I received excellent service from this company today and Friday upon an HVAC installation issue at my home. The installation was not done by this company, but they were quick to help. They were very transparent about the process, what issues we could be facing, and extremely helpful in helping me to understand the steps and terminology. The gentlemen who responded were Seth, Reid, and Harrison. Highly recommend and will be using this company in the future if needed!!
Mark was very kind and helpful and got my generac generator back up and running. I very much appreciated that he didn't make me feel stupid or inferior for my lack of technical knowledge. He answered all of my questions and also gave some good advice for future maintenance and problems to look out for. I'm feeling much more secure heading into this stormy winter weekend!
Very friendly and explained everything clearly
They refuse to help you if your generator is attached to an RV! Even though they say they offer comprehensive support and service, they absolutely DO NOT. So if you need help with a generator, just make sure it’s not connected to an RV cause these guys will simply say “we can’t help you with that”. Makes no sense. They obviously have too much business to care, or they’re lazy. Either way, you’re probably better off going somewhere else.
I have been a loyal customer of Al Marino for over 10 years. I have had some issues with them in the past but let them go without complaining. I called them out on 12-15-25 because my thermostate was out and my system was blowing cold air. The guy came out and spent maybe 40 minutes here if that and said there was water in something that he drained and it cost me $84.53. He said it was fixed for now and no explanation to why it happened. Not even an hour after he left, it was out again. I called again costing me $267.50 because it was an emergency call they said. The same guy came out and said a line was frozen. By this time my husband was home and said show me. The line was not frozen and shot liquid out. The guy said well you need a pump to which my husband said there is one connected to the system. Which seemed like a surprise to the guy. The guy didn't do anything and then left. I didn't even get a receipt for payment for this visit. So $352.03 down the drain for nothing from Al Marino and my system was still out. So my husband cleaned out a trap after the guy leaves and the system worked for several days. It went out again on 12-20-25. I called Al Marino out again costing me another $267.50 and I told them to send a different guy than the one who came out before. The guy comes out to check the system and says it needs another pump. After he had checked things out and said another pump needed to be installed I asked him if it was safe for me to continue resetting the limit switch to try to get it to work. He acted like he knew something else was wrong with the system other than needing a pump. But he told me that it was fine for me to do that just be careful because of the electricity. I say fine install another pump and he comes back the next day to install a pump we had purchased. Costing me $1066.09. Not 10 minutes after he leaves the system is out again. I called again and the guy comes back looks for a second and says you need a new furnace. By this point I have spent $1685.62 for nothing and call out another company. They knew right away what the problem was and recommended a new furnace. They also informed me that it was unsafe to use the furnace and not to use it by resetting the limit switch. So I recommend you save yourself time, money and a headache by calling another company.
If I could give negative stars than I would!!! I called Al Marino on Friday and the tech came out and was there at about 3:30. I will say that was the only positive feedback that I can give was they responded quickly and than the rest became a nightmare from there. The tech asked where the crawl space was to get under the house. It is under some wooden steps that are only 2 steps high. I showed him and he slung the steps over and they cracked real loud and broke. He never said a word about them cracking nor did I. He had to know. I let it go though. Then he proceeded to tell me that he was almost positive what the problem was and wrote how much that it was going to cost to fix my leak. He also advised that it might not even be the problem and than it would cost more if it wasn’t. He told me that they had financing if I wanted to get approved and 18 months no interest. Still the price was insane!! He advised if they did it over the weekend that it would be 1,000’s upon 1,000’s more. Thank goodness that I didn’t sign that financing because I found Linville Plumbing LLC. They came out on Saturday and fixed everything during emergency hours. Linville Plumbing LLC saved me at least $5,338.10 and maybe even more. Not only did they save me that, when I was paying the one tech from Linville Plumbing the guy told me that the other tech noticed that my stairs was broken and was back there fixing it. I hadn’t even told them about the tech at Al Marino breaking it and not saying anything. Linville Plumbing went that extra mile!!! I’ve always used Al Marino and so did most of my family including my mom from way back. Not anymore!! Linville Plumbing LLC from now on!! I hope this review helps in your decision on Al Marino and their quality of service. If not than remember they do have 18 months no interest financing. For me…. I’m going with Linville Plumbing LLC from now on. *** Update** Jay Marino the owner did call me and was very polite and professional and wanted to make things right and said that he wasn’t going to charge me the $267.00. I do appreciate that he was willing to make a wrong situation into a right one. Thank you, Jay. However, I do hope that you will look into your pricing and realize that it is way to high for the area that your business serves.
My elderly mother called Al Marino to get an estimate on replacing her water lines on a mobile home. The guy showed up and quoted her the absurd price of $6500. He told her that her shut off valve outside was broken and that he could come back the following Monday and replace the valve and that would give her time to consider their estimate. He came back Monday and said he was there to replace her outdoor water valve. Very simple and easy to get to job. Would’ve taken all of 5 or 10 minutes and he told her it would be $900 to change a simple shut off valve and that he had included a $100 discount. I spoke up and told her how ridiculous that price was and that I would just do it myself. Earlier that day another company in the area had stopped by to give her and estimate on a complete waterline replacement and their price was $3098.00 using the exact same type of pipe. Marion’s guy spent a total of 10 minutes at her house and both times he was already driving by. When she refused to pay the $900 to replace the water shut off valve, he handed her a bill for $300. I replaced the shut off valve myself and it cost about $30 bucks and took 45 minutes total and that included a 25 minute trip to Lowe’s. Total extortion!
