People including myself often forget to take the time to commend a company for getting it right. Jimmy & Jared were fast/efficient, knowledgeable, and kind. I look forward to working with your company on additional future projects.
They did excellent job. They are reasonable and did great job.
The best easy service out there!
Had an emergency call set up and after the job was rescheduled, we recieved a call stating they were not coming. Thank you for getting our hopes up then letting us down.
Never doing business with them
Crashed truck on property and refused to pay damages! Beware! this company also goes under the name "Ability Septic"! You all should post your experiences on that page as well! We had Used Ability septic/A&P Grease-trappers for our septic servicing every since we moved to West Chicago, off sewer, in 2015 so when we had an urgent issue with our septic backing up in January 2018, we called Ability who came and partially fixed it (no problems so far they just needed to come back to replace an ejector pump). On their way out their truck crashed into a large ornamental fixture on the side of our driveway ($2000 worth of damage). They didn't stop to check the damage or tell us or anything they just drove right on out. We called them and the driver (Justin, the son of the company owner) claimed to have not noticed that he hit it (a little hard to believe but plausible as it was dark out). He said in any case he would see what he could do to fix the problem. He didn't do anything. After not hearing from them for a while we called the office to see if they were still working on it and they (Nicole, the wife of the owner) denied knowing anything about the issue, claimed that we never talked to them about it and were just trying to get them to pay for something that someone else did. She did say however that if we produced evidence, they would file it with their insurance and have someone take care of it. I sent photos of the damage which included their big douly truck tire tracks in the snow inches from the damage (so detailed that you could see the tread pattern) which were time stamped immediately after the incident, the text message thread with the driver immediately after the incident (which included those photos), the call logs which showed several calls to and from their office and the driver immediately after the incident. The above is a summary of almost 4 months of back and forth. Ability's final response after all that (Paraphrased): "Go file a police report we are not doing anything" I cannot describe how infuriating this whole process has been, not because they caused the damage in the first place (Mistakes happen to everyone), or because they were rude on the phone during the process (Let's be honest I was probably pretty rude myself), or even because of the time and money cost of getting this taken care of ourselves (we happen to be pretty well off financially and fixing this incident doesn't strain our budget too much), but what is infuriating is finding out that a local family business, that I would have assumed has good intentions and put a premium on their reputation in the community, would totally sell out a customer whenever they make a mistake that would be as cheap to fix as an insurance deductible and a few man ours of oversight. Clearly they value a quick buck today over treating the customers right over the long run and I hope that the next time they mess up like this isn't not a family with a tight budget and no means to overcome.
Job was estimated, signed the contract, scheduled the work to be done, reconfirmed the date again, took the day off, and thanks to A&P Grease Trappers (a.k.a. Ability Septic and many other names) they were a BIG FAT NO SHOW.... While the office workers are pleasant enough, I can only imagine the amount of work this company is losing due to the unorganized chaotic way they run the office. The initial reason they provided was gee we don't have you scheduled (even though reconfirmed) to "oh yeah" I remember talking to you, to "I left you a message" stating we had to get the items needed for the repair to "Hey we will give you $$ off".... They totally miss the point... day late and a dollar short.. A&P's Lesson Learned: Do what you say you're going to do and be prepared - DONT inconvenience your customers by having them take the day off for a "ghost" appointment, after all they do need to make the money to PAY for your services. Follow the 7 P's - Proper prior planning prevents piss poor performance! My Lesson Learned: Pay attention to the past reviews, they do have merit,
If I could give minus 100 star I would. This is the worst , most unprofessional company I have ever dealt with in my entire life. We had the owner come out months ago and give us a quote...,and since than dealing with his " receptionist" has been a NIGHTMARE . Getting in contact with her is impossible, once you do get a hold of them they say they'll call you back in a few days, which never happens, they've been leading Ys on for months. The receptionist is extremely rude and acts as if she's doing us a favor... We're paying lots of money to you and this is how we are treated ? Long story short after months and months of being strung along and just trying to proceed with the project we spoke to somebody a few days And she said yes we will have somebody out next week , someone will contact you in a day with details. My husband calls today after not hearing back ( of course ) and now she tells us they are really backed up and don't have time ! Please don't waste your time or money with such unprofessional , unorganized , RUDE people who have no clue what they're doing .
