I've used Albion three times and I have had consistently had great customer service and work. They are very professional and easy to communicate with. I had a sink backup in one of my apartments and they were even able to squeeze me in same day. They take detailed notes for telling me probable cause of any issues which I appreciate as a landlord. I highly recommend them.
Noah came over he was very knowledgeable and honest. He came over around 6 pm, We are so greatful he was able to come. We will book a routine clean out in 6 month. If you want a nice and straight forward Plumber, Noah is your guy. Thank you Noah, see you in 6 month!
Just had the best services from Rooter Hero employe, Abel Espinoza! He arrived on time, wore protective footies, listened to my issue (poor drainage issue) quoted a price, and immediately began work. He finished in a minimum of time, with drain now working perfectly. Abel was professional, answered all of my questions and explained how this happened and how best to take preventative measure. I highly recommend asking for him if he is in your service area. I am in the north Bay Area.
I called this company on 12/23/24; they changed my appointment two times. Finally, when the plumber, Josias Estrada, came without looking for a clean-out, He stated all the main lines were clogged and that he needed to remove both the toilets and snake from there, and that estimate was $827.When I asked your website was showing $88, he said that if I unclogg from main cleanout. This house does not have a cleanout line. It was hard to believe; I told him there was a clean-out line in front of the house, but the plumber insisted it was not the clean-out line. I disagreed with his estimate and called a different company, Cal Home Construction. The following day, they found the cleanout, which I pointed out, unclogged our toilets in less than 15 minutes and charged us less than $100. I called Rooter Hero customer service and provided the cleanout line photo, and the representative told me someone would call me back, but It never happened. I would not trust this company for any of your plumbing work. BEWARE OF THEIR ADVERTISING PRICE. Job Id 817773450182
We called them to get a drained cleared for $77 because it's a great price, or is it? For frame of reference I am a journeyman plumber so I know what I'm talking about. Had a clog I couldn't get out so I called them in. To be fair they were here for about two hours and put on a good show, looked like they were really trying, but were they? The head they were using wasn't the correct head for the job, it was a flimsy spring head used for looser clogs instead of the needed cutting head or at least a larger spring head. After two hours of show they told me they'd need to cut my ceiling open to inspect a pipe and that'll be $300, and they are pushy about it. The proposed job was going to be about $3k-$4k and I said thank you, paid them the $77 dollars and declined them cutting open my ceiling. Called another plumber the next day who came out with the right equipment and blew out the exact same clog in about 20 minutes. You do get what you pay for apparently.
I don't like to be harsh but I do like to be detailed & honest and I think this company will try to SCAM you. Before you hire them, give them your hard earned money, and trust them to work on your home, please continue to read this and previous reviews. Also, check them out on the Better Business Bureau site. There you will see they are not accredited by the BBB and received a D- score from them. They cite failure to respond to 9 complaints for the reasoning. Also, there are 64 filed complaints (65 after I file mine) in the last 3 years, 36 closed in the last year, and the neg reviews give them *1.21*out of 5 stars. Now, my personal experience. My parents are seniors. They rent out a property which had plumbing problems two years ago. Rooter Hero told them they needed all this work done and charged $20,000. It took two weeks and was a huge job. They also left a huge mess as everything/all furniture was covered in dust, the walls throughout were also coated with a thin layer of dust. They didn't bother to cover anything with plastic or give any warning to move things out of the way before hand. What a way to inconvenience a customer who spent so much money. Fast forward to the present. In the same house, a tub and shower are clogged upstairs- even after all the work they did previously. They can't snake it and say it's a separate line that was previously worked on for the $20,000. Which, ok, it was. They come back the next day to assess the downstairs. I'm there to let the guy in. He's in, glances at two parts of the ceiling, merely 1-2 mins to make his assessment, then he's out. Doesn't ask me any questions about the plumbing downstairs but comes to the conclusion that this needs to be fixed right away. He calls my dad, telling him what needs to be done and asking if I can sign for him. My dad wants to sign on his own, so at the drop of a hat, the guy is willing to drive 50 miles to my dad is for his signature. About an hour and a half later, I call my dad for