Very happy with the services provided provided by Abbott Brothers. I called on a Monday for a failed and leaking water heater, and they showed up promptly Tuesday morning as promised , and the fee was reasonable and exactly what they quoted me over the phone.
Mike and his team are good honest people. We had an issue with our Tankless Water Heater. They came out multiple times to try fixes though they suggested from the statt it would likely need to be replaced. The fixes didnt work and they were kind enough to discount us back some of the service cost since we had them install the new unit. They were the perfect combination of well priced, highly responsive and professional. I would definitely recommend their service as its clear that they are committed to doing right by their clients!
We hired Abbott Brothers to repair and replace our sewer line, and it was a challenging job due to working around our deck, flagstone walkway, and landscaping. The crew was extremely thoughtful about minimizing impact and preserving as much as possible. The work was completed quickly, with impressive knowledge and problem-solving along the way. Everyone was professional and communicated clearly throughout the process. Mike in particular was fantastic—very helpful, flexible, and a great communicator who gave us real confidence in both the plan and the execution. We were impressed with the quality of the work and the professionalism of the entire team and would highly recommend Abbott Brothers for any plumbing project.
This review isn't for Abbott Brothers' plumbing services, because I wasn't able to actually get a plumber to my house. I made an online appointment for Friday and immediately got a confirmation that someone would come look at a possible sewer gas leak from 12-2 PM. I waited until 3 PM before calling the company because no one arrived or contacted me. The office didn't provide me with a reason as to why no one showed up or why I wasn't contacted. Instead, they said someone would be in contact with me shortly. I received a text a few hours later asking if Sunday between 9-11 AM worked. I agreed. Unfortunately, 11 AM passed and the same thing happened -- no one showed up or called. Not sure what happened, but 2 no show/no calls is highly unprofessional. If you know you're not coming, have the decency to call so people can make other plans or use another business. Obviously, after two chances, I won't be using Abbott Brothers again.
If I could give negative stars, I would. My neighbors hired this company for a sewer line replacement, which became my problem. In the process of the sewer line replacement, which took over a week, my main water service line was damaged, causing flooding into my basement. The misogynist foreman "fixed" the problem. Fast forward several months later, one big rain caused water to POUR into my basement through the "fixed" service line. They sent the misogynist foreman, whom I asked to never step foot on my property, to come resolve the issue, who also smelled like a brewery on the morning of the repair. The damage caused a complete remodel of my basement. I have now had two more instances of groundwater intrusion requiring hours of my time to wet vac and subsequent repair. I have lived in my house for over 10 years and have NEVER had instances such as this. The work and professionalism are definitely subpar and I implore people to take a pause before using this company.
I found Abbott brothers on the Thumtack app. I requested 3-4 contractors and they were the first to respond. Like seconds after I sent my request. Almost creepy quick. lol. They stated they charged for estimates ($30) but it did not matter because my Mom wanted the shower leak to stop. However I was told they would wave the fee if I selected them for the job. They sent out an estimator the next day… name was Mike. My names is Myke, my dad Mike soooo already in the club. Cool professional guy, estimate was roughly $20 north of the actual… that’s pretty good I’d say. Though I was out of town at the time the work was performed my parents reported back that their work was exceptional…. and that’s not an easy mark to hit with my parents. My mother told me she asked if they had boot covers the “young fellas” (Dalton is his name… I don’t know the other “young fellas” name…) my mothers words btw… she said they did not have boot covers but happily took off there boots and worked in socks “ as if they lived here”. With no hesitation… she loved them guys. The fact she didn’t complain about a mess being left behind nor there was no mention of any ill performance says a lot about the company and the people you employ. Work done with care and precession…. (I hope the young fellas are working towards their journeyman credentials) Well done Abbott brothers!! Highly recommended!! I can't comment on price as I didn’t get a second estimate, however my parents response was gold and that’s worth any amount of $. Because if you were some $hyt I would not have heard there end of it. Thank you!!!!!!!🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾
Dalton came today to install a new toilet in my unit, and I couldn’t be more impressed. From start to finish, he was incredibly friendly, professional, and thorough. He took great care in ensuring everything was installed correctly—double and triple-checking for any leaks, and explained the work patiently and clearly. My building is quite old, and the job came with some unexpected challenges. The existing hose didn’t fit, and despite checking his truck and even making a trip to a nearby store, he couldn’t find a compatible part. In the end, he had to replace the valve —a task I thought would cost extra—but he stuck to the original quoted price without hesitation. That honesty and integrity really stood out. To make matters more difficult, the building’s loading dock was out of service, meaning Dalton had to make long trips back and forth to his truck, including hauling away the heavy old one-piece toilet. Despite the inconvenience, he never once complained, always had a smile on his face, and treated the job with care and professionalism. The price was very reasonable, scheduling was easy, and the overall experience was excellent. I’ll definitely recommend Abbott Brothers to my friends and neighbors—and Dalton will be my go-to for any future plumbing needs!
