Everything was more than I expected. Everything was explained step by step. The situation was assessed and explained to me thoroughly and in a way I could understand. The tech was obviously very experienced and professional. The job was done quickly. I was impressed also that they not only took the old water heater, but all the other packing materials and trash. If I could give a higher rating, I would happily do so
Marc Rios provided excellent customer service by troubleshooting the issue and fixing it in an expedient manner. His professionalism, knowledge, and ability to articulate the issue, how to fix the issue, and explain preventative measures were invaluable! He definitely went above and beyond and even shared information about the city of San Antonio to make my living experience better. I am grateful for the encounter.
All I can say is professional, caring, knowledgeable, polite, and patience. All questions I had were answered. The job was done carefully and definitely in a timely manner. I truly appreciated these two gentlemen. Thank you so much A&M Plumbing for such great support, and people who truly care about the customers needs. ❤️
Awful! Would not recommend. I used them for a simple leak on my water heater. Was forced to pay $75 co-pay just for them to come out. Then once looking at the unit, was trying to force me to pay another $850+ for items I didn't need for the leak. Was told they "had" to in order to fix the leak. After they left, I was able to see where the leak was coming from and fixed it with a simple C-wrench. Granted, I probably should of started with that before calling, but if you want to take the chance of paying these people to come and not fix your problem, go right ahead. Rating 0
I was assigned this company by American Home Shield. The work was done quickly and efficiently. The main plumber strangely ignored the questions I was asking him. Once the job was done (only took a few minutes), he started talking, ugh, politics. He brought up how he though Covid-19 was "fear tactics" and he couldn't wait until he didn't have to wear masks anymore. All the while he was wearing his own mask improperly, with his nose hanging out of it, in my kitchen. I feel like his attitude was in direct retaliation to a political sign I have in my front yard (it's election season after all). How hard is it to be a professional while you're at work? I feel bad for the younger guy working with him. I never leave bad reviews on anything. I give people the benefit of the doubt. This interaction just came off cringey, super unprofessional, and a little teeny bit hostile, and I don't think I'll use this company again.
These guys are total crooks. If you value your time, money and plumbing system, stay far far away and do not engage with them. My mother hired these guys to connect my dishwasher to the water line under the kitchen sink. The price was outrageous (50% more than the last company that came here) but timing was an issue and I thought we were paying extra for a expected baseline of skilled labor. Sometimes it's worth it to pay a little extra for convenience and dependability. However, the quality of work was so terrible and so lacking in the basic fundamentals of understanding how water moves through pipes that I can't comprehend how they retain their plumbing licensees let alone clients. Not only did my dishwater fail to install correctly, they rendered it inoperable meaning I'm out 2k for the pleasure of spending days upon days fixing their entry level mistakes. A certified master plumber should be familiar with city plumbing codes, but not these master plumbers (that or they willfully play ignorant to get out of actually working for their fee). San Antonio plumbing codes require dishwashers to have specific air gaps or high-loop drain connections to prevent sewage backflow. Not only did they not install an air gap or high loop, they tried to claim my dishwasher was old and dirty and even attempted to show me by aggressively cleaning my filter to the point that it cracked the filter unit. Then they claimed I had electric problems and that the dishwasher was defective. Funny thing is that it worked as well the day before the plumbers as it did the first week after purchasing it AND it was the same electricity and filter they said was broken (I keep my filter clean bc I don't like how my dishes smell when its dirty and I won't eat off them). It was a high quality appliance that was well maintained. They couldn't be bothered to read the manual which clearly stated that if you don't do your job as a plumber and install an air gap, then your dishwasher will be permanently full of smelly sewage water so effectively, I overpaid these guys to not install my dishwasher, but to break it. They did have plenty of time to call multiple appliance repair techs in front me, take pictures of their handy work (which clearly has no air gap or high loop) to "prove" they did what I hired them to do. And they claim they stayed for two full cycles after installation which is also a blatant lie because that would have taken 3 hours and they left minutes after the job. So I'm out almost a thousand dollars to upgrade my dishwasher to rinse with sewage waste. Yum! I tried to email them and call them to point out the code violation and that I wanted my money back because they effectively broke my dishwasher and that doesn't even cover the cost of replacement. And that I never allow the same guy to come back and 'repair' what he was clearly not competent enough to do during the multiple days off I had to take off work only to watch him fail again and again. The company did not acknowledge my email or offer to do anything at all to make it right. Total crooks and fraudsters these guys are. He either intentionally over charged for a job he know wasn't done according to code or he just isn't adequately qualified in basic plumbing concepts related to drainage. Either way, the only recommendation I can give to any potential customers is to stay far, far, far away at all costs. I left another review from my personal account before I found the root cause of the issue and you can see how they responded with lies and false accusations. And if the lack of decency wasn't enough it's the ignorance of entry level plumbing knowledge that is the strongest take away I get reading their response. Wouldn't you rather spend your money on something that adds value to your life instead of paying someone to come over and break your appliances? Do you really want to take multiple days off work because they don't know what they are doing? STAY AWAY! KEEP YOUR PIPES SAFE! 0 out of 10, DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!

