Amazing company, amazing service. I had an emergency plumbing issue, a sewage stoppage, so I contacted 5 Star due to the great reviews. Amir came out the next morning and cleared everything for me. He explained everything he needed to do and was so friendly and professional about it. He cleared the problem, which I thought would take all day but he was done in hours. The pricing was very reasonable for the problem I had. They are now my go to plumbers. Thank you 5 Star!!
Amir from 5 Star Plumbing was excellent. Pricing was very reasonable, and scheduling was easy. We booked Wednesday night for 4:30pm the next day, and he was able to show up early at 11am. He coordinated seamlessly with my contractor, removed the old water heater in the late morning, and returned late afternoon to install a Bradford White unit with a thermal expansion tank after drywall was finished. My contractor said Amir was friendly and got along with everyone. Professional, efficient, and easy to work with. Highly recommend Amir and 5 Star Plumbing. First pic is old water heater. Second pic is new water heater.
Same-day call and service within 4 Hours window. The newly installed gas water heater working great. Dave is a very experienced technician, high quality workmanship. I highly recommend 5 Star Plumbing to my neighbors.
The require a "visit fee" of $150 just to get a quote. There are too many good options to deal with that. Pass.
They want to charge 149$ JUST to come over and give you what other businesses provide as a FREE estimate. NOT hiring them for sure !
after writing this review they called me twice, and emailed me 3 times asking me about it. in one of their emails they offered me a full refund of the $1000 water heater removal if i took down or CHANGED my review to FIVE STARS. when i ignored all of this, they then SHOWED UP TO MY HOME to try and talk to me about it. was NOT what i wanted to come home from work to, i am only further convinced this business is super shady and i wouldn't trust any of the five star reviews here. edit because yes, i was very emotional when i wrote this update! let's lay out some more facts. when Eze removed my water heater and called his office, he told me his office checked "every supplier in sacramento" and they could not find a 48in water heater. he then told me that they could continue to search for one and that i'd get a call back on monday. however when i went to another sacramento plumbing company they had no delay with their supplier and bought my water heater the same day it was installed. knowing this information 5star plumbing at best has poor suppliers, and at worst tries to take advantage of customers who have no plumbing knowledge. i had an emergency in my home, and i had to call 5star plumbing myself after having been promised a call back. when i called them myself i got absolutely no new information about my situation, and no apology for the lack of communication or wait. they proceeded to fail to call back yet again despite making this same mistake already. this poor, disorganized customer service is why i felt finding another plumber was necessary, which was a hard decision to make after already giving this company $1000. i did not get an apology, or any kind of contact until after i made my experience public. i was ignored before i posted my review. this is a fact. i was not offered a refund out of good faith, i was offered a refund in exchange for taking down or changing my review. this is a fact (screenshots included). this also breaks yelp's policy, and because it is against policy i consider it shady work. it did not make me feel taken care of or appreciated, it showed me that this company cares more about it's reputation than the actual experience that their customers have. this is not a fact, this is the impression their actions made on me which i feel is important to mention only due to their response. a bad review is not an invitation to my home. this is a fact. showing up unannounced to my home, ringing my doorbell repeatedly(as reported by roommates), and confronting me about my review in person when i have absolutely no need for your service is inappropriate at best, and borderline harassment at worst. please understand that 5star plumbing was never invited to my home after their service, and a bad review is not an open line of communication. i will be reporting this company to yelp and google for breaking their review policies, and i recommend avoiding them at all costs after my experience.