Al Marino’s charged me $180 to take a paper towel and clean an air filter on my water heater. Took all of 3 minutes. Didn’t test anything or try anything else. Shockingly that didn’t fix the problem, so they had to come back. Still didn’t test anything or fix the problem. I had a check prepared for them for the $79 service fee, assuming that’s all I would be charged. Not the case. The bill was for $267. Marino’s charged me $180 to wipe off the air filter with a paper towel I gave him and the $79 service fee. Kept telling me I needed a new water heater despite my current water heater being 7 years old. I’ve since fixed the issue myself without getting a new heater. Not angry they didn’t fix the problem or try to test anything, I’m angry they had the nerve to charge $260 for what they did. I would have no issue paying the service fee but the fact they had the nerve to charge $180 for the amount of work they did felt dishonest and predatory, so I will make every effort to not use them again or recommend them to anyone. If possible I recommend everyone find a small, private plumber, HVAC specialist and work with them.
I called for a water line leak. The leak was approximately 10ft from the water meter. Upon arrival, the 2 representatives looked at the site I pointed out . One of the reps said that is a straight down dig. They returned to their truck and set there for about 30 minutes. I walked to the truck and the one rep gave me a verbal quote of $3500. I told him that is a ripoff! This would simply be a straight down dig just like the other rep said. For this EXTRAVAGANT ESTIMATE I was charged $200. The rep gave me a document that said service fee. $200. He did not give me a written estimate showing the breakdown of the $3500 he quoted. This company is a ripoff! No true survey of the issue that will surely lead to price gouging! So if you are looking for a plumber, do yourself a favor and keep looking!! Very unprofessional!
made the mistake of trying the company since i see the good reviews on here and fell for it, the low priced call out fee is just a trap for them to come out and charge you 3x more than everyone else local, now 2 days later i’m here with the same issue i had when i called and out over a thousand dollars.. don’t make the same mistake i did Called multiple other companies in surrounding area and found better prices and ended up changing the entire line for less than they wanted to charge for a snake, camera, and call out fee.. owner justified it by saying they hire the best of the best but couldn’t manage to open a drain another local plumber opened in less than 20 minutes they do not care about customers only making money hand over fist with customer service being the last thing they care about
I’m extremely disappointed with this company’s so-called “24/7 care.” That claim is completely misleading. When you actually need assistance outside of regular business hours, you’re met with long wait times, unanswered calls, or no response at all. It feels like the promise of round-the-clock support is just a marketing tactic rather than a real service.Communication is inconsistent, and when someone finally does respond, the help provided is often delayed or unhelpful. For a company that advertises constant availability, this lack of reliability is unacceptable—especially when customers may depend on timely support. If you truly need dependable, around-the-clock care, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere. This company does not deliver on what it promises.
I recently had a great experience with Al Marino Heating and Cooling, and I wanted to share how impressed I was—especially with Mark. From start to finish, Mark was professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely cared about getting everything done right. He took the time to explain the issue clearly, walked me through my options, and made sure I felt comfortable with the solution. It’s not often you find someone who combines skill with that level of customer care. The service was prompt, efficient, and reasonably priced, and the quality of work really shows. Everything has been running perfectly since the visit. If you’re looking for reliable heating and cooling service, I highly recommend Al Marino—and definitely ask for Mark if you can!
I would leave negative stars if I could. Showed up on a Friday to fix a busted water line and a clogged drain. Charged $900 to cap off the line and fix the clog. The clog wasn’t fixable that day so they had to come back. Quoted us $1300 to fix the busted water line and get the kitchen sink working again as well as fixing the clogged drain. Paid a total of $2600. Less than a week later we are having the same drainage backup issue plus additional issues. 1000/10 would never recommend. They will nickel and dime you putting band aids ion the issue versus actually fixing the problem. Also left a wide open hole in my drywall where an access panel was supposed to go, that was also included in the quote.
This company claims 24-7 services and They couldn’t come out to fix my shower after a long day and I’m covered in filth am I just supposed to sleep in dirt they must not know some people get dirty after working and don’t want to sleep filthy am I supposed to take a sink bath like a 2 year old or something What’s even more frustrating is the lack of transparency. Instead of being upfront about their limitations, they continue to promote a level of availability they simply don’t deliver. It creates false expectations and leaves customers scrambling when support is needed most.Overall, I’m extremely disappointed. If consistent, dependable care is important to you, this is not the company to trust.
Terrible service, expensive and no follow through. They charged us over $70.00 to go out to do a consult on the problem and left without fixing anything. The tech was supposed to call us to review the work that was needed and never did. I had to call them 3 days later and now 2 wewks later, I have still have not received a call from them. Needless to say I called someone else who was able to make one trip out, fix the leak me immediately and charge a reasonable fee. Don’t fall for the “consult to assess the problem”,scam, and just call someone else to come out one time and get the job done. This happened to us twice, they will never get a third opportunity.
