Pricing significantly above market: 9 reviewers report quotes 2-7x higher than competitors or industry standards—e.g., $1,960 for heating element replacement (industry standard $200-$300), $8,100 for water line reroute (should be ~$2,000), $500+ for $5 dishwasher pipe, $720 for $50 capacitor replacement, $7,000 for pilot light adjustment (competitor charged $95), $14,000+ for mobile home HVAC package.

Marcus and Danny with Ace home service services. Aka The dream team🫡🫡🫡 These guys came out, gave an estimate, then got the work done same day. Replaced an aging instant hot water heater with a slick new one and were professional with communication throughout the process.
Joe, Brad and Tom were at our house yesterday and installed a new heating/air conditioning unit and also cleaned out our ducts. They worked in a very professional and friendly manner. They cleaned up after themselves and explained how the new thermostat worked. We are very happy with their expertise and getting the job done in a timely matter. They cleaned up after themselves and left everything in order. Thanks again, Don and Doreen Bender
The whole process start to finish was great. I requested information from Home Depot and within 5 minutes I received a call back to schedule a free home estimate. I had a sales rep at my house the next day and they didn’t try and over sell me. They installed everything very quickly and when they ran into problems they stayed with the job. They were friendly, professional and proficient. I would highly recommend ACR home service to anyone.
Ace Home Services North in my opinion is just a wolf in sheep's clothing waiting to pounce on ignorant customers that don't know any better about these type of mechanical and electrical repairs but little did they know I build custom designed automation machines for a living and have an extensive mechanical and electrical background. They tried to take advantage of me but I did my research before just bending over and taking it! I found out what the actual cost should be to replace the upper and lower heating elements in my electric hot water heater and boy was I shocked with their outrageous quote of $1,960.72 to do such a simple repair considering the previous company (Yavapai Plumbing & Heating) did a complete install in 2016 at this address for the previous owner that include the brand new Bradford & White 50gal hot water heater with installation for the cost of $2,034 and they expected me to pay $1,960.72 just to replace the 2 heating elements. While researching I came across this informational guide on the internet "Water Heater Repair Cost Guide: Don't Pay Too Much! (2023)" Resource link: https://www.cartersmyplumber.com/water-heater-repair-cost/ Section 5.1 of the guide (Heating Element) "If you have a problem with your element, it will probably cost between $200 and $300 to fix it. The good news about elements is that they usually only cost $20 or so. Replacing one takes time, which means there is likely to be a higher cost of labor. You may spend up to $300 total. In most cases." Granted the source is located in Greenwood, IN 46142 but that's a huge difference $300 vs $1,960.72 that is unjustifiable and unacceptable in my book. When I questioned the technician and asked for a breakdown of the quote for parts and labor he stated that it was just a flat rate. I found this very peculiar and suspicious for a company that claims to believe in honesty and integrity but not willing to show any transparency in their pricing! I sent him on his way and paid the fee of $79.95 for the service call which I was not pleased about but what choice did I have $79.95 or get taken advantage of and pay the $1960.72 In the end I did the repair myself and purchased 2 compatible replacement heating elements for a Bradford & White hot water heater from Alliance Home Improvement Center for $22.99 each for a total cost of $50.20 for the parts and it took me 20 minutes to drain the hot water heater, 10 minutes to remove both heating elements, 20 minutes to vacuum up the sediment in the bottom of the tank then 10 minutes to install both heating elements for a grand total of 1 hour of labor. Plumbers charge by the hour or by the job, with hourly rates ranging from $45 to $150 or a flat fee of $200 to $250 for small repairs. Resource link: https://homeguide.com/costs/plumber-cost#:~:text=Plumbers%20charge%20by%20the%20hour,%2450%20to%20%2480%20per%20hour. You be the judge and do the math even at 100 percent markup for parts and labor $1,960.72 was completely ridiculous for this repair!!! Where is the honesty, integrity and transparency certainly not at Ace Home Services North in this case? When I tried to contact Ace Home Services North to speak to a manager about this outrageous quote it took 3 calls and over a week before I was called back to discuss the quote. A manger finally called me back and when I asked him to justify this outrageous quote his only justification was "You have no idea how much it cost to run this company" he got very angry and defensive and even threaten to have his legal team sue me if I posted a negative review about the company! Well here it is and it's called freedom of speech and it is my first amendment right and I believe people deserve to know the truth about a company like Ace Home Services North so come and get me!!! I chose Ace Home Services not only because they took over Yavapai Plumbing & Heating but they are also Veteran owned. To have this happen is shocking; I am appalled and just want to let other potential customers know how A.H.S. tried to take advantage of me.