an update. The guy is standing right in front of him for his signature. He says they're starting today and they will be sending guys over NOW. I was confused at the rush & suspicious at why he would drive so far for a signature. It was around 3pm, they couldn't wait for the next day? I complain things need to be covered / moved beforehand and there's no time to do that. I quickly hop on their yelp reviews and their profile on the BBB site. I read the many reviews of them quoting jobs overpriced by thousands & thousands of dollars & and possibly preying on vulnerable seniors. I call my dad again. The Rooter Hero guy is gone by this time and my dad had signed. I ask what their quote was. He says $21,000. They also told him they would finish in two days. What $21,000 job takes two days? And my parents had already replaced so much for $20,000 so what possibly could cost that much? I warn my dad about what I read online. He puts Roto Hero on pause, and I find another company for a second opinion. Guy came out within an hour of my call. I could tell this person did his absolute best to fix the problem as he spent 2.5 hours trying to snake the pipes, looked for the crawl space, went on the roof, and with permission - cut open the wall a little to view the pipes downstairs. And yes! he cleaned up after himself. He put in so much effort in contrast to what was done by Roter Hero on their assessment. After he did all he could, he gave an estimate for the job- $5200. It ended up being $6800 after they found another issue. But $14,200 LESS than Roter Hero. We went with them of course, and the job was complete in two days. I think Roto Hero was willing to drive 50 miles unplanned for a signature and wanted to start asap to secure the dishonest estimate for $21,000. A SCAM and they know it. My experience matches the multiple reviews online. If you are reading this and still considering hiring them, do yourself a favor and consider another company that is honest and won't try to rob you of your hard earned money. (And leave a mess).
This company is a complete SCAM. Look at the previous comments. I had them come out and was hesitant about their services, my tub and shower were clogged. A guy comes out and tries to snake, said he couldn't make it past a few feet (WTF?!) He then said his supervisor needs to come out with a camera, working in Inventory in plumbing I know ALL technicians have cameras if they're dealing with a plumbing issue so that was an immediate red flag. They then stated they had to do a hydro power clean out which would cost $1,900 from my roof to flush the debris away. The average cost to hydro power clean a sewer line is $700, the lowest is $300, the highest is $1,100 if you're LUCKY. Running this by my friends at Pace Supply & Ferguson stated this company is a SCAM & that they will literally bait and switch customers, give them one quote then redact it and claim that you need everything replaced at a ridiculously marked up value. What this company is doing isn't only unethical, but illegal. They're going to get sued sooner than later, I will fight them tooth and nail in court because the problem I was supposed to pay them to fix wasn't fixed, thus why I refused to pay from the get go and demanded to be invoiced. Their shady practice is nothing short of vile and predatory. I can't wait until a class action lawsuit bankrupts this company and those involved are charged with financial conspiracy, especially around the elderly and vulnerable. They recommended I get a $20,000 CLEANOUT installed. A cleanout literally on average costs $650-$2000. Anything above $3,500 is strictly commercial for larger buildings, NOT single family homes. $20,000 for a cleanout is absolutely criminal, I also noticed it's a trend on so many comments under this page that they try to upswell any update for $8,500+ or $20,000 It's interesting how these people working there think that not everyone has their expertise in plumbing. I've done inventory all over California for various plumbing warehouses & know what's right and what's complete fraudulent and unethical. I know what the prices are for every plumbing product and what the average costs is for manual labor. After "finishing" the half complete job, they unprofessionally hung around my house for 2 hours, chatting and talking so they could burn time on the clock. This lead my neighbors to contact me saying they felt uncomfortable with their lingering presence. The manager was literally there during all of this, WTF?! They blocked my from exiting my driveway as their car was parked barely a few feet in front of the stop sign *illegally I might add,* and refused to move as I was backing out. They literally had lunch right in front of my house after the fact too, absolutely unprofessional in every capacity. Here's a few pictures of the lackluster job they "completed." If you refuse to pay them because of their shady services that are botched they will threaten a LIEN on your property, I'm not even joking. Avoid this place like the bubonic plague, I can't wait until they're sued into bankruptcy. This company is EVIL, PREDATORY & UNETHICAL.