I originally contacted this company to repair a running toilet and to get estimates on replacing some bathroom fixtures. During the visit, I was shown options for replacing sink fixtures and a bathtub fixture. I declined the bathtub work because it sounded like a much larger project than I wanted to take on. I had not initially planned on moving forward with the sink work either, but I was encouraged to do so. Unfortunately, the experience became increasingly frustrating and uncomfortable. The pricing was never clearly explained, and the numbers seemed to change throughout the appointment. At different points, I was given different totals, which made it difficult to understand exactly what I was being charged for and what work was included. The biggest issue is that I was left with one bathroom sink completely unusable. After I was told one of the new fixtures would not match the other sink, I asked that the original parts simply be reinstalled so both sinks would remain functional until I could obtain the correct matching fixture. That request was declined. The technician left with the original sink parts, leaving me unable to reassemble the sink myself. When I explained that I only had the check my husband had left for me and asked for a specific date when the work would be completed before agreeing to additional charges, I was not given a firm appointment. Instead, I was told that he was very busy and that it would be “maybe Tuesday or Wednesday” the following week. What I found especially frustrating was that the company had been able to schedule my original appointment the same day I called. Yet after leaving my sink unusable and removing the original parts, I was told there was no definite return date. As a customer, I would have expected an unfinished job that left a bathroom fixture out of service to receive prompt follow-up. At the same time, I was told the price for returning to complete the work would be substantially higher. I was left trying to understand why I was being asked to pay additional money while still having an unusable sink, no original parts, and no definite completion date. What concerns me most is that I called a plumber to fix a running toilet, and by the time the appointment was over, I had one less working sink than I started with. I believe customers deserve clear pricing, clear communication, and a completed job. My experience was the opposite. I was left with an unfinished project, missing parts, uncertainty about the final cost, and a bathroom sink that could not be used. I strongly recommend, if you hire this company. Getting every quote, every change in pricing, every return-visit charge, and every scope-of-work detail in writing before authorizing any work.
We unfortunately needed a plumber since our downstairs toilet was clogged and overflowing. I called a few other companies and they were unable to assist us until the following day (I called late in the afternoon). I quickly remembered we had used 5 Star Plumbing for an emergency at my wife's grandma's home and they provided top notch customer service and a job well done in a timely fashion. They offered to come out on an after hours call within a few hours or the following day. We opted for the after hours call to get things promptly resolved. You'll receive a text confirmation stating the tech is en route with their estimated arrival time, name, and vehicle info. That's wonderful information to provide for the elderly and women, among others. Eze was efficient, friendly, knowledgeable, polite, and professional. Our clean out needed to be snaked and we were back in business soon thereafter. They offer a 30 day warranty and we've always had great experiences both times I've needed their services for ourselves or family. Plumbing emergencies are never fun, but they provided quality service at a fair price all things considered. They CURRENTLY offer a 20% discount if you mention their website. That definitely helped soften the blow a tad. They accept credit or debit cards (with a 3% convenience fee), cash, and checks. They may also accept other forms of payment that I'm unaware of. Eze did a wonderful job overall and was sure to clean up after himself, which was great since I'm partially disabled and recovering from recent surgery. He communicated well throughout the entire process and gave me a price before completing the task at hand. He was informative and educated me on the baby or flushable wipes he found in our clean out that were several years old since we don't use them. While spending our Sunday night with the plumber is never ideal, know that 5 Star Plumbing will take care of you in your time of need, whenever lady luck isn't on your side. I would highly recommend them to anyone in need of plumbing assistance.
We called this plumber out for multiple issues around the house: a clogged toilet in our guest bathroom and two leaks--one at the bathtub faucet and one at the kitchen sink where water was leaking onto the counter surface. Starting with the clogged toilet: they charged about $320 after tax (roughly $290 before tax) to unclog it. The toilet was fixed, and while the price wasn't outrageous, it felt a bit high for what appeared to be a fairly straightforward unclogging. The more frustrating part was the leaks. For both the bathtub faucet and the kitchen sink, the plumber essentially dismissed the issues entirely, telling us, "We don't do these anymore" and that we would "just have to replace it." They were unwilling to help with repairs, unwilling to be part of the replacement process, and didn't offer any meaningful explanation or guidance on next steps. Throughout the visit, the plumber's tone was condescending and dismissive. Instead of feeling helped or informed, I was left feeling like calling a plumber for actual plumbing issues was somehow a mistake--which is unacceptable when you're paying a professional for help. I'm giving two stars instead of one only because the toilet was ultimately fixed. Based on this experience, I wouldn't call them again or recommend them if you're looking for a plumber who is collaborative, helpful, or willing to explain your options.
They responded quick and were able to come out same day to replace water heater. However the installation wasn’t safe. The installer didn’t complete basic soap test for gas leaks at the end he just left. Unfortunately the gas was leaking all night, and left us with garage full of gas. Also when he was installing the water heater he didn’t use ladder when needed he had his one foot on gas pipe and another on my bollard (protective post). After talking to the installer he acted as this is no big deal. Gas leak is huge deal, they handled it extremely poorly LETS ADDRESS YOUR RESPONSE SO IT REFLECTS ACCURATELY---- Your team did not come back first thing in the morning, your team showed up 4:30pm following day after you claimed "truck broke down" Gas leak is a gas leak and especially one left overnight in a garage. Also one created with reckless install. You also didn't provide a reasonable resolution, you wanted to buy my review. You started a negotiating what it would take for me to remove this review. You didn't care about what was happening you cared about the review and that is when you actually called me for so called " reasonable resolution". You expect a reasonable and honest approach but you did not offer that at all.