Beware! A & M Plumbing was sent to my home by my home warranty company to look at our hot water heater that was leaking. The two guys that were sent out were pleasant but after looking at the hot water heater and diagnosing the problem the lead plumber gave me a long list of everything that he claimed needed to be done to get the heater replaced at a total price that was in excess of $2000 prior to my home warranty paying their portion of the bill. I asked the lead plumber about a price list and where he was getting the prices for all of the charges and his response was "there is no price list, I replace hot water heaters so often that I "just know" how much everything cost". Even after my home warranty had deducted their portion of the bill the out of pocket cost was still in excess of $1700! I did not feel comfortable with that price and after speaking with the home warranty company decided to ask for a second second company to stop by. Thank goodness I did! The second plumbing company came by a few days later and after the home warranty company had paid for their portion of the bill the remaining total out of pocket for me was $440. I would not of written this review if the out of pocket costs were close even a ($200 - $400) difference would of been reasonable but the out of pocket cost that A&M Plumbing wanted to charge me was literally four times higher than the plumber that replaced my water heater. I just wonder how many people this company has taken advantage of? Sad and should be a crime. If you value your hard earned money do not use A&M Plumbing. You will be paying exorbitant prices for work that you can get taken care of for literally a fraction of the cost. Run! Better yet just don't call them. And if your home warranty company tells you that they are sending A&M Plumbing out to take a look at your plumbing, DEMAND a different company. Buyer Beware!
These guys broke my dishwasher upon installation and rather than resolve the issue, they want to make up excuses and point fingers. They claimed my dishwasher was "old" and insinuated it had problems before. 2-3 years is not old and it worked like new before they touched it (I used it 2x times a week at most so it was in excellent condition). They claimed there was an issue with electricity I didnt communicate with them. Inaccurate- these guys knew everything and even got a tour of my whole house and all the projects going on. Nothing was wrong with the electricity when they visited, but they were aware it had been worked on. Also, said electricity was perfectly fine to run the dishwasher multiple times before they touched the dishwasher. They can make whatever claims they want about the electricity, but I'm going to listen to the liscened electrician who came about that and not a plumber with a light up toy they bought at home depot (which they could have used before doing any work but they didnt). At the end of the day, the dishwasher worked very well before they touched it. After their work, the dishwasher never once was able to successfully run a full wash. They stayed for half a wash, but the issue was at the end of the cycle. It doesnt take a rocket scientist to deduce that A&M plumbing broke my dishwasher and charged me an obscene amount of money to do that. The right thing for them to do would be to get an appliance tech to fix what they broke which would cost them less than 10% of the fee they charged. But these are not people who do the right thing. So if you want to risk being overcharged and having your stuff broken with zero remedy to resolve, then by all means use these scam artists.
My mother wanted to buy me a gift and hired these guys to connect my portable dishwasher to the water line in my kitchen. The cost was almost $700. The dishwasher worked perfectly fine the day before installation (and every day since I bought it new). The dishwasher did not work the first wash cycle after installation (it won't drain). The work was supposed to be under warranty. They came back and could not fix the problem. I was told I would have to hire an appliance tech and an electrician to diagnose the issue. An electrician had a look and there was no problem. And after spending almost a thousand dollars, I don't have funds to pay for an appliance tech. But I also shouldn't have to given the machine broke in the process of installation- everything was fine before A&M Plumbing got involved. So now for the low low price of over one thousand dollars (installation of $700 plus how much it cost to buy the dishwasher new), I no longer have a functional dishwasher and no solution in sight. Bonus: I get to deal with a few inches of filthy water after every attempt to run the dishwasher. And I lost two days of work to lose the functionality of my dishwasher. So much for having a vacation this year because these guys took that time away from me. I feel bamboozled and like I set my mother up to get robbed. I cannot believe I thought this was a professional and quality company- I was terribly wrong.