Rooter Hero Plumbing and Air of San Jose - Yelp Review Awesome Service by Mr Francisco technician, the HVAC tech specialist from Rooter Hero Plumbing and Air of San Jose Francisco educated and made me aware of the super beneficial Annual Hero Club Rooter Hero Club combo membership (Plumbing + HVAC) Paid 270 for a year and got all the fabulous benefits membership comes with. There's nothing like it. Note I am the family member of the Rooter Hero with Priority calling, Priority scheduling and Priority Appointment service, all top of the line!! Francisco worked very hard in detail to clean the choking Condenser outside unit Vents / Coils/ Capacitor / mounted Condenser and Wallah. The outside unit now shines Francisco then went under the crawl space, and he installed the brand new insulation cover on all the A/C Condensation and Copper line sets followed by metal tapping and strapping to current codes. He even checked the R22 freon gas refrigerant and ensured pressure was adequate, and volume in pounds filing in the A/C line was UP to the mark, and no major recharge required for R22 refilling. That was super cool off Francisco. Francisco then performed the deep HVAC Cleaning by vacuuming the entire Gas propelled Furnace, clean up all the burners, check for the CO2 Gas leak, ensuring the Electronic cartridge filters baskets were not clogged at all and furnace was all in the great condition. Francisco also climbed into the house Attic space, check the Air Ducts as well and ensure there are no possible outliers / anomalies w.r.t ducts being dirty and free of smoke, debris, Air pollutants, rodents debris etc No major AIR DUCT CLEANING IS REQUIRED, that was a very good signature. I was overall impressed with Francisco HVAc tech deep knowledge about the entire Heating and Chilling unit operation, functionality, logistics, and appliance mode of operation. Francisco is the JEM OF JEWEL, and I was blessed to have him on board to take care of my home HVAC SYSTEM. Mr Francisco is my now go-to HVAC guy, and I am not even looking for any other tech as long as Francisco is with Rooter Hero. ROOTER Hero Plumbing and Air of South Bay is the way to go and I can not say much enough about them other than they are strongly interested recommended and available 24/7/365, day / night doesn't matter. For any of the household plumbing and HVAC needs, the Rooter Hero of the way to go!!
I had Rooter Hero come out to unplug slow draining kitchen sink because they had 77 special. The guy came in looked at my sink and said I do not want to do further damage by snaking it. I need to look at all of your plumbing which he did. When he came back he said I needed new main drain or my sink would never drain properly and that would be $12,500. also said my pipes were leaking and I needed a full redrain with all new pipes that would entail opening the walls. That was $37,00 . He said they had financing available and called someone else to come over to explain it all to me but he was 45 min away so he was going to go get a cold drink while he was waiting. I took that opportunity to call another company for a second opinion. When the guy from rooter hero showed up he explained the issues he said they found and my sink would continue to back up because it needed a new main drain. Also said my pipes could burst at anytime without the repiping done to the tune of $37,000 . I said I could only do the main drain so I signed up for the financing and scheduled an appointment to start the work the next day. 2nd opinion showed up 2 hrs later and inspected my pipes without me giving them any information from rooter hero. They tested bathrooms stating they were draining fine, I did not have any leaks from pipes under the house and all my pipes looked fine. I then told them what I was told the problem was. they said I did not need any of that work done the only issue I had was my kitchen sink which they unplugged for me. I called the company and cancelled my appointment for the next day. Then I cancelled the financing they signed me up for with no problem. Rooter hero showed up the next morning to do the work. When I told them I cancelled that they said they were not informed. Seems they have a problem there. They asked why and I said I had a second opinion that did not recommend the work. The tech then said he stood by his assessment . If I really needed the work it seems that second opinion would ggive me a lower quote to get the job. Do not trust this company! I almost got taken
