available and that he was going to be used on another job even though I was previously scheduled and had an appointment. I said ok.. Then later called back and cancelled. I then called Waialae Plumbing. They came out the next morning on time and completed the drain repair (widen drain from 1.5 to 2") and they did it in less than three hours for 600$. Their tech asked about the plumbing and I shared my experience with Allens, to my surprise, he said that he would have done it all in one day for 1400$, as thats their average cost for tub to shower conversions. So what couldve been a 1400$ job cost me 2400$ (1700$ to Allens/ 100$ tip and 600$ to Waialae Plumbing) not to mention my time off that was wasted waiting around for someone to be on time. Based on my experience, I wont call Allens again, nor will I reccommend Allens to anyone. " So the moral of this long story, dont bother calling Allen's Plumbing and dont expect a response.

I'm very disappointed with the work done in my condo. I called a month ago because my downstairs neighbor said there was a leak in my bathroom that was damaging her ceiling. Randy came out and said the toilet was leaking and he'd have to unscrew it, take it off, and screw it back in tightly so it would not leak. He did a sloppy job, did not take off the old grouting and just added a few spots of grouting here and there. It was very poorly done. My neighbors complained it was still leaking, so he came out again and replaced my bathtub fixtures. He explained that it was loose and that's why the water was leaking. Ok.... a few days later my neighbors called to say it was still leaking. Same guy Randy came back and said it was the bathtub spout. Now I'm angry. He charges every time he comes over plus he still hasn't fixed the leak. At this point I've spent over $1,000.00. My neighbors call me again and now they are mad because there is still a leak. I call again and I'm told the same guy would come back after he finished his jobs that day. Ummm....noooo....I don't want him to come back, and I want someone here now. This time 2 different guys come back and suggest I have my entire bathroom replaced. Meanwhile, Randy had covered the big hole he made in my neighbor's ceiling with plastic trash bags. I scheduled a drywall guy to come and fix my neighbor's ceiling but I don't want to pay him $450.00 to fix it until I know the leaking has stopped. I called again (5th time) and as I was trying to explain to the office clerk how I needed to get things done, she rudely cut me off and said someone would come tomorrow morning again and hung up on me. I am very unhappy with my treatment and their inability to fix a leak after I paid close to 1,200.00. I'm not sure what will happen tomorrow, but one thing I am sure of is that I will never use this company again.

I thank God that Allen's Plumbing was referred to me. I think the dispatcher, who was amazing and also able to pick up on my frustration must know his or her technicians/Plumers because Tyiwara A, who was sent out to my home, had patiently listened to all of my complaining (frustration) and assured me that he was there to help me. I had called and dealt with 4 other plumbing companies before calling Allen's Plumbing. I will not list the names of the companies as that would be slandering which I am not taking apart of, but let's just say that all four of those "Plumbing Companies" were clueless and did not provide much information on how to remedy my leaking pipes. One of the companies didn't even show up. No phone call saying they are running behind or anything. Just did not show up. Tyiwara was the opposite. He explained what the challenge is and what he can do to fix it. Even took the time to draw a sketch educating me on how the indoor plumbing system works and made me feel like, "Ok, now I have someone with years of knowledge that knows what's going on and how we can get this/these leaking pipes fixed and back up to good working conditions. Tyiwara is scheduled to come back later today so we can come up with a plan and execute said plan ASAP. I'm still frustrated at this whole situation as most people would be. Difference is that now I feel like I have a team on my side ready to address the challenge so I can finally get this done. Thanks to Tyiwara! To Allen's Plumbing, I just want to say thank you for your fast response and I'm looking forward to fixing this nightmare. Would lastly like to say to Allen's Plumbing that you are blessed to have Tyiwara on your team. He is definitely an amazing asset to your company and a solid solution to my plumbing problems. I would and will be recommending Allen's Plumbing to everyone I know.

SHADY PRACTICE $550 to change a shower cassette back in April a 30 min job $50 part... a few months later the handle was worn so that needed to change again. Found out at home depo the cassette should have been changed along with a shower kit for $130-185. The cassette is included in the kit. The technician lied to me 1st he said he may have to go through the wall in back of shower to repair a valve...1st lie.but then he says for you sir ill try to minimize your cost then he says we'll ill have change a part unnamed... 2. But it's a special part and I'll have to look around to find it. Lie #2. There are about 3 manufacturers of cassette and shower kits all supply together carried home depo. The young technician who was shady came back with his helper several hours later saying he had searched all over...lie #3.. for the special part which is so common like condoms in a strip club mens room..and are in the shelves at home depot $37. He said he finally found it at fugeson plumbing supplier. 3. Then within 30 min of arrival the shower was magically repaired a half a day later so with the part its $550 and that he was lucky to find the part because sometimes they are discontinued #4 LIE. AND that he did research to find valve cassette. 4. Outcome to change worn handle I went to home depot bought an entire shower kit for 130 which includes that very same special part. And a shower pipe, head, handle, handle plate...I changed all first time doing so in less than 40 min. I also checked the shop rate for the 1st hour is about 195 an hour however to change a bath set or kitchen faucet set usually there is a flat $200 plus parts. Slim Shady just changed a valve/ cassette for $550. I called to lodge a complaint and no acknowledgment was ever given. Take your hard earned money somewhere else