I requested a bath tub faucet replacement. I received a quick reply, with a same day response and an ETA of a couple of hours. I asked for an estimate for the job and was given a quote in the amount of $370; a cost I was OK with. I agreed to that cost and requested notification of ETA. I received a text message indicating the service person was on their way. The service person took a look at the faucet and almost doubled the price of the job.('$651.20). I was mortified. I questioned the cost increase and was provided a terse explanation. Realistically, no amount of explaining could justify the unreasonable inflation of cost. The guy was in and out of my house within 20 minutes. I won't ever use 5 Star Plumbing again. I will not recommend 5 Star Plumbing to anyone. The reason for the 2 stars - same-day service, notification of ETA, and he cleaned up after completion of the job. That's it. The absence of the other 3 stars - ridiculous inflated cost. The review process asks the question... What could improve? The best answer I have for that question...I should improve. I need to pay closer attention to the content of the negative reviews. I won't make that mistake again.
After 3 really positive experiences with 5 Star Plumbing, it is really disappointing to be leaving what should be a 0 star review. Their business model is now built on grossly overcharging unwitting and or desperate clients. We were fine with the show up fee of $149. However, to quote us $480 to change out a sump pump, which their own tech agreed would not take more than 30-minutes is absurd! When I called them on it they gave a weak response about providing a 1-year warranty on their workmanship. Since I supplied the new pump, their "warranty" was limited to the single PVC adapter connection. They offered to give me a discount lowering the charge to $400 and then offered a further discount down to $350. While our experience with their onsite plumbers/techs has been very good, the back office and business model are grossly overcharging people who aren't in a position to send them away or hate surrendering the show up fee and getting nothing for it. We will not be calling them again, and you shouldn't either. DO NOT GIVE THIS COMPANY YOUR BUSINESS OR YOUR MONEY.
Five stars, just like the name! Peter, Eze and Ben were quick, clear on pricing, and such experts. Our upstairs toilet and bathtub that are rarely used weren't draining, and the 5-star team came out the SAME DAY I called, snaked, then scheduled for someone to come out with a camera. When they couldn't snake the clog or view it with the camera, they broke the news that they'd have to go into the wall and cut into the pipe. Luckily they could access it from our garage. HERE IS WHERE THINGS GET SO CRAZY. While I wanted to blame my kiddos for flushing a toy down the toilet... Eze and Ben found that the builders of my home HAD DROPPED PIECES OF PIPE DOWN THE VENT MAIN, and this was causing the clog. So, not anyone's fault but the builders. The team documented everything and I've filed a homeowner's insurance claim. I am confident the 5-star crew will provide all the info to the claims manager for my case, and I am happy we had experts to help uncover this crazy issue!
Not sure what the average price is for water heater replacement but let me break down what I ended up paying for my replacement. $150 inspection fee $2250 for new water heater and install Total of $2400. The Water heater itself should've cost no more than $800... The company tries to make it seem like you're saving a lot of money by adding an arbitrarily high service amount ($3000 in this case), applying an arbitrary 20% discount, then saying that they will deduct the inspection price from the total amount. They should've just flat out said the total amount was going to cost $2,400... Quick response, but I didn't get an invoice until after my payment went through (they stored my card on file and charged me without informing me first). I found out the costs when I checked my bank account. I should've shopped around first for better quotes.
I called for a quote for a clogged sink drain and a leaky garbage disposal and 5 Star gave me a fair quote over the phone. They sent the contractor Peter out the next day and he arrived on time and unclogged the sink (cost was at the higher end of the quote). He was very helpful and showing me his work. The quote for disposal installation was a bit higher than I wanted (I wish they could have broken down the cost so I could know what I was paying for) but he was here and friendly and willing to take a little off the final price. The total job was completed in 2 hours time. I'm very happy with my experience and I recommend this company for sure. Also keep in mind that they do not increase rates for weekend jobs before 6pm only if it's an emergency. So they can come out to you on a Saturday or Sunday morning and the rates are same as weekdays.