Outstanding Service!! T A Roberts Plumbing (Find my 5-Star review) recommended "Rooter Hero Plumbing" and, as luck would have it, RHP are running a $77.00 special through the month of July 2023. For $77.00 They unclogged and Video cam'd a nasty sewage line back up that had been vexing an 83 year old Man in an Alameda, one story townhouse, for months. Very fast response - onsite within 2 hours. Very professional. Now they are repairing a badly damaged underground (under slab), cast iron sewage pipe, cleaning up the flooded-mess inside the house (two bathrooms, hallway, bedroom), replacing a toilet (or two), and turning frowns into smiles... Being a Licensed General Contractor, I get called by friends and friends of friends to recommend "specialists" and oversee these type of repair operations quite regularly. I concurred with RHP's approach, diagnosis, recommended repairs and overall approach & philosophy; not to mention NO-price-gouging! Are they expensive? Well, in a word, yes. This business model is likely a national chain therefore needs to kick-$-upstairs a couple of times however, this does not mean they "scam" as other disgruntled reviewers would suggest. They cover their arse (and yours) with right/correct/modern procedures/recommendations. All plumbers working at this level and managing these type of problems are, relatively speaking, expen$ive. Blame Liability Insurance, Workers Comp, Licensing, State Regulations, Equipment expenses, warehousing, to name only a few... However, they do provide financing if needed (who does that??), and they perform with a superior level of urgency and professionalism. And believe me, when a homeowner has a mess like this, Rooter Hero is precisely the team you want to show up and make repairs! There are so many amazing "knuckleheads" in the service trades; and it's difficult to find good help/service anywhere, at any price, these days. Take a note folks, "Rooter Hero Plumbing" are the right guys to call... Thank you fellas for making ME look like a Hero! LOL
This company is disorganized, pushy, overpriced, and has questionable policies around providing estimates. I opened a project here on Yelp for toilet installation. I did not ask for this specific company, but Yelp sent out the request to multiple service providers, as it routinely does. I did not ask for same-day service or for someone to be sent out immediately. I attached a detailed video to my project request, showing what needed to be done: replacing an old toilet with a new toilet. Just watch the video and send me a quote. Pandemonium ensued. Rooter Hero sent me simultaneous conflicting messages from two different numbers - one asking me when would be a good day and time, and the other telling that they were already on the way. The more I explained that I did not want someone coming out today, the more messages I got stating that the plumber was now on the way to my house. When I called up to make sure he would NOT be sent out today, the phone attendant promised that they would cancel the order and not send him out without coordinating it with me. A few minutes later, the Rooter Hero truck pulled up to my house. I had to literally get someone out of the shower so I could show him the bathroom, even though I had never asked for him to come in the first place and was promised that he would not. The plumber barely spoke English, so I switched to Spanish. HE SAID HE HAD NEVER HEARD OF YELP. I showed him the toilet and explained that we'd like to switch it out for a newer one. He orally quoted a price that was more than double the cost that was given by other plumbers in response to this project request. I asked him to have his company send me a quote in writing, and he responded that ROOTER HERO DOES NOT EVER GIVE WRITTEN ESTIMATES. I thanked him and he left. I called Rooter Hero back a third time and relayed the entire story. I was told that there is an escalations manager who can speak with me, but he doesn't work on weekends and I should call back during the week. I thanked her and ended the call.
I called Rooter Hero in October about a tub that wasn't draining, Ethan was the plumber on call and came by with a snake within an hour. He reported a blockage that he couldn't "get through" and called his "supervisor" Braeden, who came by and after looking at our pipes recommended a "whole house redrain" of all of our horizontal pipes. They told us that any blocked drain was considered an emergency and that we should repipe our whole house starting the next morning. They supposedly called their manager and got us "special" pricing for $20,000 to do the work. They also convinced us to sign away any prospect of cancelling the work before getting an additional quote from another company. The work was completed within a single day, which I thought was suspect. And then they came back to inspect the work and told us that we needed an additional $15,000 of work to repair the drain pipe going to the sewer, using an epoxy to seal the pipe instead of digging it up. This time I got another plumbing company to come in and give me their opinion whether this work was needed. A plumber with 16 years of experience from another plumbing company told me that we DO NOT need to do this work, that we won't need to do any work for at least another 5 years, and a repair like that shouldn't cost more than $7000-8000. Not $15,000. He was also shocked that the piping work that was done cost me $20,000. I'm a first-time house owner and I trusted y Rooter Hero to provide me with the service that I needed. And I ended up with a bloated invoice for $20,000 worth of work that I doubt was even necessary! I am very unhappy, to say the least. I see other customers of Rooter Hero reporting quotes and invoices on Yelp and Google that conveniently seem to match that $20,000 number that I was quoted and invoiced, but thankfully they got another opinion before they went ahead with the work that Rooter Hero was trying to pressure them into. A terrible experience all around. High pressure sales. Customers beware.