The tech came and spent about 20 minutes and told my elderly mother that she needed a new unit because it couldn't be fixed. Thank goodness she has us because we called another company and the tech was able to fix it. We now have wonderful heat and the tech found why our ac bill was so high. So he helped her that way too. It's unbelievable that an elderly widow would be taken advantage of.
Our AC stopped working about a week ago. My husband called ACE, as they were the first business that popped up in a Google search and it has been between 90°-100°. The tech came a few days later, did a (clearly not thorough) inspection of the unit. He ended up telling us that our compressor was bad, the unit (that we bought brand new and had professionally installed 4 years ago) was "too old and obsolete," and that it was going to cost us an estimated $6,700 to change out our outside coil unit and compressor. Since we don't have a spare $6,700, we contacted another business for a second opinion. That person came out the next day and completely fixed the problem (NOT the compressor, not anything the guy from ACE lied to us about) for $300. ACE wanted to rip us off for literally THOUSANDS of dollars that we don't have. They offered no other options or solutions, and had we not found the company that actually helped us, we would be completely without AC for who knows how long in the AZ summer heat. They still charged us over $200 to come out and LIE to us. When my husband received a message from ACE to OFFER FINANCING on a completely unnecessary service, he told them what happened and how unacceptable their business practices are. The only response was to tell him that they could still offer services in the future. Absolutely unbelievable! Bottom line, if I could give ACE zero stars, I would. They are unethical and clearly out to steal whatever they can from unsuspecting victims. For as many elderly people on fixed incomes and young families just starting out as there are around here, it is disgusting to know that this company would rather let people overheat than to be honest and fo the correct work for a workable amount. I will NEVER recommend ACE, and will be telling everyone I know how badly they tried to rip us off. They should be ashamed of themselves, and I only hope that people see this and know not to trust these liars.

HIRE THIS GUY FOR WORK - he’s gifted in the HVAC field. Derek came in and tackled a serious issue we’ve had for about 6 years with our HVAC system. We had incorrect roof PVC pipe drainage (too long to get to the gutter) and an HVAC unit leaning 1 1/2” the wrong direction which caused water to back up towards the blower motor i.e towards the expensive pieces not away - then rust, corrode, and likely create something flowing thru the air that made me sick/congested from contaminated HVAC condensation. He fixed the problem in a really creative way and didn’t give up until he had the HVAC system exactly balanced to a centered bubble. No one has even tried to tackle this before so we are super grateful that he came up with a simple solution. Now our unit drains condensation correctly with a new, direct path to the gutter. This now prevents mold growth. The guy literally saved our unit from probably dying in a year to living a much longer life. Hire him because he just removed six years of frustration that other technicians had no desire to tackle. The pics are after showing his finished work on PVC pipes. The precious version ran to the far right along the wall then down to the gutter. You’ll appreciate his easy-going personality, kindness, and attentiveness . When you find a good one like Derek, you’ll be a repeat customer who is confident in his work. He didn’t just “do his job”. He cared, fixed the real problem and then sealed it so no rusty water anymore could enter the house. Derek, a big thank you for being a hero to this family. 🇺🇸 Cecelia
I needed a frost-free hose bib replaced in Prescott Valley. Prescott Valley is at 5300 feet and frequently freezes in the winter. I called Ace up and told them I needed the exterior bib replaced. Their technician showed up (he was a nice young man) and when he looked at the hose bib, told me "I was sent from Phoenix, and we don't have these (frost-free bibs) down there.. I don't have one. Well, he said he would have to go locally to get one. I asked how much they were, and he told me Ace would charge me $159 for just the hose bib! A replacement frost-free hose bib costs less than $40 locally-the technician agreed it was much cheaper than his company's price, but his hands were tied.. Ace was also going to charge me $520 to replace the bib. I told the young man that ACE was "gouging" us folks, and told him to charge me for what he had done so far: remove some plaster around the bib. It cost me $159 for this "service call". I later called a local plumber, who came out and replaced the bib for $275.... HALF what Ace was going to charge me. My bad... I will NEVER call Ace again. I may add that Ace Home Services is NOT affiliated with Ace Hardware, and it bought out Yavapai Plumbing and Heating whom I have used successfully in the past. Stay away from Ace Home Services!