Mike was very detailed with his proposal to restore water volume and water pressure to my mother's 1939 home. Well worth the $129 house call fee to identify the cause and receive a detailed cost proposal for the repair. Mike took the time to check all water sources in the home and run tests. He was also very accommodating when I asked for more detail regarding the proposed work. The work was scheduled quickly and within 2 days Abbott Brothers Plumbing was out to complete replacing the main water lines (galvanized replaced with PEX) that were running from our outside water meter up to the house. The galvanized pipe had become ineffective over the 85+ years and was determined to be the main culprit for our loss of water volume in the entire home. As part of the original proposal, additional galvanized piping running to an upper bathroom was also replaced with PEX as it was severely choking off the water volume to the upper bathtub. Mike had determined that replacing these particular indoor pipes would restore maximum water pressure to that upper bathroom. The entire job was completed within one day and the water pressure in the home is excellent. I would definitely recommend Abbott Brothers Plumbing for your plumbing needs.
This is the worst experience I've ever had with a plumbing company. They were installing a waterline on a neighbor's land, but they dug up deep trenches on my property. It wasn't obvious where the property lines were, but they didn't check. I had just installed a planting of trees and gardens and they ruined them, not even seeing the small plants I had installed for over $400. When the owner came to look at the work, he promised me he would pay me back for the gardens he ruined. I called him at least seven or eight times and he promised me each time that the check was in the mail. The check was never in the mail. Now four months later, he still has not reimbursed me for the damage he did to my property. And his manager, who was on the site when the digging was going on, was nasty. I told him that I had new gardens there, and he totally ignored my claim, saying that the area was a public utility right-of-way. It was not, it was my private property. They had no right or Call to be digging there. I can't bring him to court for $400. I just don't have the time and resources. But I would have a case if I decided to do that. I would rate the company zero stars if I could.
Don't use this company. I had them come in to fix a leaky stop valve on a kitchen sink months ago. The guy came out, and replaced the valve, but didn't fix the leak. I told them again that the leak wasn't fixed and they were no help (this is a new house btw). I lived with the leak for months. Then decided to go online and make an appointment to finally get it resolved. They had someone scheduled to come out, but 30 mins afetr their scheduled appointment window (12-2), I called to see where they were. She said that they'd come between 12-4 and the guy was tied up. But someone would call if the technician couldn't show up. Well, I never got a phone call, and they never showed up. I wasted my entire day waiting for a plumber. I'll never use them again. The owner sent me a text and voicemail two days later, but by then it was too late. The fact that I was calling them to fix a problem I paid $300 for them to fix the first time was already a red flag. Please just find another plumber.
I recently returned home from vacation to discover that my NORITZ tankless water heater had stopped working. I contacted Abbott Brothers Plumbing & Heating of MD, and from the very first call, the experience was outstanding. The office manager was friendly, responsive, and quickly scheduled an appointment for me with Michael S. Michael arrived promptly, quickly diagnosed the issue, and explained everything clearly. The problem turned out to be a faulty igniter, along with a need for descaling and general maintenance. He provided upfront pricing with no surprises. What really stood out was the consistent communication throughout the entire process. I received photo updates and status texts while the work was being done, which was both professional and reassuring. In less than two hours, everything was fully repaired and functioning perfectly. Highly recommend Abbott Brothers for their speed, honesty, professionalism, and top-notch service!
We were very pleased by contacting the Abbott Brothers Plumbing & Heating company to replace our sewer line. Micheal Sopper is a very friendly and respectful gentleman. He has an excellent team to do various jobs. Michael tried snaking in the sewer line few times but he found that it was beyond repair. He inserted a video camera and found root infiltration, clogging and some damage to the terracotta sewage pipe. He clearly explained the situation and provided his best recommendations. We are glad that we agreed him to replace the sewage line. This company properly completed everything in the contract plus his team kindly helped to plant a flower plant to another location that was removed during the excavation. This company offered us a great price compared to what my neighbor and family paid with the named companies to replace their sewer lines. We will recommend this company.
Two main shut off valves were leaking at the same time. The lower valve was secured on an elbow in the cement wall that was part of the main water supply from outside. The second valve was located approximately 3 feet above the first valve. Although an access panel allowed Mr. KcKithen (i.e., plumber) room to work, he had very little space to maneuver his hands and tools. However, he was able to replace the old valves and several pieces of copper piping with the new materials and did an excellent job with the installation. Additionally, the finished product looked exceptional. He answered my questions in laymen’s terms and is a true professional. Abbots staff kept me posted as well regarding the appointments and other updates as needed.
This company came out promptly to collect their dispatch fee of $69. They informed me that there was no leak in the plumbing system. However, after checking with the tenant there was a leak in the bathroom sink. I was told there was no leak but the tenant continued to complain about a leak in the bathroom sink. When I called them back to get them to come back out. They told me that they would and gave me a time window but did not show up. I called them on Monday and they again said they would call me back but did not. When I called to follow-up they would not answer the phone and even answered and hung up the phone. What kind of business is this?? A ghetto, unprofessional and cheesy business!!
USE THESE GUYS! It was raining in my basement and I had a packed weekend of events, including my little one’s birthday party. 1. A real human answered the phone immediately. 2. They were completely flexible with my crazy schedule. 3. They came over and handled business! Mike and Tim were legit the heroes of the weekend. They were extremely accommodating, offered very reasonable prices (that was paid online), and delivered fantastic, high-quality work, even during an emergency appointment on a Saturday. It’s rare to find a family-owned business that is this reliable, honest, and easy to work with. Abbott will be my first call for any plumbing needs that come up (crossing my fingers I won’t need to call).