Romero was very professional. The other guy I think his name was Gibby was very unprofessional once he seen the water in the yard. His first remark was you just need to pay for it out-of-pocket and get it over with. And I looked at him and said that’s why we have insurance. And this is what you want working for you. Shame on you, A&M plumbing I did get ugly with Romero. I took it out on him the frustration, but I did apologize to him, but as far as Gabby totally unprofessional, and then went and sat in the van and never came back, but I do know after Romero went out there. He probably told him that I was mad and said what I said, which I will say it over and over again. An end to pay $245 for them to cut out the back of my kitchen sink wall to find nothing. And then to turn around and tell me it’s gonna be almost 14 or $1500 to dig out back and fix the leak is absolutely ridiculous. Shame on you for trying to rob a customer when they’re already having problems I can tell you right now what you pay for these guys you’re over pain especially for Gibby. I made the comment. My dog was on CBD and giving made the comment share share. Whether joking or not that comment should’ve never came out of his mouth. I’m gonna tell you like I told both of them I’m not that one
A&M Plumbing was sent to me by my home warranty company, American Home Shield. My boyfriend was there at the time of the repair. They came and diagnosed the problem(s). One issue was that the sewer pipe was clogged, which they unclogged and I appreciate. That was covered by AHS. For the other two issues that were not covered by AHS, they quoted me $1800 (an issue that could wait to be fixed) and $2140 (an issue that needed fixing now). I thought the $2140 quote didn't seem right at ALL, after seeing photos of the issue myself (a disconnected pipe under the house used for the washing machine ). I called my close family friend who flips and sells houses, and he said their estimate was astronomically high. He gave me the number of the plumber he trusts and has used regularly for years. That guy came out the next day, quoted me $220, and promptly fixed the problem. He sent me videos the entire time, and was highly communicative and transparent with pricing. I have no doubt A&M does great work and really knows what they're doing, but I felt completely violated and my trust was totally broken when they attempted to overcharge me by so much. Unless you have money to burn, look elsewhere for your plumbing needs.
we were referred to this company through American home shield. They refused to actually diagnose anything and had a secretive conversation off to the side with American home shield where they came back all of a sudden and said none of the issues would be covered by American home shield because our toilet flange not being properly positioned is a flooring problem not a plumbing problem. they actually told me I would need to contact the flooring specialist to adjust the toilet flange to bring it level. You need to be a licensed plumber to do that. Then they tried to stick us with a $3000 repair estimate which, when I requested estimates from other companies, I've been coming back with around 500 or $600 total. they also had my wife sign the statement of work before they filled it out and lied to her and told her it was simply state. They had come out to check everything and they left the house and the condition they came out at. Once they left, they then filled out the form and submitted it to American home shield. I'd be very cautious before proceeding to business with this company. There are more reputable honest plumbers
A&M was contracted to replace my water heater through my home warranty company, American Home Shield. They replaced the water heater and was paid by American Home Shield. They charged me an additional $660 to bring the new water heater up to code which is not covered by AHS. The old water heater was up to current codes. The breakdown was as follows: $275 freshwater Mods. This was to run PVC 2 feet from the wall outlet up the outside of the water heater to connect the two. $95 new water pan. $125 T&P. $40 vacuum relief. They said they could not use the expansion tank off the old water heater so they had to install their own. $125 electrical mod. This charge was to remove the AC cord off the old water heater and put in on the new water heater. I think A&M took advantage of their relationship with AHS and overcharged for me for their services knowing I couldn't stop in the middle of the installation and get another vendor.
I just wanted to put a post out here stating my satisfaction and experience with A&m plumbing. Romeo and Angel were fantastic. Romeo is very personable, calm and was able to answer each and any question I had. He never once gave the appearance that he was irritated at all the questions and I did have a lot of questions. I will say though he was very professional and responded exactly as I had hoped he would. Angel was also personable and when I asked for certain things to be identified for me, he was quite capable of providing the information or if not ensuring that the information was given to me. Expectations were more than capably met. I believe that Romeo is destined for a higher position and should be considered for special consideration. If there are any kind of bonuses or things that can be provided to him.