We trust A&P for repairs and sewer maintenance. Today, Will came out on an emergency call just in the nick of time: we have a sump pump for a multi-unit townhome running 24/7. As he arrived, we discovered the culprit: Next unit filled with water. Owners live off site, pipes froze. 1 foot in basement. City, fire, & police came to shut off water. My sump pump was working to clear a swimming pool! Stabilized now, neighbor’s house is condemned, ceilings collapsed. Will communicated clearly, easing our mind and gave us a game plan for going forward. This is important when dealing with an HOA responsible for part of the cost. He also advised first responders who arrived when he did, clarifying the situation for official reports. Will is top-notch. We will be having A&P out for important updates to our system recommended by Will once the HOA gives us clearance. Keep an eye on your maintenance: it’s important and will save you in the long run. Thanks Will and A&P!
Agreed! I was told the receptionist is the owners fiance. The owner is great. Had another crew out to pump my tank, they were great! Then needed to get some big service done. Owner came out fast for an estimate. Few days later emailed back receptionist with questions and the approval. She lost the email. I had to call her, she then magically found it. I kept trying sign a contract. She kept saying they'd call me back. I kept calling every 2 weeks to follow up. Receptionist never would call me back and was rude when I called. I did the leg work myself to start the project. Soil tests, survey and such. I only held out because the owner seemed professional but he's guarded by an rude incompetent buffoon! 3 months I waited while she strung me along. Then she tried to redirect me to their "sister company". I was furious! She was so rude. Now I have to find a new septic company in dupage! When they fire Nicole this company might have a chance!!
After rescheduling 6 times due to the office staff telling me that rain was in the forecast, we finally agreed on a date (today). The initial crew was supposed to come out at 7am. That was changed to 9am, then 12pm, then 2pm. A digging machine was dropped off about 2:30 with no manpower to the job. They would be coming later. I finally was contacted by Patrick (the owner) about 4pm who said he was on the way. After telling him I was unhappy with the 8 hour delay, he got extremely rude on the phone and told me that their were plenty of companies out there. He also said I could call Selsors. He said that a crew would be out to pick up the digging machine and hung up on me. This company has been pumping out my tank since I moved into the house 9 years ago. Then they were Jackson & Sons. Somewhere in there, this guy must have bought them out. With service like this, I am surprised that he is still in business.
I use them for a commercial restaurant grease trap and for my used cooking oil. They out out every 4 months and perform an excellent job. Each tech that has been out has provided a friendly and attentive service. There consistent and timely service lead me to introduce them to the 70 unit condo building that I live in. There first visit there was an emergency call for a clogged main which they hydro jetted. Since that visit I had them come out an hydro jet all the main lines and repair a broken baffle in our triple basin. They should be the gold standard in this business.
We have been using A&P at our business for a while now. We had an issue the other day where they noticed a rock blocking our sewer lines which was causing all of the sewers to back up. To get this rock out required digging up our receiving area and replacing the sewer line which would have cost more than $10,000. They sent out a crew the same day and their employees were persistent and able to dislodge this huge rock to fix the issue and save us a ton of money! We are so grateful to be working with them and we will not be using anyone else but A&P for our business!
I read the bad reviews but still went with them as they were the only ones who could come out for a same day septic pump (on 1/2/17). Office staff was friendly and said there would be an emergency fee--which I expected. Truck showed up in Glenview in a few hours--not bad for same day and being fairly far from West Chicago. Staff was fast, efficient and friendly. They might be under new management since the bad reviews. That was impression I got talking with the guys. I had no issues--they pumped out the tank and everything went smooth.
I have had great experience with this business from start to finish. They were efficient, knowledgeable, and clearly take pride in the work they do. Everything was handled smoothly and professionally, and I always felt like I was in good hands. It’s refreshing to deal with people who know what they’re doing and genuinely care about delivering great service. I’m very happy with the results and wouldn’t hesitate to use them again or recommend them to others!