We have used Allen's Plumbing multiple times to repair both residential and commercial leaks. They have consistently been responsive and professional over the years, albeit a little pricey, which is warranted because of their responsiveness. Today, however, was a different story. Today, Saturday at 1:00 pm, a second floor office tenant called and said a water supply pipe in the shared Women's bathroom was leaking and there was a lot of standing water on the bathroom floor. She said she shut off the supply valve but water continued to leak. I immediately called Allen's Plumbing because of their past responsiveness and repair excellence. However, their answering service took several minutes to record the service request. When giving her the address, I must have had to say and spell "Waialae" five times before she got it correct. She told me Allen's would call back in 20 minutes. They actually took 39 minutes to call back. The kicker was that after I had explained in detail to the answering service that a pipe was leaking and we needed service immediately to repair since the shutoff valve was not turning off the water, and water was all over the floor in the second floor restroom and leaking into the first floor bakery, the Allen's Plumbing nitwit who returned my call asked if I needed immediate service or could wait until a future time for their service. When I reiterated to the nitwit that the pipe was leaking and this couldn't wait for future service, he said we don't have anyone to do the repair today. I am thinking, then why the F ask if I need service immediately? So bottom line, don't call Allen's Plumbing for repair service on the weekend, or if you do, find out first if they can do a repair immediately.

Easter 2021- very very windy!!! We have carpet in the house so we usually have the kids dye eggs outside Incase they spill the dye...... no problem. We set up our tables, chairs, and tent. While setting up the tent, the wind was so strong, it was lifting the tent up. We decided to put some big buckets of water and tie them to the tent to try and hold it down. No competition for Mother Nature that day!!! So I grabbed my metal pegs and we secured the tent. The kids had fun dying the eggs and hunting for the plastic ones. It was just about to get dark so we decided to break down the tent. When we pulled one of the pegs out, water started to shoot out from the ground. OMG, we hit a water line when we pegged the tent down!!! We notified the association and they sent someone to do a quick plug until we got a hold of a plumber. We tried calling several places and they all acted like they could not be bothered!! Rude service on Easter ,really? We finally called Allan's plumbing and they were so pleasant and courteous. Although they could not find someone to come out on that night, they assured me that they would call me as soon as they opened the next morning. They not only called but scheduled me an appointment and kept in contact with me. Although it took a few days for someone to come out, I was willing to wait ( as long as the plug would hold up) because of the great customer service they had given!!! Customer service goes a long way with me and it was very appreciated that night. Even the tech that came out was really nice and courteous even though he had to try and fix the hole in the rain. My dad even held an umbrella over him to try and protect him from the rain! Thank you Allen's Plumbing!!

Here's the pros: they do answer the phone when you call, even later at night and they offered emergency services for an additional $300 but I could wait till the next day for my issues. Reps were very nice on the phone. Getting someone to come out to my area of the island was also an additional plus. Cons: my tub diverter/spout needed to be replaced. When the worker came, he took everything apart to see if he could fix things and mentioned that the original repairs were done wrong and that he could risk breaking a pipe if he went ahead and repaired things properly. In my mind, since I'm not a plumber, I trusted what he said but on the flip side, I've been living in my unit for almost 6 years and never had an issue with the spout the way that it was so I'm assuming it was originally done properly. To make a long story short, he found a way to get a new spout back on so my shower could work but the sealing that he used is already cracked and the spout is loose... that was never an issue before and I'm very upset considering I paid almost $300 for this and it's not very secure. He never went over payment plans with me even though on the phone, I was told that he would. He also kept mentioning he didn't want to be held responsible for things breaking later on or damage- I definitely understand his concerns but as a professional apart of a reputable business, he shouldn't have been worried about his ability to do his job nor should he have been expressing that to a customer. All in all, I'm disappointed because I don't know how to resolve this sealing issue on the loose spout I paid almost $300 for.

My husband called Wednesday to schedule an appointment to have the technician come to fix a couple of problems with our bathroom sink and garage sink. Appointment scheduled for Friday the 15th at 2 pm. Come Friday 2 pm comes and goes and husband calls to see if technician is on his way since we had an appointment schedule for 2 pm. My husband mentions to the lady at the office we have an appointment scheduled for 2 pm and her response was that even if the appointment is schedule for 2 pm that means technician can arrive anytime after 2 pm which makes no sense why even schedule an appointment if can just come anytime after scheduled appointment. Anyways, she said technician has until 4 pm to come to our house. Okay whatever 3:30 pm comes and still no technician. Finally at 3:40 pm get a call that technician won't be able to make it stuck at another clients place. Husband said fine reschedule for today 4/19/2022 for 8:30 am. Husband gets a call a little before 8 am that technician didn't come in would need to reschedule. The thing is I find this company to be very irresponsible and unorganized. People take off from work to be home for these appointments and can't always be taking off for appointments that can't even be met. Obviously, we decided to go with another company that actually needs our business and money. It was a complete waste of time for us. I'd recommend take your business where the company meets your appointment time and values your business.