Buyer Beware! I called these guys after my initial appointment with a different plumber fell through--I was willing to wait for hours to have them come out the same day, and the $59 coupon to snake my drain seemed like a great deal. The young man who came was kind, professional, and got to work right away. Within 30 mins he told me the clog in my drain was impenetrable with the snakes he used (even a "diamond-head" tipped one) and showed me what looked like soil on the end of the snake. He said the clog was likely a symptom of a larger problem, and that there could be a number of issues, but without hydro blasting the line and getting a camera in there, we wouldn't know for sure. He called his supervisor to get me a "deal" on the hydro blaster, and quoted me $1700, assuring me that whatever needed fixing, the $1700 could be applied to future costs. I thanked him for his time, and declined any more work, and paid him for his attempt to unclog my drain. The thing is, I had been quoted a hydro blast & camera inspection already from a local plumber for $350, so I knew the quote (nearly 5x as much) was price gouging. The next morning, I had another plumber come in; he snaked my drain (no diamond-head needed) and cleared it in under 40 mins. He even showed me more or less where the clog was, between the sink drain and the access point outdoors--a span of less than 10ft--said the clog was gunk, not soil. He didn't recommend blasting the line and guaranteed his work for 1 year. I will never call on these folks ever again. Take your time, and call around--they may charge cheap to get in the door, but beware! PS: it's been nearly 5 days and my sink is still draining perfectly!
Had appointment for 10-12. But an emergency came up and the technician stated we be next sorry for delay and your patience. Showed up 3.20 hours late. Understood the flood was more important! No complaints on my end...yet Told the technician Logan and Matthew that I needed the clean out snaked. I showed them where it was located. Logan states that I must have another! I said no, this is it. Logan says I have to go under the house. I refused! I have speaker wires and they lay on the ground and the soil is moist from winter rains. Plus no clean out under my house. I explained to the techs that I replaced 40 feet of abs in August. I started at the seer area and exchanged them carefully.! I told them I was using "dishwasher pods" and stopped just a week or so ago and started using cascades liquid. The techs started a snake at my clean out and tried twice saying they used 75 ft of snake. I said you should have a marking on the snake.. or showing 60 ft.. 70 ft.. etc so you know how much you used. I looked at the chamber and there was a few loops still on the chamber and they still had to reach up at the 6 ft level to clean out. Since the snake didn't clear it, Logan stated for 1600$ it would clean it and guarantee for one year. I refused! They got the gear put away, I paid my 59$ for the trip and still had a clogged drain. I went to Lowe's picked up a drain gel heavy duty, followed directions using 8 ounces. Let sit 30 minutes. Turned on the hot water.. an OUTSTANDING cleaned! And ran the water 5 minutes. Cost was 20$ for the drain cleaner Better than 1600$! Zero stars for ROOTER-HERO. Will instagram this also to my friends
Avoid this place at all costs. Dishonest sales practices. You're even better off calling roto rooter, but pick a small local place if you can. We had a sewer backup and Aaron the tech guy came out quickly. He was a friendly guy and seemed honest. He hit a blockage with the snake and said he needed his manager to come out to do the camera. his manager, Chris, showed up in like 5 minutes (oddly fast but ok) and then stuck a camera down the pipe without draining the water out. He showed me blurry images, suddenly hitting black, and said the clog was under my sidewalk and was a collapsed pipe. How could you know that with such poor visibility? He should have sold me on a jetstream to flush and then done the camera work (roto rooter did that). He then, based on this "evidence" quoted me a $30,000 job involving the city to replace the pipe. He also told me the water in the street gutter by my house was sewage and told me I just couldn't smell it (what?). It's just leaves and a little unlevel. He then pressured me to decide tomorrow or else they couldn't fix it that week because of the city not working weekends. It was a Tuesday so idk. I felt odd about the whole thing so I called roto rooter. Roto rooter only got six feet before they hit the blockage; nowhere near the sidewalk. They sold me on a (too expensive) flush. That fixed the issue and yes I do have roots and some offsets but nowhere near the level of a $30,000 pipe replacement. Stay away from these guys. They got me for almost 400 bucks and it could have been worse if it had not had the wherewithal to wait.