Monday I called a plumbing company. ACE HOME SERVICES. They advertise 24 hour response and service. Scheduled that day between 11:00 AM and 5:00 PM. I blow the day waiting for them. No Show. I called at 7:00 PM that night to check the status. A clearly frustrated but very nice lady said ... "... he's stuck on another job." Rescheduled for Wednesday. Wednesday a guy from came by to look at our hot water tank. The pilot light device on our hot water tank was inoperable. He spent a good 45 minutes flat on his belly twisting this, humming and hawing. He brought no tools. He asked me if I had a barbecue lighter. (?!??!!) Failed to get the pilot light switch working. Said he'd have the `office' send me an estimate for what he thought should be done. Got the estimate yesterday: $7,000. An acquaintance owning several local properties suggested I call xxxxx. I called at 8:45 AM and he was here at Noon. Spent no more than 12 minutes making a small adjustment and got the pilot light mechanism fixed. All in perfect operating condition. Service call fee: $95.00. Caveat emptor.
Called ACE after doing some troubleshooting of my own on the Rheem Endeavor heater. My conclusion was a control board in which I looked up pricing to be around $140 - $180. They arrived about 4 hours after making the appointment and stayed in good contact until the technician arrived. Once Ashton performed his testing, he came down and said yes, it is the control board and that will be $1,000. I asked him to please breakdown the pricing showing the $79 service call fee, coast of the board and his labor. He was unable to do so citing he has no control. Ashton then asked me what my expectation of cost was for the repair. I broke down how my expectation of $350 - $500 came to be and he said he could do it for $500 but would not have a 6 month repair guarantee. That would be another $100. With all of that, this is my first and last time doing business with ACE and will caution others to choose more wisely. Have to add on, now he says another part is bad at the tune of $958 and cannot refund me for not fixing the heater, ACE has been excused from my house.
I had a sewer line backing up into the house. They initially estimated $351 to remove the toilet, clean the line, and reset the toilet. He snaked the line twice and pulled out materials both times but said that they couldn’t get past the clog. Then they said $455 to get a camera in to figure out where the clog was to then clear it out and I prepaid the service. I called another local plumber who came and cleared the line on the first attempt (larger and longer snake designed for sewer not small drains like ACE techs used) and he charged me a fraction of the cost. This happened before ACE even scheduled the “leak detection” service I prepaid. ACE didn’t resolve the problem, escalated it without trying appropriate equipment, and didn’t think it necessary to refund me despite the fact that they couldn’t solve the problem. Hard pass for me for any future needs.
After numerous attempts to replace a hot water heater by several technicians and two different tanks, I have absolutely no confidence in Ace. The last visit was 3/2 with two techs, one of whom Keith, is the regional plumbing manager. The last thing needed was a joint/elbow to properly vent the unit and Keith was going to do it himself. I could go on with plenty of details but no one has returned my call or texts for a status. One rep said “oh that’s too bad, call the main number” and every subsequent attempt has been met with a computerized rep or a human who “will get the message to the right person” To date (4/14), there’s been no reply, no acknowledgement and therefore, no vent/exhaust. I don’t believe I’ve been treated as insignificantly by any vendor and I could not give a favorable review rather, specific advice not to use Ace.
On October 5, 2024 a repairman made a service call to our home. My husband signed a credit card authorization in the amount of $479.95 ($79.95 for the service call and a $400 deposit toward a new tank). That same charge slip was presented to the bank with the amount changed to $879.94. We reported the discrepancy, and the Bank rejected/reversed the charge as fraudulent. We have now received a bill (4 months later) for an October 15, 2024 service call. There was NO October 15, 2024 service call, nor was there a second service call at any time. Ace is baffled that the amount of the charge was changed and assures me that they do not "engage in fraudulent business practices." The amount didn't magically change itself! In order to protect ourselves from any additional fraud we have notified local law enforcement.
Hello everyone on July 5 2024 a ACE technician came to my home for a schedule maintenance of 79$ on my air conditioning system that was installed on May of 2024 , 6 years ago by Yavapai plumbing . Then the technician told me that my dual capacitor needed to be change 30$ part,I okayed it then after switching the part ? He made me sign a invoice for 340$ and then few minutes later he made me sign another invoice ?by adding 59$ to it for system testing and inspection that he all ready done with the first invoice , really not happy with all that I feel that I been ripped off by ACE Home Services, never will I use this company ever again this company do not deserve even a 1 star rating.
